I wish the xj was never stopped in 2019. If they want to build electric cars fine, don't stop building conventional engine cars. Offer both, electric for the Green energy people. Plenty of people out there who aren't green energy people. Bring back the xj in both formats. Don't kill the cars that made Jaguar great and famous.
You do know that it takes two to three times more petrol to produce the electricity for these ev than if you had just burned the petrol first. And it takes lots of petrol to make all the parts that is needed to build a ev. And the claim is that it will be 75 to 100 years before enough infrastructure will be in place to come close to the demand for ev. If the govt wasn't subsidizing the ev industry, it would never be a viable energy source. Technology is a long way from total electric!!! And carbon footprint is merely a talking point for a certain few rich people to get richer.
@@hbsharkman as soon as folks get 400 miles out of a recharge station located every 5 miles or so AND that takes 2 minutes to "fill", then you'll get people to go with electric cars. That's is 20+ years from now.
This is a forward thinking, progressive decision needed to help stop the carbon footprint our vehicles have on Earth. Jaguar Land Rover has announced this decision a few years ago, so I’ve been prepared for it and have been waiting patiently for years on the all electric XJ. For now, I’ve kept my XF but have purchased a Quattroporte GTS for my full sized sedan needs. Hopefully this new flagship will be my new Jaguar replacement in my garage.
Absolute madness. Going electric by killing off all your electric cars in late development then expecting customers and dealerships to wait about seven years between any new models . Commercial suicide.
If a person have placed an order of 6 Landrover Sentinals with 2000 kms ev range per charge, does he saved the value of all motor companies before a new company came up with 1000kms range. Does the royalty along with research is respected is more value that a spiritual leader with 31 Rolls Royce. Same for Audi a8 Security EV with 2000 kms range.
The Rare Metals War: the dark side of clean energy and digital technologies’ by Guillaume Pitron It may interest you to read 'The Rare Metals War: the dark side of clean energy and digital technologies’ by Guillaume Pitron before Jaguar go down the very expensive and potentially more environmentally damaging route of all electric cars. In essence, the very rare metals these cars need are mined in third world countries with appalling conditions for their work force. They require significant quantities of rock to be extracted to get the minute quantities of metal that will e extracted per tonne. They are very polluting to extract and then there is the loss of land scape, food production land and habitat . Then there is the re-cycling at the end of the life, or the lack there of. Scientists say we will be lucky if we can re-cycle just 10% of the rare metals used in these battery powered vehicles.
Jaguar is finally making beautiful and sexy cars that are fun to drive and pleasure to own. Jaguar cars now are in their best shape since E-type. And people start to like it again! There are so many of them in my town in Siberia. It means that conservative Russian people are not afraid to buy it anymore and trust Jag even with Russian terrible road and weather conditions. And now this Thierry guy comes to ruin it all for Jag! Thierry, get your hands of the best brand ever, please.
Along with that Range Rover has a production facility opened up in my Country India and also Volkswagen which needs to share the details of my car sale and also on many complaints has opened a factory about to move to grand stage in Canada where my brother stays
Since childhood I dreamed of owing a Land Rover, for many years it was something that seemed impossible but I finally fulfilled my dream with very hard work. I bought a Discovery Sport that turned into my worst. I am sorry to inform you that the deal you made in Colombia to sell the brand is making you look very bad. There’s no place to turn for help. I am definitely NOT the customer with unresolved issues and being mistreated in every way! Please, please hear me out, I am completely helpless!!
Go electric or go home. You will not be able to sell petrol/diesel in the UK before too long. If you want to sell cars in UK/Europe it has to go electric. Best do that early.
Try The Rare Metals War: the dark side of clean energy and digital technologies’ by Guillaume Pitron for a true picture of what going electric actually means rather than the narrative we are fed.
Rubbish, 2030 is a ban on the sale of new petrol or Diesel cars not a ban on driving petrol or diesel cars. Electric vehicles will never work, infrastructure will take 50yrs to get in place, Coaches, lorries and heavy plant are not capable of performing on electricity. Aircraft and ships will not run effectively on electric. Everything plastic or rubber is made from oil, this is absolute madness, nobody will buy them.
Electrification is a completely rational move, but not for energy bolshevik reasons, but for engineering, performance, reliability and luxury value reasons.
This video will go down in history as the moment Jaguar was put on life support
RIP Jaguar.

All electric by 2025? YOu'll ruin the brand ..Good luck with that Jaguar !

It’s pretty sad. I drove the iPace and the experience was not memorable at all. I think companies need to continue to offer both ICE and EV.
Name ONE EV that can do exactly the same thing a properly built IC engine can do....
all of them?

@Wooly Chewbakker True, but I also believe that with this new Reimagine strategy they’ll have a flagship model which is what I’m referring to.

This is the clown who started the whole DEI insanity at JLR.....now he'll get to watch the entire company burn and sink.
Such a shame.

Much of what he says is rubbish. renaissance again? What is wrong with the previous renaissance?

Sell electric in uk and europeand internal combustion engines everywhere else. Otherwise you might as well just shut them down all togerher.

Better sack your advisors and your development team. Your finished.
