I worked in a quilt shop in the late 1990s early 2000s and thimbleberries was big back then. I actually got to go to a retreat and met Lynette and had my picture taken with her. Those were great times and great memories and you brought them all to the forefront today. Thank you Lori.
Really enjoyed your vlogmas through the month of December. I’ll miss watching you at night. I was lucky enough to tour Lynette’s house a few times while attending a local retreat in her town and she graciously opened her home to us. It was the house she shared in many of her books and was fabulous as you can imagine. She was so gracious to allow us to take, pictures while we walked around. I still look back at those photos for decor inspiration. She had such a knack for making a home warm and cozy. Merry Christmas
I really love all those quilt books. Thank you for showing them! When I lived in OKC, there was a quilt shop called Buckboard Antiques. The owner had the most incredible antique quilts. Better Homes and Gardens quilt books often pictured quilts from her store. I love quilts from every era! I managed to buy a couple antique quilts from Judy’s shop.
Hi Lori, Thimbleberries is most definitely timeless, like the antiques we love and the vintage bowls. Eleanor Burns is also timeless with her quilt in a day series. I did not know there were so many Thimbleberry books, I have some but now will be on the hunt for them. I hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas.
Such gorgeous quilts! Thank you for sharing so much beauty and so many wonderful ideas with us this past month! I’ll miss seeing you every day! Hope you enjoyed a cozy Christmas Eve! Hugs! 🫶🏻
What a trip down memory lane with Lynette Jensen. I have several of her books, have made several of her patterns. My son in law did a lot of the photography for her books in the late nineties, often at her home. He loved working with her.
Such beautiful quilt designs. Always enjoy thumbing through these types of books with a cup of tea or coffee especially at this time of year. Thanks for the tip about hutch decorating on Pinterest. I love hutches. The white one you showed in the book is right up my alley. Just wish I had room in my house for some more of them. Thank you, Lori, for all the wonderful inspiration (some enabling you too) that you have given us during Vlogmas this year. Looking forward to seeing what you have going in 2025. Many Blessings and Merry Christmas to you and the kitties. ❤😻😻
The topper on my dining room table, Christmas quilt and wallhanging Christmas card holder are all made with Thimbleberries patterns and fabric. I think the fabric colors are truly timeless. My local quilt shop had a Thimbleberries club that met quarterly. They would have samples made up and we received free recipes and patterns. I also attended her lecture locally in the early 2000s.
Wow..what memories. I still have several of her kits from when I was a Thimbleberries Club member for several years.. Found another similar decorating item we have in common....Harold Turpin houses. I only have one, but I like it a lot. I will miss seeing you daily as I have enjoyead each and every post.
Thank you for sharing from some of your book collection. It is fun to see all of the inspiration. There are some great quilts. I really enjoy her style and the color ways. See you tomorrow.
What a collection of fabulous books!!!! I would look through them over and over again!!! Have a peaceful Christmas Eve and a glorious Christmas morning.
Oh the Thimbleberry books took e back to a quilt shop we use to have here. It was a very prim shop full of the thimbleberry fabrics, decor and one whole room was flannels. Merry Christmas! 🎄
I like the quilt you have on the sofa in back of you. I have never sewn with flannel or wool before. Probably recommend using a walking foot but will have to look into some small pieces to start with, maybe some table runners. Always a new adventure and you do enable us. Merry Christmas Eve and hope you enjoy your family this holiday season. 🎄☃️❄️🪡🧵🙏
Thank you for reintroducing me to Lynette and Thimbleberries. It's been a while and her quilts definitely give you Autumn/Christmas vibes. It's wonderful to sit down sometimes and go though all those books on our shelves. They do take you down memory lane. Merry Christmas Lori!
So fun to see some of these again. I used to belong to a Thimbleberries Club where we met every month for a few years. I have very little left except some fabric from the Lodge/ Lake line. I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and thank you for another lovely season of Holiday Vlogmas!
Hi Lori - your flannel quilt on the couch is gorgeous! Love thimbleberry fabrics! Your books are great - really enjoyed seeing all the goodies! Merry Christmas Eve, Lori!
Merry Christmas eve! And thanks for doing these videos all month. Our kids and grandkids just left to go home to prepare for Santa, so I am relaxing a bit before heading to bed. Enjoyed the trip down memory lane with those books!
Awww Lynette… so many books, so many designs. Non-stop. I have many books and they never get old. Thimbleberries is a state of mind. It defines autumn.
Merry Christmas! What a fun way to spend some time on Christmas Eve, paging through some much loved Thimbleberries books. I still page through them at the thrift stores and pick up the ones I like. So often, even if I never sewed a single pattern from it, I get more than the sticker price’s worth of inspiration and pleasure from it. Early Christmas Morning is kitted up. Might put in some stitches tonight. If not, definitely Christmas morning. Christmas peace to you and yours.
All the Christmas Eve company just left, and I enjoyed sitting in the quiet watching and listening to this vlogmas. It was wonderful, and just what I needed. Thanks so much!
I was introduced to Thimbleberry quilts late but do have one book that I love the projects. I had no idea the designer had published so many books. I will be on the lookout in my future thrifting endeavors. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your families visit and have a very Merry Christmas.
I had several Thimbleberries books and booklets, but when we moved I really had to downsize my collections. I think I kept several, I'll have to check. It's nice to know that when you give away things, they are going to someone who will love them again.
I know I have one or two Thimbleberries books and now I will have to go and pull them out and have a closer look at them. Wishing you a Happy Christmas Eve! 💚
