For those who don’t know, this guy is talking about the Exclusive Trex, which was a promo/raffle set from Europe, made to celebrate the release of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. There were only 500 copies made, and they now sell for like $4000, if you can find someone who is willing to sell it to you. Although it prob wasn’t included in the video because it was a raffle set, and not a retail set like the others in the video.

With Lego owning Bricklink I am sure they are aware of these prices of highly sought animals. It would seem like a wise business move to re-release the pricier ones. I got back into Lego in my 30's and now it's been 10 years since we got us a Rancor.
Maybe lego employees aren't finished selling their rancors yet? 🤷♂️😅
Re-releasing unique parts negatively affects Lego business, because it undermines collectors and values of Lego - and that is the thing that differentiates Lego from off-brand companies. If Lego company re-released their pieces, instead of making new molds/colors, then they would devaluate its own bricks, their brand and question the value for investors/buyers - also re-released bricks makes often less money, less people are willing to spend money for them.
Also, the limited availability is what sells the sets, it is FOMO.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to get the Rancor for cheaper (I do not have one yet), but I do not think that will ever happen, and in the end it is for good... imagine you would buy one now for 120 EUR and Lego would wreck its price, wouldn't you be mad? :)
Releasing new colors/molds makes everyone happy and is win/win situation.

@@SkyKid002 they've only been in 2 sets, I think. First in an Indiana Jones Crystal Skull set, and then many years later in an Ant Man set.
I actually rediscovered my dark grey elephant in storage. Ordered the back legs, and now it adorns my street, free and unrestrained.
It's nice to know that if I'm ever strapped for cash, I have a nice $300 Smaug to fall back on. I have most of the expensive animals on this list, actually.

Hey spitbrix! I was looking at a lego set box that i was about to build and noticed that theres a mistake in the picture. Its very small but its a hat thats upside down in set 10313. You can see it on the back of the box on the lilac!
I dont know how but i search for lego animals so i can make a zoo and i find a granny that sell me 9 lego animals (2 elephants, a deer, a cocodrile, and 5 sheeps for only 2 dollars and she say that is her’s grand son colection but have a figth so sell all his legos lol😂

iirc the reason we went so long without a goat was because the mold was accidentally destroyed. They didnt realize it had been destroyed until they wanted to put one in the jurrasic park t-rex set
