Received mine today and wanted to thank you for the suggestion. This will meet my needs and is a good sling bag. I'm a new user of them and find the feedback you shared accurate. They did change the clip on the black one so it no longer has the issue with slack in the strap. Glad to be a part of the battalion.
I personally would purchase these especially as EDC like you did. For me, I don't enjoy cargo pants or jeans and what not, so storage is extremely limited with my pants. Having a sling bag makes things alot easier and plus I can specifically add things for certain scenarios. Thanks for great ideas. Perfect pricing. As always, thank you Battalion leader
The sling bag stands in an interesting niche of carry bags. They seemingly stand for minimalism- because if you sling any more than that, you’ll find out how unstable and swinging they can be, if too heavy. I wouldn’t trust one with even a middle load-out where body balance is an issue. But there is much to be said for a light on the body sling, if you can operate out of it. If you need to carry more, and therefore need a more stable carry- but still need something light for athletic reasons, I’d suggest the packable back-pack, Venture Pal. Cheap, tough, reliable. Great video, Marine X, much obliged!
Good looking sling. The size is large enough to be practical without being too bulky. I’ve order 1 of each of the colors for each member of my family battalion.
I have the black one. Using it for nearly 4 months and it's very useful. As u said, the downside is the plastic holder for the strap. I end up using velcro tape/fasteners to hold the strap together as they will slip out too easily with the plastic holder. This is my 1st sling bag and I found it quite robust, comfortable, and spacey. Caught in the heavy rain several times and all my items inside this bag were in a good condition. Well, this tomtoc EDC sling bag is something to be considered. Besides the very good build quality and material, the price is way more cheaper than the other branding product. Very nice videos, my friend, and cheers from Malaysia. 🙂🙏
The Tomtoc is something I’ve been considering for awhile. Always have the issue of the sling being too big then it gets overloaded for no reason other than let’s fill the space with some other gear I may need lol. The tomtoc is a nice compact slim bag that looks like it would be put to good use. Battalion!
Been browsing for pouches waaay too much lately, when I realized what I actually need is a small sling. Maybe I'll get a pouch or two, or more than a few. But that will come later. Happy to find this video, and they have made an upgrade with X-pac material, and orange poppin interior wich I ordered! And finally!! the xpac version has a minimalistic version of their logo, not the billboard on the side! Good video!
My own EDC bag is a belt pouch. It has two zippered compartments big enough for a smartphone, plus another outside pocket that could also fit a smartphone, but I will most likely keep a USB power bank in mine. There's no key clip, but each compartment has a slit compartment within it. Unlike a sling bag, it is always attached once I've put it on. Any member of the battalion should appreciate that box; I know I would. It would be great to contain the heavier stuff that people keep in their car trunks.
I really am glad to find your video I have been using this sling for a few weeks. I like it and I also really liked the Alpaka Air Sling. I used It for a vacation as I walked around in the battalion sized museum rooms in France. It has nice features like a magnetic clasp and slash proof material … which I liked … thank you !
The other day, about 2 weeks ago, I had to do the yearly Car Plates thing, which required an inspection, and the next day, I had to have an oil change done, just my luck, more needless $$ to spend. As I leaving the vehicle, I was think to myself that I did not have an actual survival bag, (been meaning to build one) but I had my BUGOUT in the truck, my first aid kit for range use, only think I had was my murse that use to take to work. So I grab that and and put one of the trama kits in it. I think this would make a great EDC bag, when needed. I will be looking to this. Great review and great information.
Nice job on the video! I’ve had the black/red tomtoc EDC Sling Bag for over a year now, such a great bag. Perfect for carrying my Fujifilm camera and essentials. I recently ordered the Gray 7l / 14 inch sling and it seems perfect for my needs! They make such great products.
Like the look of the bag. The review was great. I am always looking for various bags to kit out. Best of all, I think it would be a good gift for my dad who tends to place all his EDCs in a lunch bag.
I prefer the Roaring Fire waist/sling pack because of the quality and different options you can do with it. I use that for backpacking for EDC/Medical items plus away from camp. Maybe for a small hike if I didn’t want to bring my EDC bag. For everyday I normally have cargo pants/shorts with plenty of pockets.👍🍻🥃
Thanks for sharing. Good vid. Funny thing is I’m laughing when I saw the red and black lumber Jack shocker because I have one. I also laughed when I saw the bag because I carry a small sling bag when I go running or trail running. Please check out the little recognized brand called H.T. Highland Tactical. Mine has molle on the face of the bag with multiple pockets. It’s roughly 12 or so inches long. It appears to be a little thicker than your bags. So it may not sit as flush to your body. I usually run across the bags in various stores. Cordura fabric as well. The price is EXCELLENT…under $20 usually. And yeah that excess strap on bags bugs me too. If you choose to add a strap keeper to it if better quality I can see that. I did on another bag. Hancock Fabric or Joann Fabrics is a great resource for preppers. Sometimes I’m the only guy in there. Lol. And ….battalion. Lol. Take care.
BATTALION - the TOMTOC seems a bit on the small side for me. I like using the Hazard 4 slings. Some of them can be on the larger side though. I also like the Roaring Fire products. I have not tried their sling(s) as of yet though but they are great products. Thanks for all you do brother!
Battalion! I have been considering that bag as well as the Helikon Bandicoot así have to off body carry at times. Would love to see if and how well either bag, and others work in this capacity. Thank you for the great content.
That is a pretty good sling bag good size not much weight little small for me but the wife likes it so I’ll probably have to order her one battalion strong
Battalion, as google dictionary defines "a large body of troops ready for battle, especially an infantry unit forming part of a brigade typically commanded by a lieutenant colonel." In Marine speak... Just whole bunch of brothers/sisters, born from the intense relationship of MCRD SD and Parris island SC, who fight for the devil dog to the left and leatherneck to the right... Born to Fight, Trained to Kill, Ready to Die but NEVER WILL !!! Because we live on in every young warrior that marches across that parade deck.... Semper Fi Brothers and Sisters !!!
I carry too much EDC stuff... I started with a sling bag (no name), but now I have an Osprey daylight... and I'm filling that up. Too much... SF, Brother... Battalion!
Hey leatherneck! Nice channel, just wanted to pet you know that Grunt style released a sling bag…it looks pretty good… i was in the stumps in hq battalion. Well at least that’s what it’s called now
Great video. I have been wanting to try a sling and these look nice but are not going to break the bank. some are so expensive and I did not want to spend a ton just to find I did not care for it.
@@MarineX indeed. The best feature was the ability to record discreetly when using the phone pocket and the dagger compartment. Neither of which I really used.
Do you think it’s possible to sow with a sowing machine, a loop strip on the front of the bag to add a Velcro patch? If I get it professionally sowed?!
I'll have to give this TomToc some consideration for hauling around my trauma kit day to day; the MOLLE case and gear I use for my trauma EDC is getting too clunky. Appreciate the review, Marine-X!!!

