He's not really underrated though. He's actually quite bad at first (Chongyun better at DPS, Qiqi better support).
The gamechanger was introduction of Patch 1.2 Cryo artifact that pushed Kaeya top tier Cryo character (and also addition of multiple Cryo characters like Diona, Rosalia,Eula to work/resonate with him). He is now really good in both DPS and sub DPS.
They need to buff him so people can actually be meta about him. He's already amazing but people don't even consider him

He didn't talk about the best Kaeya's ability! The teleportation between the 4th and 5th normal attack. It saved me so many times! Love this sneeky husbando

@@FloatingDonut Yep and since he can teleport behind small ennemies, there a high chance you won't be hit at all when he reappeared. Also he doesn't need to hit the ennemy to teleport behind it.

Yeah I love Kaeya. My first 80/90 ascended character, first friendship level 10 I got. He's just so flexible. I also like him as a support for Childe.

For me Kaeya has been the benchmark for what makes a good character in Genshin. If a character can be better than Kaeya at least 50% of the time, then they're good. Otherwise they're just weighing the team down.

@@mortem4573 Unsurprisingly Bennett, Venti, Xingqiu, and Zhongli are at the top. The characters below Kaeya would be: Amber, Lisa, Noelle, and pre-buffed Zhongli. One could also argue that Chongyun would be below Kaeya, but I think he has his own niche as an excellent shield breaker and with his transferable cryo infusion.

@@planttrees1423 oh i got hacked when sumeru got released so i dont have the build anymore. but id reccomend 2 piece bloodstained with 2 piece pale flame. and the aqua favonia sword if u have one. if not then its okay. use what u have
the stats are the same as usual dps, atk sands, phys goblet, critrate/dam circlet. Remember to keep ur rate to damage ratio at around 1:2

@@planttrees1423 Ah no worries! I got it back around a few days after but they nuked all my artifacts, some weapons and other resources. they must’ve been quite malicious. I’ve recovered most of my progress but still working on getting good artifacts back.
And No problem! It’s waaayyy easier to get two different two piece sets than a 4piece of either. Plus the difference in damage comparatively is so minor, hence this 2p+2p is what I recommend for any physical build! Good luck farming! I hope you get good rolls 🙏

Kaeya carried me until I got Diluc, then Xiao, and then Zhongli. I still use Kaeya and was the first character I lvld to 90.
He's currently in the Starglitter shop for everyone who's interested in his constellations!

I've been a kaeya main since I started playing last year and I've been confused for the longest time whether I should build him cryo or physical, I'm glad you also think Blizzard is the best set on him (I'm using it too but many other streamers say 2p glad 2p chivalry is the better option so I was always unsure). Your talent prio was super interesting, I crowned his E first because I always thought it's the most important one since it is so so strong but I will definetly focus on his Q now. Now I just need more Kaeya cons. The boy is rarer than a 5* for real :D Thank you so much!

It was my first time doing the rank ascension quest coz I was crying that I can't even defeat the electro hypostasis even though my friend taught me how to. When I finally did it, Kaeya is the only character standing. On my second rank ascension, it's also him that is left. I didn't even built him well. I really love Kaeya, he's so dependable. So he never left my party

Although I dont use Kaeya anymore bec I already have his namecard.. he’s the most surprising 4* I tried because I didnt realize how good he is and not many people are talking about him. Built him physical dps with Aquila and he’s a beast. Cryo Kaeya also greatly helps in current abyss even the previous ones. Will definitely buy his constellation in the starglitter shop 😊
I want to point out that c2 barbara works really well if you don't have xingqiu for a freeze comp. Her skill has a high up time (at c2 and lvl 60/70) and will apply hydro just as well as the surrounding swords from xingqiu. This is what I do since my xingqiu is paired with my yanfei.
Currently appreciating the starters, even Amber, but especially Kaeya! Gonna build Lisa soon. Now I actually want to get dupes of the three hahaha

One thing not mentioned if I'm remembering correctly is that out of all the 4*s right now I believe Kaeya has one of the highest ratios for his auto attacks making him much more viable to run as your dps. Of course correct me if I'm wrong. One thing I don't personally like about Kaeya is that his auto attack animations feel kinda sluggish to me, but I suppose that's just because I'm so used to using fast polearm users at this point. If you're in need of constant cryo though, Kaeya is the man, and paired with Rosaria if you have her too electro fatui are an easy win.
He has the highest normal attack multiplier out of ALL sword users. He basically hits as hard as claymores.
the problem is that he attacks as slow as claymore users. I have my c2 kaeya fully built with Aquila and honestly his normal attacks aren't very good. he's meh as a main dps but most shines as a cryo support/battery for my eula

