Thank you very mutch! It worked for me. Make sure to check the connections before testing the battery. I reused the remaining glue, lets see if it will hold properly :)
Very nice video but It seems there are so many things to break during battery removement process, I can't do that by myself without destroying the phone. Also, I think manufacturers should make easier to replace the batteries of their phones. I don't undestand why batteries are not removable any more on the phones when they are not IP67-68 compliant
I get your point, but thats marketing. Not only that, they want you to pay them to replace the battery, which is expensive and ridiculous, considering this is your phone. So, you can show them the finger and open the smartphone yourself and thank god we have videos like these.
Just a question out of curiosity: Why do we need to remove the motherboard? I did not and was able to remove the battery. Had to remove it quickly because it was already close to bursting, the back has already detached itself. And I found the back sticker, but where to buy the battery sticker?
Pay attention when trying to remove the battery. I tried on my spare Honor 9 (which so far has been lying in my closet, since I didn't use it anymore) and the glue was so strong that a card couldn't remove it. I had the bad idea to pry up with a screwdriver, I made a small physical damage and the battery was about to catch fire (lithium ion batteries can catch fire also due to physical damages). I had to stop and bring everything to the landfill, warning the staff that the device had a potentially dangerous battery on it.
My screen doesnt turn on after doing the replacement. When I hold down the power button it vibrates but the screen stays black. Does anyone have a solution?
Hi, this happened to me, I just removed the motherboard again and put it back in, if somethings not clicked in it wont turn on. Also, if you are trying to turn it on without the motherboard casing, you may need to apply pressure to the motherboard while holding down the on button. Hope this helps
Hello i changed the battery in honor 9 and everything went fine. but when i started the phone the home button with fingerprint doesnt work its completely dead. any ideas?
Replaced my battery and tested everything and it was fine. Then when I wanted to charge the battery it won't charge. I get the sound of plugging the cable in but nothing happens. The charger and usb port are fine though. Any ideas?
Hi, I just changed the battery, everything seemed to works fine but when I tried to charge it up, it didn't charge. So I reopened the case and I figured out that one of the connector wasn't well connected, I pushed it all the way up and now it works. I hope can you solve this problem.
Думаю, чтобы не повредить во время отклеивания батареи от корпуса. Хотя хз. Мож хотел мужик в качестве личной инициативы показать, что всё там просто устроено.

is it really necessary to remove the motherboard?
Nope, but it helps a lot when removing the battery. I tried it without removing the motherboard and I had a hard time, plus I damaged the battery.
