Having a well maintained beard seems to equate to them that they are more masculine then men who either can't or choose not to grow a beard. It is sad to say but these people managed to politicize beards.
As per the hair, hair loss seems to be a real fear for some men... I sport a shaved head since I was 12, now 38 and it sure doesn't matter to me. Can't wait to not have to shave and be naturally bald.

Humans don't innately have that kind of heirarchy; even wolves don't- the original observations were done on wolves under certain conditions in captivity and don't reflect how wolves naturally behave (the author himself has said so, too). The whole "alpha male" subculture involves a deep misreading of human interpersonal dynamics and replaces self-awareness with a valorization of toxic, manipluative traits and superficial, inauthentic relationships. It's often used by men who feel insecure and lack a sense of agency, to which I'm sympathetic, but they tend to make themselves into either a menace to the people around them, or just a sad joke. she was too trusting ...avoid...dont go near to talk .... he saw the vehicle driving through Lakewood. Following a hunch, Ferris said she decided to proactively go and stand guard near a tattoo parlor.
“There was a tattoo shop to the north of me that I thought he could be headed towards,” Ferris said. “Sure enough, he walked up to me.”
Ferris said she noticed the suspect due to his protective gear. However, at first glance, she was not sure if he was a threat or not as a suspect description had not been released.
“He was wearing a police vest and was loading magazines. So, I wasn’t sure if he was from another agency,” Ferris said.
      (credit: CBS)
Ferris said she approached the suspect and had a short conversation. She asked him where he was coming from, and he responded by saying the bank. At the time Ferris said she was unaware that there were shots fired at a nearby bank just moments before.
After asking if he was a security guard at a nearby company, Ferris said she knew something was off. Following a hunch, Ferris said she knew the man she was talking to was the suspect in the other area shootings. When she went to make contact with him that is when the gunman reached for his waistband.
“I told him, ‘Don’t do this.’ And, he said, ‘I’ll show you what I’ll do,'” Ferris recalled. “And then we were engaged in a gunfight.”
Ferris said she believes the gunman shot her first. She remembered being paralyzed in one leg as she fell backward. She had already retrieved her gun and started to return fire.
“I didn’t have to do much thinking, it was all very automatic,” Ferris said.
As she was lying on the ground Ferris said she was confident she accurately stopped the threat.
“He made the choice to fire his gun at me, and he sealed his fate that way,” Ferris said. “When I hit him, he fell, and I remember thinking, ‘Okay I got him, he’s down.’”
Ferris said she felt at peace, almost in another mindset, as she lay on the ground waiting for backup. She said she had lost her hearing temporarily following the gunfire. She recalled laying on the cement and peacefully thinking the lights in the shopping area were beautiful.
      (credit: CBS)
Moments later her fellow officers, who she refers to as friends, arrived on scene. One picked her up and loaded her into his squad car and rushed her to the hospital. She recalled being carried into the hospital on his back.
“Thinking about that right now I still get goosebumps. It was hard for me to believe I was the officer down,” Ferris said.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ferris and other officers involved in the incident were recognized by the City of Lakewood for their actions.
In the five months since the shooting Ferris has been doing rehab and visiting with a psychologist. She said, mentally, she is in a great place. She said she almost felt fortunate that she was the officer involved in the shooting as it has given her a greater outlook on life.
Physically, Ferris is nearing a full return to health. She has regained her ability to walk without the need for a walker or cane. She also no longer walks with a limp. However, she said she does have some irritation in her right leg throughout the day, comparing it to a sensation of having a sunburn.
Ferris said, once she regains her ability to run, she

I am too independent to be neither, I know my place. Alpha does have a need to be in charge and most importantly HELP beta attain their goal and giving them a place of importance and relevance in the pack. Sometimes certain beta may need corrections but that is far from being the norm.

It's a way for insecure guys to feel as though they're winning a nonexistent competition.

They based it off of a study about wolves where a researcher originally called the "leader" of the wolves the alpha wolf. The funny thing is that years later the researcher who populatized the term admitted he was wrong after further observations and that there is not actually an alpha-wolf structure, same for hominids. So it's pretty much based on a fantasy at this point.

