Lyrics
Red light, green light
I'm coming home tonight
Burning the freeway
Out of control
Red light, dead lines
We streak from town to town
I's too much, I need your touch
I've been away too long
Out again upon the thunder road
Driving back to you where I belong
I've had enough
Dreams can wait
I'm coming home
Spotlights, wild nights
I know it wrong from right
Places, the faces
All look the same
Hot wired, so tired
Living from song to song
The madness, the badness
It's just a game
Watch the sunrise
From coast to coast
That's when I need your loving
Oh! That's when I need it most
Can't explain, it's something in the blood
Wouldn't change it even if I could
Underrated song that needs to be recognised more.
Could easy be on firepower, timeless masterpiece
My old lovely neighbors who introduced me to priest didn't even know this existed. And they've seen the priest live too many times to count 🤣 Was a bonus on my CD. Easily one of my new favorites.
I've been a metal head for decades. How this song slipped past me for so long, I'll never know.
Shelved and only on reissue of Point Of Entry. Just discovered it in 2020. Pissed my pants when I first hear it hear on RUclips as a "suggestion". Must have played it 100 times or more in the last year or two!
it's a left over & wasn't on Ram it down. I was Looking at the list of Videos on this & was wondering why all these newbies
used the Point of entry LP cover for this song? THEN i see it's also on the "official Judas priest" YT channel.
Making a Judas priest Video & going over some songs & Lyrics to talk about.
You’ve found it, that’s all that matters.
The solo is epic!
Halfords voice is always amazingng...but something about how he sings this song brings it to another level
Higher pitch. I LOVE it but played it for my Brother In Law and he was turned off by the high pitch.
It's better than his painkiller voice by miles imo
Another level and then brings more. The one and only Rob Halford!
Wow! A crime to not be on Ram it Down
That would be my album of choice to put this song on. Sounds SO MUCH like that album!
the crime of the century my friend! is better by far than love zone or monsters of rock
@@briansauer6695 it sounds like that because it was recorded for Ram it Down. For some reason JP put all sorts of extras out of order on all the remasters.
We are hitting levels of 80's cruisin' that shouldn't be possible
Only Judas Priest can afford themselves to throw out from the album songs which are so great, that other bands can't even imagine to write.
Well even the great Judas Priest ain't infallible. NO ONE IS.
In the case of Judas Priest, they throw out a song that is great then replace it with the godawful "Johnny B. Goode".
@@EminencePhront Yeah, what the fuck were they thinking!?
@@EminencePhront I kind of liked Johnny B Goode and although Thunder Road got shelved, it made for new gold by JP in these modern years. I just discovered it in 2020 as I only bought a couple of the remastered CD's. I heard this song here on RUclips and nearly crapped my pants! LOVE this song!!!
@@EminencePhront I thought it was a pretty good cover, personally. Love You to Death is the song I could have done without on that album.
Priest is so awesome that even their leftover album tracks are great.
How is this not a better known song? I think it's one of their best tracks!
I keep changing my RUclips name..... because this song wasn't on the original album...not sure who made that decision but they deserve a punch in the head...cheers
"Originally, the song "Thunder Road" was to be put on the album [Ram It Down]; however, after the album producers were asked to do the cover of "Johnny B. Goode", "Thunder Road" was replaced. Some of the parts from the song made it into the cover of "Johnny B. Goode". "Thunder Road" was released as a bonus track on the 2001 remaster of Point of Entry." From Ram It Down Wikipedia page.
Basically the song wasn't a thing before 2001, wich explains its lack of notoriety.
needs more TRAINS Definitely! \m/
I'm just grateful that they released it ultimately as a bonus track for the Remasters. I was in the midst of buying Priest albums when they announced the release of the Remasters back in 2000. So I had to hold off buying Priest albums until they came out. Until that point, I only had Painkiller, Jugulator, British Steel, Defenders and Turbo, all original versions (mind you, Jugulator and Demolition never got remastered seeing how disappointing they were to many, but not to me)
@@0xilipe0 I think the producers watched a lot of back 2 the future for that recommendation.
