She said it was absolutely horrific and that her mother was on the phone with her hiding in a bathroom as the shots rang out and other people were with her screaming the whole time. I remember feeling so unsettled by it because you hear these big stories in the news and sometimes it just sounds like stories until you meet the real people impacted by these events and it suddenly becomes very real. Not sure if there’s any conspiracy with the SWAT or anything but I think the victims families would not want to hear this

I think what makes this so tragic is that she was genuinely a loving person. Like even as a famous singer she would jump into her fans arms. I think because she started on RUclips vs traditional music industry, she was actually down to earth.

I literally cannot fathom how Christina Grimmie had her life cut short in such a violent senseless way. She was the definition of "kind-hearted, "fun", "loving", "caring" and all the other compliments in the world that anyone could think of, and to see her life get snatched from her while greeting her fans with a hug after a night of performing like any other that young and in that way genuinely makes me so sad I can't even imagine it. As someone who was a fan of Grimmie when her channel just was getting started, this really hit me. I was in middle school when I started watching her, and absolutely loved her voice, personality, and everything she contributed to the world. I was also a smash player in tournaments at the time, and Grimmie was as well, which made me want to meet her even more. I still remember exactly where I was when I found out she died. I had just finished a highschool exam in the morning, when a friend messaged me saying she was shot the night before, I genuinely didn't believe it and proceeded to my part time job. On my work break, I looked it up online and broke down in the breakroom. I asked my manager to go home early. To this day, I alongside many others miss her so so much. RIP Christina Grimmie

R.I.P Christina. I watched some of her videos this year. Her singing talent was amazing. Now I see why she’s a legend.
I honestly didn't know about Christina's RUclips career at all and first heard of her on the Voice (my family used to love watching the show). Even though she didn't win, she left a lasting impression ( my mom in particular was upset that she lost). It is heart-breakingly sad, I remember reading about her murder while on break at work and was so stunned. I just cannot understand what goes on in a person's head to end someone's life like that, especially someone as kind and sweet as she was.

I personally believe her murder is a big reason why a lot of singers and other famous people in the West don’t have the same kind of fan meet ups they used to have. Her death changed fandom culture in the West forever.
If you look at Kpop, face to face fan meet ups still happen in Korea, but the difference is that the general population cannot buy guns and therefore there is almost no risk and it’s a lot safer.
Christina used a lot of tactics on SNS to develop a parasocial relationship with her fans that many Kpop idols use normally. Unfortunately this would also be the thing that lead to her death. All it takes is one crazy, sick individual to ruin things. RIP Christina, you deserved better and may your legacy continue.

Internet celebrities did this a lot too. But things changed after Christina died though, those kind of events never really happened again...
I wouldn't say KPop meet up are safer, I mean one fan walked onto a staged and grabbed Taeyeon from Girls Generation and walked off staged with her. He got all the way to the end before security got involved. One member of Vixx was actually kidnapped in Kazakhstan by the ruler because his daughter was a huge fan!! However with America, they have a huge mental health epidemic which is caused by the fact that 90 percent of the world's big pharma is consumed in US. So with a country swarming with people that has mental health issues, added to the fact they are allowed to carry guns, as you can imagine it's a bad combo

And btw I have a mental health issue myself, and medication for it saved my life and made my life and my family’s lives better so not sure why you’re against “big pharma”.