I started playing genshin about 2 months ago and now, at almost AR 50, I still main Kaeya and the Traveler. My friend that introduced me to Genshin told me not to use Kaeya that much because he's weak and I wanted to prove her wrong. Glad I did, he's such a good character, especially supported by Xingqiu.
(also I have C1 Kaeya and, as a f2p, I think that's pretty good since the standards are rare)
I really love Kaeya😍 Both because he's ✨handsome ✨ and because he's one of my only few dps characters since most of the characters I get from wishing are mainly supports😢🤦

Kaeya can be a 1 man team by himself he is so good. He can heal himself, you get a shield at C4, his basic attack multipliers are the highest for a sword user. I've spent hundreds on this game but Kaeya will remain as my main dps (I hope I get his consts soon)

I'm in the same situation as you (I have Aquila and black sword and have carry kaeya). I use Aquila because I can get enough crit without BS and the Atk is really nice even though you lose the substats. High refinement BS might be better, but you'd have to punch it into a calculator.
Aquila is better, the great passive and base attack makes it still a decent weapon on elemental builds. For keqing for example Aquila is still 3rd BiS and better than any 4 star weapon for electro.
i've seen a post that explains hybrid kaeya build on discord! so basically you can maintain your cryo artifacts set (blizzard strayer), however you can change the goblet from cryo damage bonus to physical damage one. for weapon substat, you can choose the one with phys damage bonus too (af or rancour). i'm not sure about damage comparison, but i think it's worth to try! especially with high crit rate bonus from blizzard strayer :D
@@croissant3274 Yes, that's quite true. The Blizzard Strayer along with Cryo Resonance already give enough Crit. I have a couple constellations too so I get the extra crit from his C1! At present, I don't have a high refinement BS as I want to have at least one copy of all Battle Pass weapons before I start refining. :)
@@chopinfanclub6672 Yes, Aquila is an amazing weapon in general. It's a 5* weapon, after all, and the 200% damage passive is op. 3rd BiS even for Electro Keqing? I didn't know that, though I don't have Keqing so I'm not overly familiar with her. Thanks for the tip! :D

Farming artifacts is hell for me, specially the cryo domain is so... awful, because I'm more of a casual player, my characters aren't that strong, the ice giant hilichurl is super annoying 😩 but... anything for my beloved Kaeya.

the only people calling him underrated are people who watch these types of videos specifically, and they don’t make up the majority of the genshin community. most people never level kaeya or bench him once they’re mid to late game thinking he is not viable at later stages. of course, everyone has their preferences so I don’t see a problem with that but most people overlook his good features just because he’s a starter character
@@b3470 I disagree, I think people don't invest in him because they don't have constellations. I would use Kaeya, but why when I have c6 Chongyun and c6 Rosaria? I have failed to find someone who legit thinks Keaya sucks in game, or in comment sections. Underrated would be Noelle, I have no trouble finding people who legit think she sucks.

You don’t need constellations for Kaeya. I don’t have constellations for him & still use him, while also having constellations for Rosaria and Chongyun. There are plenty of characters that are heavily used at C0 & Kaeya is one of those that is still good even before you get C1. That’s not why people don’t use him. It’s rumored he will be in the shop for June and I have my starglitter ready to get a Con. His constellations are worth getting if you can or if you like him.

Its pronounced "Kah-e-ya". In most languages, except Korean for some reason I don't know.
A few months ago I didn't cared much about him, but it turned out that he was an essential unit for me to get 36* as a F2P. Very valuable SubDPS unit, I definitely recommend investing in him. Nice guide as always.
In game if you change the Audio to Chinese, and check his voice lines its actually Kai-ya.

Kaeya main here 🙋 the video was super helpful, definitely have done a lot of the stuff you suggested! I have only a couple things to add for anyone looking to max out their DPS Kaeya (from an obsessed C6 Kaeya simp):
-if you want an all-around DPS, it's worth having 2 pieces blizzard strayer and 2 gladiator's. Look for a good balance between crit rate and crit dmg. Best artifacts I got from him where from Stormterror domain
-when farming for artifacts, use condensed resin if you have it. You get more artifacts with every round = higher chances of getting some with good stats
-elemental mastery and reactions are your best friends 😊
-save your masterless starglitter for constellations, Kaeya comes up around twice a year. If you're seeing Lisa or Amber up there, there's a 99% chance Kaeya will be up the following month.