Am I the only girl liking Heavy metal?
This is awesome shit....
hell yea
Você não é mais so uma garota, agora tu és cria do inferno querida e vida longa a você 😂
Need more like you in this world 🤘🏻
you are not alone :D
Ur not the only one hah
That opening riff is so badass
You can hear when Glenn and kk trade off the leads and rythym during the solo. Fucking awesome.
judas priest ❤
Mind Blowing Holy Jesus Christ.
There are a trillion decent guitar solos out there, but this is personally my favourite of all time,And it’s not even a complexed noodle wank.I fucking love Glenn Tipton
Same here mate ! People are not talking that much about the solo but it's so damn good ! Probably their best one
This solo just sounds so cool
First True Metal Band!
Josh Bowerman Black Sabbath came first, but JP perfected metal.
@@Trout636 got it!!,,, ''sabbath'' the firts heavy metal band
You're all wrong! It was Blue Cheer. Hahaha...just joking, Sabbath were indeed the first.
Black Sabbath bro
I CREATORI DEL METAL ^_^
WHY this wasnt included in Ram It Down is mindboggling!
Because it had Turbo influences in it, they were scared it would tank Ram It Down.
Epic track! Wish it was on Ram It Down.
I love this song.
Me too. One of my favorites!
This perfectly fits Turbo's atmosphere and style. It's a masterpiece.
Ram It Down!
Real Heavy Metal
great song!
This awesome should have been added on Ram It Down, since that album originally came out in 1988, and Point of Entry came out in 1981. When I heard of the track on the POE remastered album, I was like, this song sounded more like it was from the twin turbo days, when reading about this song, it was recorded in Denmark in 1987. Awesome track regardless!
Rob "God" Halford!
Metal God :p
This is what I always play when I'm going home straight back from work at night.
I've never heard this one until 9/14/23 and it was supposedly from RAM IT DOWN, my favorite JP album. My God, this is a great song!!!
I NEVER HEARD TILL TODAY, AND I AM IN LOVE🥰😎
Wow this is metal!
Rob is a god. Love you.
a truly killer tune , should have been included to the album track listing !!!
Another great song that was not included in the Ram It Down album. But to me the more scandalous exclusion is All Fired Up from Turbo sessions!
This should have been on as bonus track on Ram It Down Remastered
Awesome vocals and guitar work
I've always loved this song. Great playing and amazing vocals by Rob from that era.
Great song
Judas Priest every day.
I still say Priest is better than Maiden
#THEMETALGODS
HAI RAGIONE SONO LORO GLI INVENTORI DELL' HEAVY METAL...GLI ALTRI HANNO SOLO COPIATO ^_^
Significantly better.
As far as taste goes that's very debatable but empirically yes, it is scientifically verifiable
Being a scientist, I can only support this hypothesis.
Lets enjoy both mate
Solid tune. I like the solo bass lines and the calm-before-the-storm part, that's not often heard on their tunes.
I find it strange that they didn't really let Ian do a lot of bass intros, just The Rage, Love Bites and Revolution to date.
It's kind of why I like Evening Star on Hell Bent For Leather. Nice quiet intro before they slam you!
@@vinaymulukutla358 it wasn't really a band decision, Ian has stated that he's found it easier to just stay in the pocket by doing root notes
@@wcnmvp3820 Could well be but Ian did state in the liner notes of Metal Works 73-93 the following: ''That and Love Bites were the only bass intros I ever got to do'' when talking about The Rage. I kind of detect a bit of lament in there.
Classic Priest. YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!
Best Ram it Down song, and it wasn’t even there officially.
The greatest ever.
Great song! Rob really drives it home!
Fuckin good! Rob's amazing voice. Great solo and that bass. Omfg lml
I love it!!!
ME 2🤩
Grandi e geniali , questa canzone trascina il cuore olte l' ostacoli...am coming home.
A W E S O M E 💓🥰
un gran tema de Judas Priest, poco frecuente pero lo llevo en el alma, grandes.
