  • This is the final video in my Y-B-Y video review of Mattel Hot Wheels cars. I have decided to take a PAUSE from these videos while I better complete my collection, and make better use of my time and space in the diecast museum.

    Sad to see the year by year collection updates come to an end. The cars you are missing are mostly inexpensive I commonly pick them up at swap meets and flea markets for $1 to $3 dollars. I know it takes a lot of time to sort them out as I have 2000 unsorted Hotwheels from this era. Maybe you will come back to them after you move. Thanks for sharing what you have this video just seemed to go by so fast for 5 years of cars

    I see you don't have the 2003 tooned 68 mustang, I remember when the variants on that one exploded, they literally gave up listing them all. I feel for any unfortunate soul who dares attempt to collect them all.

    Blows my mind how much they want to charge for shipping & handling on a $1 little car .... Insane

    It is interesting to note how we all change in our "collection priorities". I have recently been doing the same as you albeit with my MUCH reduced collection as compared to your magnificent one. I agree the cars from this era are basically dollar cars. My wall available space is much less than yours. I am also older than you, so want to make sure my collection is organized in a manner that our children can easily determine which cases contain "valuable" cars and which are basically worth a buck. Recently I have been obtaining original Redlines and Blackwalls, because those are the cars I remember from my childhood. I spend more money for less cars, but the actual total value of my collection has increased. (I do not personally care about that, but it helps when explaining to my wife why I "bought more toy cars"!) I enjoy your content regardless of the subject.

    Great collection! I have many brands too that i collect from from all decades, I never focus on just one brand.
    Also about the Final Runs - I highly doubt they destroyed the tool & die - that was just a sales gimmick. I'm certain the tool & die was retired due to being worn out and no longer suitable for use, and what usually happens is the "scroungers" usually pop up and buy those die molds from Mattel. For the am,ambulance specifically Maisto came out with an ambulance nearly identical to the Hot Wheels one, and in the same livery Mattel used on the 1980's release, around the time that Mattel quit making the Hot Wheels Ambulance.

    Hey good luck with the new home ....i can see it being difficult as we both have bafoons for leaders .
    Think ive dated about 30 plus cars thanks to this vid ...im still finding massive loose piles at the fle market
    Found a insane mint india made Ferrari testrorassa with black walls .
    An belive it or not bought a massive red bin full of cars ...the man said he got em from a women who dident want to store them in package an opened them all ..a bin of over 100 blister pulls 😲
    In it was a real pretty bright pink 56 ford fairlane White Lightning..now ive still never found one in the wild ..never thought my first one would be in flee market ...an a few weeks before that a loose 1995 TH the GREEN VW ..the one you cant miss in anyones display ....
    Stuff is still out there an my huntings been Ahappy .
    I get it as 2000 an later is to much an not all that great 2004 2005 are the insane years with so so many goofy to the max cars
    Fatbaxks
    Drop tops
    Blings
    to name some of the series,.some are cool but way to many .

  • @TheKingRacer007

    I disagree with you on the final run series. I think personally they should bring that series back. So they can retired some undesired or mostly fantasy models that aren't so popular (like the poppa Wheely car) and make a good cleanup of their tooling library. This way it will make some room for more new castings and better ones for our collection in the futures!

    • @TheKingRacer007
      @TheKingRacer007 6 месяцев назад

      If they do bring back the final run series, it could potentially fix also a other problem in the hot wheels line : the repetition of castings in their series. I mean, you look at a car culture, a mainline, a 5 pack, a 10 pack,etc. I garantie a lot of cars are the same tooling just with different paints. If they clean their tooling library they will have a easier access to all of their available toolings and maybe we will have better assortiments with totally different cars instead of the same car use over and over again ( like the Datsun 510 or the squarebody Chevy).

    What you can do with low profile cars is put two in the same spot and one’s on top of the other one.

    Unfortunate but understandable. Its the end of an area! Honestly i don't blame you for moving to other brands. The money people ask for old junk hotwheels these days make it imposable to fill in a collection especially in that dark area of 1995-2005. Inflation and greed in this new corrupt world is takein its tole on the hobby! be well my friend!

    I think putting new stuff on the walls for display is an excellent idea. Personally I’d love to see all the Premium HW stuff in the display cases and if possible in the order of release date. I’m assuming the variations of premium is kept to a minimum at least wheel wise. Auto World or Tarmac Works would be next for on wall display followed by Johnny Lightning models and variations. I know you collect other manufacturers models too but the Majorette and Jada product to don’t cut it personally so you can pass on those and I wouldn’t mind. Ultimately you gotta do you and what you like. No matter how it’s gonna go I’m still gonna look forward to the upcoming videos. Maybe more so now that you’re changing the museum displays with fresh eye candy.

    I was wondering if you went with adds in your vedios from the start or not? And if not, did you get more viewers, when you did allow adds?

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  5 месяцев назад +1

      There have always been ads on my videos, so as to help fund the collection... recently RUclips seems to have more ads than in the past. I do limit the number of ads per video, and hopefully they aren't' too intrusive to the viewing experience