@@bonnielee316 Resentment is a sort of anger held onto, and it is the anger that they get addicted to. Anger always feels itself to be in the right, whether it is or not and it mostly is not. Anger also feels its actions to be justified. In this sense, anger is a delusory condition that deceives the survival drive which requires being right. Anger's sense of being in the right also deceives the conscience. So the person is deceived into feeling right at the base and at the pinnacle and subsequently throughout their being. That is why anger is so difficult to overcome. When the person with a chronic (grudge like) or acute (episodic) anger problem is able to look back and see the mistakes he made at anger's prompting and also recall that he felt right and justified at the time, then usually with sound counselling he comes to realise the delusory or deceptive nature of anger. Men value truth and being right in a true sense, so after a man realises that anger's strong sense of being in the right is a delusory condition he then distrusts anger, which quenches it. Anger becomes an unwelcome intruder which the man casts out of his being, in favour of being right in a calmer and truer way. Of course, there are also several other understandings required to defeat anger, but understanding its delusory nature is one of the most important. And is an understanding that I have found men appreciate the most.

Something SO different and unique on RUclips or elsewhere, even in the Genres of True Crime or Mental Health. I just appreciate it so much, and ALWAYS learn something from a Dr. Grande video! 💖 It's very sad this guy wasn't stopped before he did the kind of damage he did- however, I think it's very hard to stop people BEFORE they do these types of things sometimes, bc of freedom of speech- and even making threats don't carry a very heavy legal consequence usually. I feel for all the victims and destruction of lives, it's always unthinkable to me what makes any human feel they have the right to take lives and ruin many more by doing so. yeah, it really was something when I learned how common brain damage is in killers.

@Oden Black Cat Not necessarily. You’d be wrong to place that bet. Way to just try and provide a complete cop out. Brain injury doesn’t equate to murderous hate and intent. This is why these people get away with being held accountable when there’s people like you, thinking your head trauma experts, sitting there claiming “bRaiN inJuRy” when he was filling himself with hateful ideology. That’s not erratic behavior. There’s no difference in what he did and how he behaved and school shooters who know exactly what they’re doing. I’ve had friends who played sports throughout high schools and had multiple concussions and they definitely never displayed this type of behavior, so you can’t blame it all on that. That’s for sure lol.

As I have always said, distance yourself from those have photos of themselves posing with guns on their fridge door!
This is where photos of pets, friends and inspiration should be.

This is why I'm always armed because you can't just chill and exist without a weaker human being lashing out at the world. Good job on that police officer's part.

What more is there to say about a guy who got beat up by Blm, dressed up like the joker online while being racist and then Finally being locked up for a gun I believe. What more is there to look into?

I have a lot I'd like to say against this guy, but I think that energy would be better directed at praising the officer that ended his rampage. What an absolute badass. I hope she has a speedy recovery and gets every reward that can be given to her. This lady is what a hero looks like.

Dr. Grande, can you consider doing a video on Theresa Knorr? It's a very messed up story of a mother who tortured & abused her children, murdered 2 of them, & used the others to cover it up. I saw it covered on Forensic Files once I think but there's no real solid analysis here on RUclips and I'd love to see yours. Curious what's going on in the deranged mind of the mother to commit such horrifying acts on her own family.
Love your videos, as always! Such a unique blend of content. Even when I don't agree with every point, I find your analysis informative and eye opening. Thanks for all you do!

I get major (heavy on the major) War Machine vibes from this guy. I wonder what Dr. Freud would say about his views on women🤔
Could you possibly do a video on the murder of Nicholas Markowitz? It’s so sad and senseless. A LOT to unpack in that story.

Hello Dr. Grande, as I listen to this story I find that Lyndon had mental problems from the start, his revenge seems like he killed people that were good at was what he was terrible at getting along with others, so sad. I feel the police missed clues that could have stopped him, but without accusing the police, he could have at least been sent to get mentally evaluated. You always bring interesting cases for us to follow, it is no wonder that you have over 1 million subscribers. Please keep up the fantastic work you do to bring us these extodenary videos. Best Regards. ❤👍
