Serial Experiments Lain was the first anime I watched knowing it was anime, and not just the Robotech/Voltron cartoons on Saturday mornings. I watched it because a girl I liked at school was into it, and in hindsight, knowing both how our relationship went and what effect anime would have on the rest of my life…. Maybe it was stupid. But I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this song, and I find it really beautiful even without the nostalgia. And I’m amazed yet again that despite having such a heartwarming, slightly squeaky talking voice, that Amiya is able to sing with such a haunting and beautiful timbre. Thank you Amiya, for making me feel both young and old at the same time. And for such a wonderful cover.
This is actually quite a bold cover to execute. The original is so iconic and sung with that unique taunting desperation, any performance becomes difficult to live up to the original. But everything really works here. The slower pace, powerful but resigned vocal performance, deliberately reduced instrumentation, and on-point visuals. It doesn't just fit together well - it echoes themes of the show while still managing to be distinct. I'm impressed. Exceptional work.

Your singing always astounds me, and I really like the part at 2;12 and 3:17 however I'm really impressed you did the Guitar for this. I would've thought it was pre-made had you not said otherwise! The Video also turned out really well with the screen effects and making use of different parts of the negative space in the art. You selected a good artist for this, especially with how the web wires are removable!

In certain scenarios, I love the effect that just plugging your guitar in and using the undersaddle transducer gives you. This is one of those.
