The video itself is extremely well done and informative. Soothing voice too. Very entertaining. Hopefully, you'll do more videos in the future. Cheers!
4:07 That's a game in japan which kids play and also adults in a Japanese tv show called TAKESHI'S CASTLE So one player the "denner" says some thing and truns around and if he sees his friend (who are trying to approach him) moving they go back to the start or are eliminated the person who reaches the "denner" first without being noticed wins😁
I'll add one thing : if you ever go to Japan, go try the arcade version with the big ass taiko drum controller. This shit is so fun to hit I spent thousands of yens playing it (well 2k yen is not even 20 dollars so it's not like I ruined myself, but still, played the shit out of these drums)
Actually, ume (plum), take (bamboo), and matsu (pine). Which is a common "small, greater, greatest" phrase in Japanese. Oni (a demon/devilish yokai) is of course the most hellish to complete. ;)
I really think more people should make it clear you don't have to swing the Joy-Cons diagonally to hit the Ka. Using the Don motion will hit Ka and Don just fine. I have perfected songs on the hardest difficulty using motion controls after I realized that. Was not easy at all by any means and took several hours, but I still managed to do it. You can use the respective motions to add a bit of flare to the song, since it will register the noise based on which way you swing and it is comical to do during long pauses. Hitting doubles is not a penalty either since the game only registers a miss if it's close enough or scrolls by, hence what I said earlier about messing around. It also registers doubles since the game has an alternate method of hitting the big Don/Ka by rapidly moving a single Joy-Con. You can use both to hit the big ones, so I wonder why they decided to include that other option since it only screws you up during rapid notes. If the Switch has as many entries as the Wii U did, maybe they will cut that feature out. I would just prefer this one to have years of DLC.
Yeah I have actually noticed that trying to hit the Ka notes diagonally isn’t needed. I’m not sure why they decided to do that because one of the characters allows you to hit both note types with a normal swing, so it makes it seem like it’s a bug. I wish there was a way to turn it off because it makes playing the intended way seem pointless. But yeah if you choose to ignore diagonal notes it’s makes the harder songs more tolerable on motion controls.
4:08 I'm pretty sure if anyone stumbles upon this video in 2021 Fall - or anytime after having seen squid game - there won't be a question as to what game it is 😂
Duddee you ought to have more subscribers, you got a good thing going with the "Hi I'm good at games" the great edits and your great narration deserve more views
I ordered this game yesterday from Amazon.ca. I used to own Donkey Konga on Gamecube back in the day & this game reminds me of that game, can't wait to play it on my Switch
I myself play Taiko for quite some time and got a Switch with this title in mind (even though I bought Taiko no Tatsujin for the PS4 little before getting the Switch). The motion controls are really, but I'll definitely get a chinese drum counterpart (DOBE) because those are less than half the price of a Hori one. Nice review, never thought I'd see one in english for this kind of game.
I played this game all the time on my psp, but unfortunately my psp is slowly dying. So i decided to purchase the switch solely for Taiko no Tatsujin lmao. I don't know how to explain it, but playing it on the psp felt more satisfying than the switch :'). Ima still play it though cause this shit was $300
you should mention that in parade mode/party mode, when you play a mini game, and you get towards the end of the mini game, it will put ??? is the score and so you don’t know the score
MtXon theory’s You start with most of the songs and unlock more as you play. There are a few paid song packs you can get as well, such as the Studio Ghibli pack and Hatsune Miku pack. All the ones in the video come with the game.

Just want to say when u said “demon can” it actually means extreme or in real Japanese it says demon that could kidnap your child or hurt your child and no joke that is a thing in Japan
Poor advice. You could play guitar hero with buttons as well but it doesnt feel that cool. For taiko, there are various freely downloadables for gba, ds and 3ds. If taiko is not your thing you will know far in advance. If taiko IS your thing, the drums are a must have.
To each there own I guess. Aside from the real arcade drum controller I actually like playing with trigger and face buttons best. I recently got the Hori drum controller and really regret it. Too loud, and the hit detection is iffy. It also has some input lag that I don’t notice when using other control methods, but that could be a lot of things.

Looks like Taiko has a big following in the West, rather than having a Klonoa-typed following as it previously had.

Rhythm Heaven is discount Taiko lmao
No
Taiko no Tatsujin is more to Rhythm Heaven on steroids
Currently the game has an english patch!

I love how this game is getting a lot of love
I love this game with all of my weeb heart and I want more people to play it
But its 60€/$ and the gameplay is really bad... why should we?
@@a.k.8719 Taiko is really not for anyone. If you want to try it without spending 60 bucks then you can play Taiko Web (Fangame)

not anymore lol sorry

Works perfectly. I play 95% using the touch controls and I play 10star expert. So no ceiling there
Once again, awesome job! I really like your review style. And this game is adorable.
Watching people covering obscure games that I enjoy always get a like from me!

Taiko no tatsujin:im about to end this whole man career
I saw a japanese player finish the hardest song on Oni mode with motion controls. It was crazy as hell.
make more reviews man they’re amazing:)

And here I was feeling bad because I couldn't perfect a song with the motion controls. That explains a lot.
Leo Stephan Yeah, and I mean, if you couldn’t do it, there’s no hope for the rest of us!