So happy the man purse is back in style..I rocked one back in the mid 70's, now they're back...hell yeah.
lol!

They did? If that’s true then I’ll definitely get the black one

Really thankful for this video! I've been looking for reviews on this sling and no one talks about it.
I really enjoy being part of this battalion of EDC carriers. Learning a lot and gaining different use’s of my gear. Thank you!
Battalion ALLDAY!!! Best EDC content on RUclips 🔥🔥🔥 Battalion

Thanks Battalion! Never considered a sling but now I will.
This video works perfectly at 2x speed, I'm really impressed by that, I was watching something else at 2x, and even the starting music, well done.
Hello Battalion, that is a nice looking bag heading over to the website to see their other items. 👍👍👍

Alpaka bravo X sling is my everyday carry...I got the limited edition multi-cam with orange inlay it's pretty expensive but I love it
I have the black one and use it regularly lately. carrying few items just. seems like a robust sling. spacious and minimalist. happy with my purchase.
I like that you review different man bags. This is one I have not considered until I watched your review. Thanks for posting.
I really like Chrome sling bags with the seatbelt material and buckle. I got the night edition
Thank you for the video. Can always use a good, versatile, and reasonably priced piece of gear in the Semper-Gumby Battalion.
Thanks for the review, looks great for a quick walk. Battalion!
Great content, happy to join the battalion.
Fjallraven has a banana sling (very hiker style) i got because I can fit a gimbal in it. It's perfect. Not much organization in it though.
Thank you for the video! I’m looking into sling bags. Battalion.
I like the look of the bag. Good price. Thanks for thinking of the battalion
Glad to be part of the Battalion!
Oh dang I just bought it. Battalion yay!
So glad I’ve joined the battalion!!

That case looks great. Glad to be part of the battalion
I ordered mine back in May 2022 in black and the strap has been updated to the new design.
Haven't utilized a sling yet. Might have to check these out. Glad to be part of the battalion.

