Just a mental note: Knuckles isn't supposed to be dumb (like how the newer games unfortunately tend to make him out to be), he's just naive because he has this code of honor that he expects most of his opponents go by as well as simply being unfamiliar with Earth customs since he spent his whole life living alone in his home world without anyone else to guide him.
I enjoyed the reaction regardless!
Yeah I honestly think this is a perfect middle. Capable in a way Knuckles hasn't been for a while, but knows little but being a warrior.
exactly, Knuckles being duped by Eggman is a consistent theme in Sonic game history so it makes sense too, in Sonic 3, Eggman cleverly pitted Knuckles and Sonic against each other, same thing in Sonic Adventure
Knuckles is actually highly intelligent, even in the newer games. He is just consistently portrayed as a combination of naive (for the very reasons you stated) and poorly educated due to his isolated upbringing... and continued self-isolation due to his dutifulness as the Master Emerald's keeper. The only series recently that portrays him as dumb is Sonic Boom, and even then... he has sudden and unexpected bursts of intelligence.
Honestly, this movie had no business being as good as it was.
I had so much fun watching it.
Given the mid-credit tease, I cannot wait for the 3rd movie, as well as the Knuckles spin-off TV series.
Also, Jim Carrey (aka Robotnik) announced that he was retiring after this movie (unless he comes back for the 3rd one). Since he is my all-time favorite actor, I hope he enjoys his well-deserved break.

I think a combination of actually great acting, good voice acting, and enough homage to the source material for real fans to love make it just a great watchable comedy/action movie series.
I would recommend watching Sonic X the series before Sonic The Hedgehog 3 comes out, because the storyline for the 3 movie will be EPIC!

Nah ignore that. Just enjoy the story of Sonic 3 without knowing what already happens.
Don't listen to the naysayers Sonic X is an amazing show and It'll show you future characters that will appear in the franchise like the live action Knuckles TV series that's coming and Sonic 3 so I would definitely recommend watching Sonic X for your own experience.

It may not be the best show ever but It's the best sonic the hedgehog series ever and I think the last season was amazing with the metarex, they were pretty cool.

Yes, in the games there are 7 chaos emeralds, which you're referring to but there's also a Master emerald in the game. Chaos emeralds and the master emerald are indeed separate gems but in the game lore whenever the chaos emeralds run out of power the master emerald can replenish the chaos emeralds' power and can also boost the power of the 7 chaos emeralds which would give Sonic a new form, a more powerful form than Super Sonic and this form is called Hyper Sonic. Not sure if they'll include this form in the future movies. Also in the games the master emerald is huge compared to the movie version. Once again, loved your reaction. Really had goosebumps when Sonic turned Super Sonic in this movie. This is my favorite Sonic. Sheesh
I may have to recheck the lore but it was either in Sonic Adventure or the Sonic X anime that stated the Echidna Warriors used the Master Emerald to forge the Chaos Emeralds??? I need to fact check.
@@cmrobbins88 I don't know about Sonic X, but that's certainly not game lore. Adventure only establishes that they had a shrine that housed the emeralds, not any specific origins. Later games also contradict the idea that the echidnas made them; for instance in Unleashed the emeralds are established as playing in an important role with Dark and Light Gaia in a cycle that happens once every few million years, putting their origins far back before the echidnas.

It's been confirmed that he will return for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
I've seen this movie 3 times in theaters because I loved the story, plot, action, CGI and Sonic the Hedgehog was fantastic, Tails was great, Knuckles the Echidna was awesome and of course, Robotnik aka Eggman was amazingly badass along with being hilarious. Great reaction Magy, Cannot wait for Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

I was in a fully packed theater for this movie and in the mid credits when Shadow appeared more than half the people in the theater (myself included) screamed at the top of our lungs!!!!!
And I loved that rather than get another famous celebrity they actually cast Colleen O'Shaughnessey who has voiced Tails for over a decade to play him.👏🏽👏🏽

This draws even more from the games, most notably the first one, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. Shadow the Hedgehog made his debut in Sonic Adventure 2, then followed that up with Sonic Heroes and his own game. You should definitely check out the Sonic the Hedgehog animated series, not to be confused with Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

Idris Elba played knuckles really well well like he has this very serious voice and his funny at times and some of his movies hes also ripped like Hobbs and Shaw.. and Im so excited for what there going to do in the future for sonic besides bringing in shadow and I hope they bring silver ,Amy, espio, charmy ,vector, cream and sticks.

Knuckles kept cracking me up and I just loved his whole warrior persona this movie and I Loved how Eggman looks more like the game in this movie he only needs to be a little fatter haha . And I SCREAMED in the theater when I saw Shadow the Hedgehog teaser he is my all time favorite in the Sonic franchise we both are very edgy 🖤💀 . Happy to see you react this early to it !! ❤️❤️❤️

Great reaction! Super Sonic can be played in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by getting all the chaos emeralds in hidden stages & getting over 50 rings.
You should watch the deleted scenes. The mushroom planet deleted version is funny and weird, Robotnik is high in that deleted scene.
If Jim Carey wants to take a break, they can make the next movie without him and just have Shadow pared up with another villian and then for Sonic 4, Eggman can return and built Metal Sonic! They can make Metal Sonic the ultimate killing machine, that will require everyone to team up.

Lol well Magy Sonic does reference the MCU and Marvel several times xD. So it may exist in this world. He references X Men and The Winter Solider lol. Which is awesome for movie goers in general.

Much more of a video game than the last movie but still Jim Carrey was the only one who could really play robotic. The only thing they could have done really better with this is putting the anxiety inducing soundtrack when drowning. Everyone who played the game remembers that sound.

Sonic the hedgehog 2 was very well done in honor of the original video games and everything else that has came out to follow everything that it's based off perfect for Sonic fans and hardcore Sonic fans
I would recommend watching Sonic x the series before Sonic 3 comes out just to get some backstory on project shadow I can't wait for Sonic 3 if it is going to be green lit and have a release date soon I hope Jim Carrey comes back or someone else takes over a different bad guy or something of the sort 😀

The game was that Robotnik created metal sonic to beat the real sonic the emeralds were optional u could collect them and unlock super sayian sonic Knuckles first appeared in the 3rd game trying to prevent sonic from collecting the master emerald that knuckles guarded
You can drive over water with a snowmobile for a short time if you go fast enough about a few hundred feet so it's not that unique.
