Here's a story I can almost guarantee you've never read by an author there's a strong chance you've never heard of. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. CONTENT ADVICE: 😱 a piercing scream.
Dear Mr Jasper, I nominate a story called Curfew by Lucy Maria Boston. She absolutely nails an MR James vibe with this one….. the haunted artifact (a bell), an innocent family and a nasty nasty guardian. Check it out when you have time.
Its a good one. Ms Boston absolutely nails Monty on this one. My only issue with it is the title…. Should have been “The Judas Bell” which would have made more sense imho. Check it out you will be pleased!
Ha ha! Hearing Andreowicz described, I can't help seeing David Tennant. Although maybe not "well built ", definitely long arms, narrow face, deep set eyes, lots of thick reddis brown hair that grows form his head to his face, ( and down his neck and chest), and fascinating to women! Is there something going on that he's not letting on... hmmm? 😁 But seriously, thank you Jasper, another excellent presentation, I had never even guessed that this story or author even existed. A much appreciated surprise. 🐺
I think you’ve raised the bar with that story Jasper. The narration together with the subtle ( except for the blood curdling scream) sound effects, really made for an immersive experience. Thanks again.
Spooky little tale for sure, but wow, Jasper. That epilogue was so incredibly well acted, and what a clever bit of tweaking to the audio! Worked very well. Thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into these ❤
Fantastic story and narration! The sound of the narrator writing totally paints a picture of the terror, fear, and mental state of the narrator. Well done!
Thank you. I made the hard choice not to continue regularly using the theme because sometimes the licence changes on "copyright free" music (it's happened with other music on one or two of my videos) and I'd no longer receive revenue for any of the videos with that theme. It wasn't a risk I wanted to take. Glad you enjoy the stories.

Found the story good but not great but your reading, music, sound choices and editing elevated it to a real joy. Probabably one of your best readings yet. Didnt quite see the sense of the title though 🤔 Maybe enlighten me?
To be honest, Michael. I quite often don't understand the stories myself so your guess is as good as mine! 😆 I'd say she thought "Wood of Living Trees" just sounded a bit scary. But at the start in the prologue Cedric talks about there being an evil spell over the woods. I suppose the wood got its name from superstitions and sightings of the evil creature that dwelled there and gave people the idea that there was movement in the trees. Later on they say something about how names stick to places.

Sometimes, a piercing scream is the only thing that can make you feel content.
Russian werewolves are pretty lame if virtual invalids can kill them with their bare hands. Is Lon Chaney Jr happy about this ? No…no he is not
Hearing Andreyvich makes me long to hear Jasper L'Estrange's version of "Dracula's Guest".

Brilliant.
I loved it. Thank you.
Loved it! Thx Jasper 💜
You're welcome 👍
I don't know if I should be more scared of trees, four legged beasts, or Russians from this tale. This one is all over the place
The wood has a reputation for living trees because a werewolf stalks it. I didn't find it that confounding, but point taken.

Fantastic story and amazing reading! But thr thing that is bothering me, where did Maners meet Antonvich before? Why did have the feeling he knew him?
Listen to the prologue/epilogue again. It's a storÿ about reincarnation and divine intervention.

Seriously, an absolute belter of an episode thanks!