Yeah the eight inch is the smallest. They go bigger than the Hazard 4 at 14 inches though
Thanks for all the EDC videos. I’m part of the battalion and on Discord. Keep up the great videos!
I wanted a new sling bag. A really cool battlion sling bag
Thanks for another great video TBFAB (Texas Brother From Another Battalion)!
Battalion! I have been considering that bag as well as the Helikon Bandicoot así have to off body carry at times. Would love to see if and how well either bag, and others work in this capacity. Thank you for the great content.
Nice Battalion of sling bags.👍
Great review, been using a messenger bag forever but would like to switch to something sleeker. Will give one of these a try.
Battalion FTW!
It's a pretty slick bag. I could see myself using one in urban settings/traveling etc
Thanks for the info - I just bought one and I love it!
Great review on why the battalion should cop one or severlnof these. You like vanuest slings?
I've been torn between the budget friendly TomToc 8 inch and the AER City Sling 2. Really appreciate your review here! Battalion!
AER does seem to make a really nice product, albeit at a higher cost.
Same boat. Which did you get?
Appreciate the review. I'm looking for one to mostly carry my ipad mini and a few other things. This looks like a winner.
Great review. I just caught wind of these slings this week and ordered a compact bag for my camera. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Everyone commenting murse has issues with their manhood. Great review. Don’t give a damn about what others think. Battalion
That is a pretty good sling bag good size not much weight little small for me but the wife likes it so I’ll probably have to order her one battalion strong
Just received a new black one. It has the updated strap adjustment.
thanks, i was wondering about that.
Battalion! Awesome sling
Battalion battalion battalion!
I do miss being in an artillery battalion, but I’m enjoying being a part of this one.

Thanks for the review! Battalion!
Battalion baby lessssss go! Gotta get me one of those bags
Great videos! Battalion
Yes I've been debating between this bag and the Alpaka go sling mini limited edition or the Alpaka Elements. I'm having a really difficult time...
You are a freaking awesome guy, I love your recommendations!!!
Looks like a great bag,, might have to look into this one. I carry the Vanquest Dendrite in the sling position.
That would make a great asset to our battalion!
It’s like the aer day sling 2. If I didn’t already own the Aer, I’d get this.
I carry too much EDC stuff... I started with a sling bag (no name), but now I have an Osprey daylight... and I'm filling that up. Too much... SF, Brother... Battalion!
I love them...... they just offered a deal where you can pick your colors.
Someone in the battalion is getting a nice box!
thank you for the sling bag info what type of cigar are you smoking
Thanks for the vid, brother. Semper Fi.
Just picked up the grey one man love it. Keep up making more great videos for the battalion
What size are those bags? I ordered the 8 inches bag but Im worried its smaller than yours, thats looking like the perfect size
I have the eight inch
Nice sling, if I was in the market, I’d get one! Battalion!
Have you used it to conceal carry?
Have they updated the strap on the black version like the others yet?
Thanks for the vid Marine-X!
Hey leatherneck! Nice channel, just wanted to pet you know that Grunt style released a sling bag…it looks pretty good… i was in the stumps in hq battalion. Well at least that’s what it’s called now

Been waiting for a good review on the sling. I have the Vertx sling but haven't used it in months as it doesn't seem to fit my load out
Hopefully this knocks it out lol
@@MarineX indeed. The best feature was the ability to record discreetly when using the phone pocket and the dagger compartment. Neither of which I really used.
Amazing review, thank you
another quality video for the battalion. They should offer a red one to use as a med kit
Imagine a Battalion but of Storm Troopers using the white bag 😁
The green one is a bit more subdued and like the attention of the clips
Great review. Battalion!
I love the color combo of the olive green i'm going to have to get one for myself to try out with my boosted board!.. Battalion
Just came across your stuff. Keep up the great work. I look forward to see the other content you bring to the battalion.
Interesting g bag. But I think ill stay with my Maxpedition Jumbo for my Battalion exercises.
Amen brother!

Nice sling bag! Battalion!
Love the bag. Seems very compact and the price seems great, too. Battalion.
White rocks! (But I'm buying silver 😅)
Best purchase of 2021
Hey. Extremely insightful video. Which size of the Hero Clip do you have on the bag in the video?
I appreciate the videos. BATTALION
I might have to grab one 👌🏽
Have you tried greenroom 136 metro runner? I just got my tomtoc in black and i love it.
What size Hero Clip are you using with the bag?
