Awesome! As a person who transports machines I feel I have 14:36 learned so much. Thank you for another informative video. You are so clear and precise.
Love it Jen! I have a policy, it I make it abundantly clear I won't accept boxes with plastic peanuts. If I open a box and it has plastic peanuts, It gets taped shut and sent back.
Great job but in addition add one or more address lables INSIDE the box so if the outside gets messed up and unreadable the shippers can get inside and know where it is going!
Good idea what the plastic wrap cellophane I do it with typewriters I haven’t thought about it with the sewing machines now I will pack mine that way thank you for the info. Have a great day.
This one was a customers and they didn't send me the foot control and power cord. If I were packing one with the machine then it would be wrapped separately in bubble wrapped and worked into the box. I try to avoid shipping cases back and forth unless it is a machine that I am selling. Cases damage so very easily!
Ok but what about one that comes with the case? And if I knew what model but it just looks very similar to the one in your videos the singer 999?? Maybe it's the black machine in your videos the older looking one. Any videos on how to package a machine with the case included??
Hi! A lot of the time I ship the case separately if it is a heavier machine. (99, 66, 15, 201...) They are the first thing to be damaged in shipping. When I receive a machine that was shipped in the case (base and top) more times than not, the case is damaged. Featherweights are the only thing that I will consider shipping in a case because they are so light and easy to pad the inside of the case. If you have to ship the machine and case together then I recommend lots of padding inside the case and out and then double box the machine. It's a pain but it really is the best way. In this video both of the machines were being shipped without cases. I hope that helps!
If you don't have egg cartons then I would recommend more bubble wrap and paper padding. There are some padded shipping supplies that you can buy but they get expensive. I'd go overboard on bubble wrapping the machine with a nice layer of wadded paper in the bottom of the box and then all around as well. I hope that helps!
This video should be standard concept training for Goodwill. Very nice job on your method and description for shipping a machine.
Wow, thanks! And I have had some “interesting” pack jobs from Goodwill, so I understand what you are saying!

You are the queen of machine transporting! Love what you do!
Very well done video with great how to steps. Thank You Jenn ( Bob-T West Coast)

They are the worst! AND they don’t work!
Great job but in addition add one or more address lables INSIDE the box so if the outside gets messed up and unreadable the shippers can get inside and know where it is going!
That’s a great point! Thanks!
Yay! And may I add, when in doubt, add more stiff packing. And tissue paper IS NOT packing paper. You rock Jen! Thanks for this.
You are welcome! Just hope to save some machines from shipping disasters. :) Less is not more when it comes to padding!

You are welcome! Typewriters, how fun!
Nice job packing the Featherweight. Where's the foot pedal and cords?

What can you substitute the egg cartons with?

What of the leg of the machine how will u pack it
Do you mean the foot control? I wrap that in bubble wrap and pack it in the box wherever it will fit. With lots of padding around it as well.
