Launching the future with the Scouts - Simon

Sixteen-year-old Simon's idea of an environmentally-friendly data centre in outer space has won him a trip of a lifetime to watch the Inmarsat I-6 F2 satellite launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida.
His idea was chosen from 100s of entries by Scouts Ambassador and astronaut Tim Peake, in our nationwide UK Scouts challenge which invited 10-18-year-old Scouts and Explorers to come up with ideas of how satellites could help life on Earth in the future.
Simon from the 5th Tower Hamlets Scouts Group won the 14-18 year-old Explorers category.
