Three things stuck out to me this year, spectating as an aging skater.
1. Real street lip skills
2. Hillbombs esp without speed checks, or traffic lookouts
3. Ollies…are Enormous and effortless to the new Set. Just watched a clip of someone olliing over a supercar..from flat. that’s probably a meters worth of pop + six feet across maybe more.. plus its a Ferrari..so the risk to reward factor was significant.
These skaters today show how much the fundamentals still can be pushed. And you must hard wire them in if you want to skate for a long period of your lives. The general public has no idea how skilled you have to be just to get to the features in a real street scenario. If you can ollie onto a picnic
table..you level up..if you kickflip one LENGTHWISE from flat..and its wired like these kids have it..thats magic powers. Control most people don’t understand..and when a skater has confidence in the fundamentals..they stay safer, take less time hitting spots, and make old Kooks write long af comments

Tom Asta/Blake Johnson/Maurio McCoy and Justin Sommer should start a new board brand under NHS.....I feel like they all don't really fit in with SC or Creature..but at the same time they do..lol...but they all kind of have a similar aesthetic..skate and style wise...
Couldn't agree more. They have more of a Primitive vibe to them. They need their own thing at NHS.