3:30 Bassline always puts me in a good mood.
Most underrated Priest song 🎵 this and running wild are way better than what they get credit for .. supreme ❤
Perhaps the greatest question ever was why this was left off of the record. I know it was taken off to put Johnny B. Goode on in it's place, but why did nobody think to remove something else from that album so this stayed on?
Pascal Farful I don’t know why they even had to choose Johnny B Goode over this one..
The answer is easy, suits man. The fkn suits...
@@Trout636 Because of that movie where this one was used
Take love zone out for this easy
Should have removed Lovezone.
Not that I don’t like Johnny B Goode, but this song should’ve been on Ram It Down instead.
We can say Johnny B Goode is one of the most successful songs of JP, because it made it on Johnny B Goode movie back in 1988
Palliare-CarpeDiem z.ú. Palliativa
Yeah that’s why they recorded/added it last minute instead of using this one, which I find kind of scummy but as long as they’re successful its not that much of an issue.
Daniel Ingram JBG over Love Zone or Love you to death?
I agree. This song is heavy, thunderous and insanely catchy whilst maintaining a firm grip on the raging metal pedal, why they left it off the record in favour of Johnny B.Goode is beyond me. Another song that would have been great on Ram It Down was Heart of a Lion. However, Priest gave it to Racer X to record as a gift. I even bought the Metalogy Box Set just for the Heart of a Lion demo that Priest recorded during the Turbo sessions.
I think in my opinion both should’ve been on the album.
What is it about the point of entry album that just makes it an amazing album to listen to while motorcycle riding
My friend said that the songs he didn't like in this album became cool when he heard them on the highway
This is one my favorites
It's a road trip album
Been riding since '84 and listening to Priest since I was 14 in '82. Although I love pretty much EVERY Priest song up until they split up, this album is right up in my top 3 favs by them. And you are right, although I don't listen while riding, quite often I have Heading Out To The Highway and Desert Plains in my head on long trips. I used to even play Heading Out just before "heading out" for a long road trip to really set the mood! Keep the shiny side up!
Supreme
Judas Priest
Yeah judas🤘🏻priest
what a song!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sick song, the vocals and instrumental sound very nice.
É a força do metal.
COMING HOOOOOOOOME YEAH
Great song underrated
Their best bonus song
Can´t wait for the new record!
I'm mad at Judas Priest for not getting this song on Ram It Down >:c
Look here we go'!
I'm grateful that they finally released it, even if it was several years later. Better late than never I suppose.
I'm actually glad they shelved it! I just discovered in it 2020 and I love it so much and I haven't overkilled myself on it since becoming a Priest fan in '82 as a teen!
Judas priest 💙
fantastica !
Que musica incrivel! A sensação de viagem que o album todo do point of entry é perfeito demais, como tem gente que critica esse album....
É um álbum bem subestimado, só tem pérola aqui também.
Increíble solo que se te clava en el corazón
Awesome song \m/
RED LIGHT!! GREEN LIGHT !!
This is it !!!!!
Fockin`ell. Love this song, I'm im a almost 40 a year old man listening to Priest since 25 years back
YES!!! Thx for posting...
I'm Still Listening 2022
ThunderRoad Rocks
I Remember ThunderRoad Being Released As A Bonus For Point Of Entry .
I Thought ThunderRoad Should Have Been Included On The Studio Album
Point Of Entry From The Beginning .
ThunderRoad Sounds Like Rolling Thunder On My

I Always Think Of My Husband & I Riding The Harley Around Lake Superior
Listening To ThunderRoad 😀
Beautiful song! OoO
Glenn Tipton, the genius mind.
Please do a Live double album of the "Firepower/ 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour".
That guitar tone .....my god ....brilliant ...digital metalizer boss 🤘
Is there any way to replicate this guitar tone besides that or the Rocktron?
Thunder Road down the freeway in my 18 wheeler all day!!!
I had a bike called "Thunder Road" by Huffy. I loved it but not as much as this song. This fn rocks!!!
