  • It is October in Idaho and that means its apple season. Wild apples are abundant in this area so this week we are going out to pick apples to make some super easy and delicious applesauce. Applesauce does not require any special equipment beside some jars and a pot so its a great beginner canning recipe. Although I take you step by step on how to make it, I do not have a recipe. I just add spices and sweetener until I get it to the taste I like.
I'm also going to be canning my applesauce for long term food storage so I will show you step by step on how to successfully can applesauce so it will stay good for years to come.

Nice! Love the intro too 😊 I can smell the cinnamon. I'm watching while baking my oat, nut and dried fruit bread. It's especially yummy to toast a slice then top it with cream cheese.

A low temperature . Probably around 200 degrees . I usually bump the temp up at first to get it going and then turn it down to around 200.
