Granny you said somebody said you talk too much about food. To me food is a miracle. God created us to need food and he made it taste delicious. In addition to the taste and nutrition it comes with a lot of feelings. It's central to our survival and existence. That's pretty important stuff to talk about! Every day that I realize I get to eat something delicious and actually am required to in order to live, it makes me enjoy my food more!

Granny I love beef stew. Wish I could have some but if has been 90-100 for weeks here in south central Pennsylvania. Loved my mom’s food as a child and still enjoy it when I visit her in Florida.. love beef and gravy too yummy

Hey Granny! Maybe I missed it but did you tell us what is CAUSING your leg pain? Magnesium is good for muscle cramps. Sometimes pain can be caused by poor circulation. You might want to try raise your legs up in the air when you're lying in bed. In that position wiggle your feet in circles, pumped them, bend your knees to your chest, raise em up in the air again. Do it when you wake up and before you go to sleep. And anytime you're lying down. Hope this helps. It helped me

It's funny about the rice. I'm from Sumter, and I can't remember having beef stew without rice. Its interesting how different parts of the same state are so diverse. Your beef stew looks delicious, by the way!
It's laughable now, but as newlywed in 1970, I actually had to follow a recipe to make beef stew. 😅😅 I don't have any grandchildren, but if cooking like you cook qualifies me; then I'm a granny too😊❤❤❤
I make the same thing without the beef and a few more veggies and a 1/2 a cup of redwine! Mushrooms and peas ..with maybe some broccolli and cauliflower.Love pearl onions in my stew! I love carrotts but they took forever to cook so now I buy frozen! My mother was a horrible cook who liked to add things like kidneys...liver and oxtails to everything. Most meals I spent gagging!But I had a grandmother who made the best corn fritters and homemade maple syrup!
The stew looks delicious!! I agree about the texture of the potatoes changing after being put into the freezer. I'm discouraged today that I have to waste a pot of fresh green beans/ham and potatoes. When I was cleaning the potatoes I thought I smelled a hint of a perfume like scent but kept going. When my meal was done the entire dish tastes like that perfume like taste😢 I'm wondering if the potatoes were shipped in a container that was near a softener or detergent? Oh how I hate food waste but I can't salvage this meal.

Great! I got an Aldi prepared meal of meat and gravy and it was blech! LOL the meat is somewhat like compressed Alpo! No offence to any folks like Gizmo who'd love that presumably. LOL So at Publix next time I'll get carrots ( I have tates and onions ) to go in there to make up a few beef stews for hubbers to take for lunch. I love a good, hot, long summer ( I'm not good in cold ) but yesterday it stayed gray cloud covered all day and I never even had to put a fan on. The weather is just plain weird nowadays!
