Hi Leonard. From my end sat watching your vlog i prefer the picture and sound from the DJI. there is less distortion and a brighter picture from the DJI. the sound is nice and crisp and less wind noise from the DJI. might vote based on your video is the DJI Action 4. 👍
at around 3:40 and at other prior times the go-pro really looks distorted compared to the action4. Especially if you look at the shed in the background.
Another great vlog. I completely agree after being a gopro fan boy for years. The gopro is done now. Picture quality of the dji is so much better and now we have the wireless mic (if you have the pocket 3). The magnetic mount isnt really magnetic, the magnets just align the clips. I will miss the twist off lens cover, and the cpl/nd filters.
I was watching while my Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones were plugged in. Sound sounds better on the DJI, and from split screen, I liked the colour and contrast in that one too (there was one shot where GoPro looked better). Excellent video. Quite interesting. I'll be getting my insta out now that winter is arriving (or was...rain for Christmas day, apparently).
I have an Action 3. It's been great so far! You can get 360 degree horizontal levelling when using 2.7k resolution. I don't tend to use higher resolution anyway, due the the massive files generated, so it suits me. The stabilization is totally brilliant, as is the mounting method. You can buy a mount to convert gopro for use with action 3/4 mounts, and visa versa. Audio is brilliant on Action 3 (presumably same or better on action 4), except when in a cross wind. A home made windslayer or separate audio recorder sorts that out though. If i needed another I would buy the action 4, which is better in low light, otherwise may camera is brilliant for now. ... I forgot... Dewarp mode is brilliant too and stops bendy images at edges.
@@jollygoodvelo no worries, thanks for the reply. Honestly nowadays u don't see many youtubers actually interacting with their audience, you sir just won a subscriber :)
The action camera market has gotten exciting with the releases of DJI Action 4 and the Insta360 Ace Pro. It will be fun to see how GoPro reacts in the next release and what DJI and Insta360 do to push innovation. The action camera game was getting stale until this year. Good times for us consumers.
is it compatible with the Cycliq cameras for recording rides? Does it record normal (right side up) if it is upside down? I don’t like the fisheye effect in the Hero. Magnetic lock on is great😢 with the 4.
At 9:45 you don't look the same. I don't know which one is true to life but you do look different. Colours on GoPro seems nicer but Osmo 4 seems to have less distortions and less warp.
DJI is less distorted at the wide angle and the colour looks slightly brighter. The stabilisation and sound seems slightly better on the Go Pro. All comes to price really.
Thanks for the comparison but you forgot to mention something that it could be a total game-changer for moto-vloggers: the GoPro 12 has now the ability to connect to helmet com systems, like the Cardos', via Bluetooth and that includes their mics! So V-logging wirelessly, without the need for physical connections and cables.
For my money, on the side by side shots , GoPro is sharper every time. Sound pretty much the same. But in all honesty, any of the modern action cameras are gonna do a great job for the vast majority of us, particularly by the time we are watching them on a phone or iPad.
Hey Adam, I have turned the sharpness setting down to its lowest on both cameras and they are still pretty sharp. I’m not a fan of it looking too much like video!
Man the GoPro have a really bad fish eye effect on the wide setting. And since the GoPro is the same as ever with a few internal upgrades I don't see it competing with the Action 4 in the moto vlogger segment where more and more people switch to either action 4 or insta 360 cameras.
The biggest thing i notice is the wide angle lens distortion is much greater with the GoPro v the DJI.

Excellent comparison job - in terms of design and content - Leonard. You're the master of clarification 😊
Thanks! 👍
Yes I’m definitely getting the DJI osmo action 4 based on colour and sound. Totally bad ass cam

Yes, the clips on the mount is the thing that makes it secure.
They both look good to me.

I think the audio on both cameras is pretty good but the Action 4 has the edge.
wow I like that magnetic mount
Cool, is t it!
those aligning magnets tho
Do you have a link of all you most used mounts?

Nice comparison. How's the gopro faring by now, any problems since the video?
Must admit that I haven’t really used it. I will be trying it out a bit more in the coming weeks, though.

Hopefully they will improve their reliability

The fish eye effect is pretty pronounced
I've always thought DJI would be more reliable..
It’s much more reliable

It does!
can't use just the screw the gopro to any standard tripod without using the gopro feet?
You can indeed; I just noticed it had that little screw mount but you will still have to keep unscrewing and screwing on different mounts.
@@jollygoodvelo does the media mod work if you use that bottom screw hole?
@@TheFloridaBikeVlogger Unfortunately i don’t have the media mod so I don’t know.

Thanks. That is a really great point. I vlog on a regular bicycle so didn’t know about the helmet system.

The GoPro is a lot more fisheye on the stabilised settings than the action 4. I think some people might like it, some might not.
Scam alert, dji is a Chinese company that requires you to download Chinese software that is not available on Google Play Store or Apple store.
Did you actually think this through before writing this comment?
