Hi that's a great question. As long as you follow the instructions we outline and are careful to not apply too much of the remover we find the line is incredibly crisp-as crisp as the vinyl mask itself. Thanks!
@@Nilocseel I had already removed all the painted area then bought the hydrochloric acid. I have another batch to do to try that. Typically the acid won't eat thru petroleum-based items.
Why would you remove paint first, then re-paint? Wouldn’t it be more time efficient to apply the stencil first, then remove only the paint covering the mirroring you wish to remove? Thanks.
That is a great question! We find that by following the process we outline in the video you can ensure a crisp line. Paint strippers and Mirror Removers are not able to stop at a precise line unless they are blocked in some way. By painting over the stencil you have a crisp line that will give you a clean result.
I am so excited, I picked up my vinyl mask and received my kit today; I'm already planning my next project. A question on my next project; will the multistrip remove adhesive used to mount a mirror? I recently was given a mirror from a remodel and it still has the adhesive in several spots, I'm guessing it was applied with a caulk gun. Thank you so much for the information in this video, your products, good customer service, and in advance for the answer to my question here. I am looking forward to doing more business with Angel Gilding in the very near future.
Thanks for your kind words! Multi-strip may help to remove the adhesive, although sometimes you need to gently slide a flat razor blade under the edge of the adhesive. It's a pesky problem, but patience with a razor blade is often the best way to go!
Would you be able to do this process to a large mirror in a grid form? I have a large mirror idea that has lights coming through it and would love to get a quote.
Hello, thank you for your question. We do not take on custom work but we would be happy to direct you to the products we carry that would enable you to do this if you would like to take on the project. Thanks!
Hello, does the mirror say where it was made? If it was made in Asia its possible its an aluminum mirror. If you scratch the backing paint slightly and see a copper/gold finish you know it's a silver mirror backed with copper.
@@AngelGildingcom so I applied this ez strip gel I got from the Home Depot that seemed to get the first layer off and it’s exposed what looks like a copper/gold finish.
@@PEAKLiving- If the mirror layer that is exposed looks copper/gold that is almost certainly a silver mirror backed with copper. Our Mirror Remover will remove both layers and comes in the Fine Line Silver Removal Kit. Thanks!
Hi, you mean for the mask? We find vinyl works best so that you get a crisp line. However, if paper can stay in place and is sturdy maybe it work, we aren't sure.
We do not recommend that you apply the silver remover directly over the vinyl because it could seep under the vinyl, however it will not "eat away" at the vinyl.
Hello, in this kit we use our Gray Roll coat for the mirror backing paint. The mirror is commercially made-we did not apply the silver to this mirror. Thanks!

Hi, sorry to hear that. Did you follow the steps with the Multi-Strip and the mask and paint? It is possible that the piece was not rinsed off well enough or the multi-strip sat on the surface for too long.
