    Bonjour Gabrielle! I like oysters too! The texture is like eating sashimi on top of sushi.
    I think the design of French chocolat wrapping is really stylish!

      Merci beaucoup! 😊 Oysters really do have that fresh, delicate texture! And I totally agree about French chocolate packaging-it's always so elegant and artistic, j'adore le chocolat 🍫

    The Grand Epicerie is a must. We hit it at the beginning of our visits to get picnic and apero supplies and at the end for stuff to bring home. If I ever lived in Paris it would have to be within walking distance to this magnificent store.

      Oh yes, La Grande Épicerie is definitely a must! It's the perfect place to grab snacks and get to try different specialties from France! I totally get it, living close by would be a dream 😍. Merci Thanks for sharing, hope you can visit again soon!

    We do two weeks every other year. Missed one cycle due to Covid, but we were in Paris in 2023 for our sixth visit.
    We really don’t do a lot anymore. We have been to all the “must see” places. We typically have a leisurely morning in our hotel, go have a nice lunch, spend the afternoon in a park or at a small museum, relax in the late afternoon - apero and then a nice dinner. Our only challenge is we run out of days before we run out of restaurants that we want to visit. We have so many favorites and every trip we have new ones we want to try as well.
    Speaking of oysters, the next time you are at the Grand Epicerie, check out Bouteville Vinaigre Gastronomique Le Vegital. Specially formulated for oysters - It is spectacular! We learned about it at Huitrerie Regis in the 6th. Highly recommended.

      That sounds like a perfect way to experience Paris-slow mornings, delicious lunches, and enjoying the charm of the city! I totally get the "too many restaurants, not enough time" feeling! 😊 Thanks for the tip on the Bouteville Vinaigre Gastronomique, I’ll definitely check it out at the Grand Epicerie, especially since I love oysters too. Huitrerie Regis is also such a great spot in the 6th!

      Other than Huitrere Regis and the Grand Epicerie, any other oyster spots that you recommend? We like La Coupole, Closserie des Lilas and Avant Comptoir de la Mer. Bofinger not so much. Have not checked out Wepler, and while La Dome is a favorite, we always get the Sole Meunière - not enough room for a shellfish tower as well.

    In the US, my mother used to shop at a large, chain department store called "Le Bon" which of course means nothing lol, but the customers would just say that instead of the whole official, "Le Bon Marche" and it was a different business from the store in Paris.

    • @FrenchWithElle
      @FrenchWithElle  Месяц назад

      That's so interesting! It's funny how similar names can have completely different meanings. "Le Bon" must have brought a touch of French flair, even if it wasn’t quite the same as Le Bon Marché in Paris! 😊
