- A quick review of the Leatherman Signal multi-tool!
I'd give it a 5/5, the blades are not super bush craft friendly for some tasks due to the smaller size, but it has its place as a great set of tools and as a backup for some standard bush craft tasks. I think the saw would be most useful when carving. Its the perfect size for creating stop cuts.

great job! all the other "reviewers" seem to think this is a camping tool and fault the extras as gimmicky. it's a regular multitool with some survival features. i always carry a large ferro rod, a legit whistle, and a small sharpening stone for field touch ups, but the signal provides backups in case of an emergency with less heft than the standard leatherman multitools.
I agree and it looks cool too!
Yay!!! Someone who gets it!!
I carry all the same items brother. The ferro rod is the most important feature of this tool to me. I hope I never have to use it, but if I do, it will be invaluable.
Like the review you properly tested and shown the tool can work as a emergency solution
Nice practical review of the tool. I've ordered one for hiking, camping and mountain biking. Should be a good addition. One thing with the saw; You really have to make sure you hold the wood steady because as soon as it moves, the blade will bind. Might be best to stand over it with your foot on it and free hand on the other end so the wood is held in two places. I saw a video where they sawed through a log about 75-100mm (3-4") in diameter. But yeah, it'll never compete with a proper saw. Maybe useful to make a splint or a stake?
yeah its really good for small cuts in making notches etc

Very nice and full watch.
Sweet and satisfying fire start up👍
nice video, watchin in 2024
Ty! glad you liked it
Serrations actually make excellent curls. It’s all about finding the edge angle and being very ginger. You’ll make the thinnest curls you’ve ever made. I miss my Signal. Planning to add a new one to my collection soon
Good Info, will definitely give that a try!
@@ShinyStickEC check out Magnus Andersson. He uses serrations to excellent effect in the woods. I also have a video or two showing my combo edge blades and full serrated multitool blades working well in the bush
Hmmm the Red tan really looks nice! I wanted to go for the Coyote color but this also looks interesting!
yeah I didnt get a choice as it was a gift, but coyote vs red I like the red more visible when I set it down :)
Nice video review . Thank you Sir . Very informative . 🇺🇸🙏
your welcome! if you have any questions feel free to ask!
Excelent work!!!
Thank you very much!
Nice review
Thank you glad you liked it!
Hey, great review! Is it possible to use the whistle while the tool is closed and the whistle is attached to it?
Thanks! Unfortunately no the mouthpiece is in the center of the handle :(
@@ShinyStickEC Thank you so much for your quick reply! :)
@@onthefly4711 we aim to please :)
Nice video, I like the music in the background. :)
Thank you!
Very nice that’s how u should review test
Thank you!
Heck yea!
The blade lenght and shape its what stopped me from buying this, I need a tool that I could use for some weekend camping in the woods, nothing hard but I still can't trust the blade on this.
I agree, its a secondary knife for me :) If you're looking for a good primary I'd highly recommend a morakniv bushcraft, workhorse and it won't kill your wallet
@@ShinyStickEC Already got one, excellent knives but I was looking for a multitool that could completely take the place of my knife, I know it sounds stupid but after a couple of nights in the woods, I realized that I really didn't need all the rambo gear I had, I was thinking of getting the signal and a small axe like the one from the friendly swede but the blade seems too flimsy to me, a shame really since they could have gone with the wave blade design. I ended up getting a victorinox trailmaster and couldn't be happier.
Can the blade be replaced??
@@jaythemachine3845 I heard it can but never done it myself.
I would never baton a multitool or a folding knife. At least leave the blade unlocked if doing so.
I admire the Signal a lot, but already own a good modified Wave so i won't buy.
agree on that one, batoning with a folding tool is no good
