    Dick Cavett has been nominated for eleven Emmy awards (the most recent in 2012 for the HBO special, Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together Again), and won three. Spanning five decades, Dick Cavett’s television career has defined excellence in the interview format. He started at ABC in 1968, and also enjoyed success on PBS, USA, and CNBC.
    His most recent television successes were the September 2014 PBS special, Dick Cavett’s Watergate, followed April 2015 by Dick Cavett’s Vietnam. He has appeared in movies, tv specials, tv commercials, and several Broadway plays. He starred in an off-Broadway production ofHellman v. McCarthy in 2014 and reprised the role at Theatre 40 in LA February 2015.
    Cavett has published four books beginning with Cavett (1974) and Eye on Cavett (1983), co-authored with Christopher Porterfield. His two recent books -- Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets (2010) and Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic moments, and Assorted Hijinks(October 2014) are both collections of his online opinion column, written for The New York Times since 2007. Additionally, he has written for The New Yorker, TV Guide, Vanity Fair, and elsewhere.

      For sure. But I don't know if Kermit is 95% Jim Henson or if Jim Henson is 95% Kermit! Either way there will never be another. They broke the mold with those two.

      Caroll Spinney also sounds a lot like a more mellow and quiet Oscar, and Frank Oz's natural voice is basically a much deeper Bert (also like a less-dramatic Sam the Eagle), and Jerry Nelson sounds so much like Floyd Pepper.

    I love how Dick was just completely stumped by Oscar’s “I love trash” remark. He did not know how to bounce back from that, at all.

      Dick Cavett is an exceptionally intelligent person, so I'm surprised he didn't realize that the monitors they watch during their performance would be showing the image in real time with only the teeniest bit of delay (like thousandths of a second or less). Or maybe he was being snide. Dick has been known to do that.

    Frank Oz with HAIR! I think it's so great that Jim sounds so much like Kermit even in his normal speaking voice. RIP Caroll and Jim.

      @@crassenti Yeah, he played Big Bird for over 40 years. Seeing him as Big Bird at Jim's funeral was heart wrenching, though there were some really great moments too, such as when the guys all got together to sing some of Jim's favorite songs: ruclips.net/video/KSE1Mtnnm4Y/видео.html

    The instant Jim starts speaking I smile unconsciously. His voice is just so comforting and non-threatening. He *IS* Kermit the Frog. Counterintuitively, for me anyways, the great puppeteers all seem to be introverts yet do so well with interacting with other people while puppeteering, especially children.

      Don’t forget that there’s also leaning sideways and in awkward positions, sometimes underneath a sofa, so that the puppeteer isn’t visible to the camera

    I like how Frank Oz is the voice of Grover but also the bald headed dude so many times when he goes to the diner and Grover is the waiter it's almost like he's doubling up in the same scene

      @@sholabolaji2975 Oh. When he said Bald headed I thought he Meant Sam, cause he’s a bald Eagle, and he’s blue. No Mr Johnson the bald headed blue dude is voiced by Jerry, next to Frank. But Frank does do Grover, not just his voice. He performs him. Because he makes him come to life, Grover is a puppet.

      Not 6 years. More like 8. The character first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, which was released in 1980 (much of which was shot in 1979).

      And was inspired by Henson and Oz collaboration in the Dark Crystal with Lucas and creating the death scene from the Mystic, which was later on used in Episode 6 in a similar manner for Yoda‘s death.
