I have the feeling that this army once it gets models is going to be very interesting. I am glad that opr goes out of its way to try and make their armies feel neat. I love what I saw from the wood elves so I really do wonder what they might do with the angels.
I developed a 2k pure human army and a 2k angle army for KoA: 4x Penitents [10] (musicians, banners) 4x Infantry [10], (musicians, banners) 2x Battle Nuns [10] (sergeant, musicians, banners), x2 Champion (Harsh Master) with Palace Guard [6]. High Angel [1] (Harsh Master) with Battle Angels [3], 3x Fire Phoenix, 2x Thrones [3] 5x Cherubs [5].

Interesting. Seems like the Mantic and AoS specific factions suffer from severe underdevelopment, with many units that have no customization options at all. As you pointed out, this leaves otherwise good chassis like the Palace Guard and Battle Angels stuck with bad weapons that prevent them from properly leveraging their high stats. Hopefully these factions will get a facelift when it comes time for OPR to make their own models for them (did Shadow Stalkers benefit from this?)
I think the panthers thing isn't particularly egregious. There's something of a tradition of benevolent big cats in christian fantasy-Aslan you will probably have heard of, but there is also a friendly were-leopard woman in George McDonald's Lillith, and big cats frequently feature in the armies of Narnia as well. The vibe of the army is also clearly influenced by High Elves from warhammer fantasy, and those have always had something going on with the white lions.
B.t.w. The Mantic Basileans actually work very well within the Kings of War game system. It's their rules for AOF that are a little hodge podge in this case. They don't translate well I think.
I’ve watched a few games now with the undead 5+ regeneration. That is one crazy hard to fight rule. You have to tend or poison through. And me rolling dice for that makes it such a fluke I can’t say I’d ever beat it.
You might be generous with those passed moral tests!!!!!! I painted though almost 2 boxes fo clone troopers from this weekend. I'll take a picture of what's left. I think its 140 phase 1 clone troopers. I'll have my wife up load them. Not the prettiest looking. A bit grim dark for white armor LOL:)!!!! Great battle report Buddy!!!!! I can send you a clone if I win. I'd be nice to give some thing back ( I may smuggle you something extra LOL:)!)
they are from beastarium miniatures. Part of the Penitent collection. I had to stop myself from making an army with exclusively their stuff. Its so good if you want a darker religious spin on an army
If a unit is over half strength it is pinned. If it is under half strength it flees the board. And starting strength means the number of models it has not wounds
The wiki page is a JOKE. I've got 12 years experience running ran wikis on wikia. Everytime I made a meaningful edit to the OPR wiki some a**hole would undo my edits and berate me. F*ck that wiki. It needs an admin to ban people.
yeah its in rough shape. I have heard talks of wiping it and starting over multiple times. All I know is that OPR dosent have their hands in it, the wiki is its own separate thing

Nexus Wargaming's channel has said they find Kingdom of Angels to be very strong, but I'm not sure he's put out an analysis of why.

It's definitely a strong rule and something that can throw a wrench in your plans if you don't know your fighting against it.