This song sounds like it should've been on Days of Thunder, a great film which was basically Top Gun with NASCAR, ironic cause Priest originally would've been on the soundtrack for Top Gun.
@ Bullshit, just cause its a film about US Naval aviation don't make it propaganda, now that right there is a line of propaganda from The Man himself, and I don't listen to him, besides its a film about exceptionalism and strivin' to better yourself and becomin' a champ, basically its a sports movie with fighter jets, and besides that film didn't even have a whiff of politics unlike some other Military films I could name from that time.
4:25 Janick Gers wraps Adrian's ankle with a bandage and ties his shoelaces around, he climbs up a rock barefoot with Adrian on his back. Janick uses the straps in his backpack to aid him in climbing.
twin turbos
GREAT
Why wasn't this on Ram It Down instead of Love Zone
No nos vamos ha rendir
This song is pretty much Desert Plains on steroids seeing that lyrically it seems to be about missing family etc on tour and lusting to be reunited with them. Although much faster and heavier, it is also insanely melodic complete with an epic lead tradeoff between Tipton and Downing. I know Glenn and Ian were married with children back then and KK had a long term girlfriend at the time so probably wrote a lot of songs about missing their families.
Yeah, it really belongs as a part of point of entry.
Weird that it's released off point of entry as a bonus track when it REALLY sounds like its from ram it down? Either way one of their best songs ever!
bands go into studio with many ideas, songs, riffs, lyrics that they've been working on.there many reasons they never end up on albums.so many reasons for all of it but luckily everything JP records is an instant heavy metal classic!
Was an instant classic for me when I first heard it in 2020! Always love when bands reissue old albums with a shelved tune or two! Some bands should have kept some reissued ones shelved, but I love pretty much everything they ever put out until Rob left the band ! Maiden's Powerslave concert was my first, but it was Priest who won me over between the two as they didn't go the route Maiden went with the 7-10 minute "epic" tunes! Kept the reasonably short and simple.
better than most of the actual album
Says an Iron MAiden fan with all their shitty prolonged and boring LPs of the last 19 years ha ha
This song should be included in the ram it down (Along with fire burns below)
I forgot a small detail, it would be necessary to delete these two songs: Night Comes Down & Bloodstone
Totally
Yea, many of the songs that they included as extras in the re-mastered versions of their albums are very good and could've easily replaced some of the not so good songs on those albums.
I think if they put some more metal riffage into Fire Burns Below, it would have become one of the finest Priest songs ever. As it stands, the song is still absolutely magnificent.
Forget that, if they had released Twin Turbos instead of Turbo or Ram It Down, they would've probably had a MUCH BETTER product than those two combined, of course we probably would've gotten Painkiller or something close to it in '88 instead of Ram It Down.
@Cruz de Avis Interestin' list, although that would've been the disc for the more Hard Rocker Priest fanbase, it was gonna be a double LP, the second disc would've been the more Glam tracks like Locked In, Parental Guidance etc. etc etc.
Qué temazo
Oh yes !!! Good song .
I' was translate to hungary ! (...With low eanles speaking .)
Fine song to end of album !
Judas is real f,kin heavy metal
Judas Rules :)
Metal is a universal language regardless of where we come from. Greetings to all of the Hungarian metal heads from Massachusetts, U.S.A. \m/
So brutal....Rob`s voice is unhuman....
Love the Priest since Rocka Rolla was 9 years old and my brother gave me the album for my birthday it was also red picture disc like which was really cool Priest forever
I'm surprised they don't do this song live I believe Rob can pull it off because he's killing it on this invincible shield tour right now
I just wanna hear this and the roar of an old ford 289 screaming down mulsanne in a daytona coupe
2:25 That solo
Blew me away
Mtfkr is fucking amazing that riff in the verse gooooooood kk downing …your are so fucking badass god bless you 🙌🏻.
when i play it in my car, people first hear the song and then the engine
love amazing fucking song
That guitar solo could put chest hair on 3 year old boy\,,/(>.
....that's incredibly weird.....(but probably true)
