When you watch that race again, you have to appreciate the quality of that field, they are all Grade 1 winning horses with a Gold Cup and Welsh National winner, a King George winner (now), dual Betfair Chase winner (now), Grade 1 winning novice and a Grade 1 winning staying hurdler. I mean wow, what a performance from Bristol De Mai on that ground too!
Bristol de mai does it again today, I lumped on once the ground turned heavy at his fav course. I took 4/1 last night, Friday. He ended up 5/2 I think. Jumped beautiful again.
@Barry W I do. Might Bite doesnt appear up to it and wasn't all that impressive in the race last year despite winning. Native River is less suited and BDM, well I can't see him going as well around Kempton. Coneygree is interesting but with smaller fences, and a track he's proven he loves, Thistlecrack won't be denied imo.
Couldn't Agree more.. I said that halfway through the race.. That Thistlecrack lost many many lengths jumping.. If he jumps nothing will get near him.. He could win the World Hurdle on the Bridle
He ran some race alright. Those fences are tougher than any other track in the UK. He'll be going for the KIng George. Who wants to win a world hurdle really?
Might bite terrible run there but considering he from Henderson's yard hes well still in with shout of the king George and gold cup Henderson's stable onl getting going now although love c one from Ireland win them all
Thistlecrack wins the King George in my book. They haven’t sent him back hurdling like last time he came back from injury which means this time they know he’s fit. Can’t wait to get there on Boxing Day. Best days racing for me. He was bolting up there at the end.
A third of the horses in the chases unseated or fell at Haydock on Saturday. Thistlecrack will come on massively for that run and the fences have been slated for being too high and testing. Get the jumping cleaned up and Thistlecrack becomes a major player again for the big prizes.
Thistlecrack still wasting too much time & energy in the air over his fences but a decent run that & Tom Scu wasn’t asking too much from him. Interesting.
Scu's face said it all after. He was delighted. Im sure Tizzard didnt do too much schooling with him and he'll improve for the run. Interesting going foward
Everybody’s saying it’s just Haydock but I was on might bite for last years King George and for a long while I was bricking it because Bristol de mai was looking like he was gonna bolt up. This year he’s come of age and I’m backing him for the gold cup coz he has been under estimated just like Summerville boy last year when the facts were there for all to see
Mite Bite again displaying a distinct lack of stamina ; the reason he will never win a Gold Cup . Neither will Bristol De Mai , as that horse hates Cheltenham .
Stupid comment! No stamina? RSA winner after pulling himself up on run in? Close 2nd in gold cup on heavy ground well clear of the 3rd? You really should do some homework before ridiculous comments
If AP McCoy , Mick Fitzgerald and Nicky Henderson himself , have all voiced concerns about Mite Bites stamina , then maybe there is something in it . If you watch last year's King George , Mite Bite made quite heavy weather of winning that race on an easy 3 mile course - and I backed him , and for the 2018 Gold Cup .
Mite Bite emptied again on the run in . He did the same at Cheltenham when looking all over the winner and emptied out in last years in King George too. Run this nag over 2 miles and make the running he's the new Sprinter Sacre . Nothing will catch him. Its so obvious he's not a 3 miler
that is a daft comment, would have won a gold cup on heavy ground without Native River running. He's thrown his head up in the air 2 out and decided not to go through with the run. He's a very quirky horse. It isn't through a lack of stamina he didn't win here
@Wayne Harrison Yeah, i know, and the animal rights people. Only wanted to watch the replay to see how much ground Clan des Obeaux was losing jumping to his right, but couldnt help but respond to that
@Wayne Harrison Fancy Coneygree, dont think anything will be able to lie up with him on good ground and he'll force plenty of mistakes out the others. Clan des Obeaux should be better for going RH. Too many questions marks over the others for me. Good luck with WP
This was a total fix the two favs were not fit its disgusting horses being trained in public what a croc the bookies loved it punters mugged off again nothing done tho no one gives a fuck

Once Thistlecrack gets his jumping together, which he will, it's over for everyone !
@Barry W I do. Might Bite doesnt appear up to it and wasn't all that impressive in the race last year despite winning. For sure ... And need a little bit more fitness

@Annie Buddyhome . Prefer not to these days actually :)
Thistlecrack has some engine. Pity he can't jump
should send him back to hurdling
He ran some race alright. Those fences are tougher than any other track in the UK. He'll be going for the KIng George. Who wants to win a world hurdle really?
If Thistlecrack fix his jumping and getting more fit we will see something else
it is a long time since he ran he is a great jumper next run you well see a better horse
da bristool was used to ground so he as best he loves haydocjk
This makes me think waiting patiently has an even better chance in the king George...
will he run befor the king George pal
Kevin Barry not a clue tbf mate I hope so tho
Thistlecrack is the man
Might bite terrible run there but considering he from Henderson's yard hes well still in with shout of the king George and gold cup Henderson's stable onl getting going now although love c one from Ireland win them all
Appreciate with commercial buildings mixed developments there

Good input. Did it take you a while to come up with that?
Yeah, I was at the track that day and I did back him. So what’s your point?
Blimey, you are really aggressive. I hope your life gets better mate. 👍

Bristol de mai, native river 2 best horses in that race Thistlecrack times came and gone trust me might bite to dodgy 2 throw money 💰on

bristol loves haydock
Thistlecrack should have stayed hurdling unbeatable over hurdles sad but his jumping costs him lengths every time he gets to a fence
He wouldn't of won a king George then though would he?
Thistle jungle bell merry Christmas 🤶
Nice racecourse nearly extravagant with Residences Mall would jump stocks gross more

ThefightingCelt this is such a stupid comment I don’t know where to begin
Try at the beginning . Go on , articulate your thoughts on the matter . The floor is all yours . Knock yourself out .

The fact that this race was 3 mile 2 and the ground was good didn’t help but I still have issues with might bites stamina over 3 miles plus

Go on the Bristol de mai had £30 on it good thing
+George Spence not being cheeky Stuart it'll take a lot of beating (King George)
Bristol de mai.... 2nd last game over get on

Had my money on BDM. 😁 His last year's win on the same ground was phenomenal.
Same ground lol... last year was a bog
Last year's ground was bottomless
