She's one of a rare breed of singers that actually sings (no auto tune) and has made many top notch songs. Then she did the Sidney Olympics. That was a fabulous show. Dear OkamiNoka, there are MANY electronic and computer sound filtering (frequency, phase, pan, dynamic, echo, etc.) used in modern audio equipments, applied on the LIVE sound. (Even auto-tune can be used almost real time, with obvious audible effect. Fortunately Kylie don't need it.) In a serious rehearsal you had to use the same tricks as in the concert! If everything is already in place (during Aphrodite Tour), or you just play for the camera, maybe not. That is the difference you may hear!

Real behind the scenes rehaersals was in Kylie's soundcheck vids from les folies tour. It should be prodecer's work free. And i hear here her voice (hear here her ;))) isn't her real live voice -> she loses her breath quicker, it's less shiny, without this echo effect, it's just weaker (sadly to say but it's a fact). it's not 1:1 from rehearsals.

I have records, when Kylie seemed a little bit out of tune, but a careful spectrum analysis showed that she was actually right! (The others should have followed her.) So, I think it is very important for the band and for the backing singers to TRUST the lead singer - especially in the case of Kylie. Blossom Dearie: yes. Dancing+singing. Nor Kylie is 20 anymore. She has to gradually damp dancing in favour of singing.
Kylie has special voice, that can be (or not) preferred over Madonna's, Britney's, etc. But the actual voice is just part of the story! Much more important is, how expressive (emphatic) is the singing. (This emphasizes the role of the personal character.) Personally, I think there are THOUSANDS of songs out there that could turn into blossom with Kylies singing :-). And NOT because of a "major stage production". And you don't have to put them on singles, I prefer bunches in live concerts!!!

Kylie has special voice, that can be (or not) preferred over Madonna's, Britney's, etc. But the actual voice is just part of the story! Much more important is, how expressive (emphatic) is the singing. (This emphasizes the role of the personal character.)
Personally, I think there are THOUSANDS of songs out there that could turn into blossom with Kylies singing :-). And NOT because of a "major stage production". And you don't have to put them on singles, I prefer bunches in live concerts!!!

@Kylie2011DcsabaS- I don't consider "european Britney" as an insult.They're both pretty the same media stars in hands of a bunch of their producers, stylists etc.They dont write their songs,dont create their records & tours.They are starring in other's ppl works.They are faces to sell us pop.Difference is just in the name of brand.Like pepsi & cola ;). + @Kylie2011DcsabaS - ok, i understand the sound should come be from her mic, so it was put through the mixer. i dont want the sound from this handy cam. but do me a favour and find here on youtube vid "The DL - Amy Winehouse 'Valerie' Live". that was taken backstage. listen to the sound and compare it with this anti tour rehersals. could you tell the difference? (not in comparing K. to Amy ;)), difference which makes me calling this vid not being live.
i haven't heard about that. but as far as i know, Kylie has the same writers/producers as Britney, Toxic was written by ppl who wrote CGYOOMH, it supposed to be use on body language, it fits this record a lot and it's very Kylie's - as if it was written for her to use. I can imagine her singing "too high, can't come down, losing my head spinning 'round and 'round, do you feel me now" :). if it's true what u said bout twitter - maybe Kylie doesn't know that and she should ask her manager? ;)
I know what the Anti Tour is about and i think.. it's very about the REAL hits ;). ok, not popular hits, but dont you think that some of these songs are more hits than the popular hits? among us Kylie fans BPM, magnetic, stars, cherry and dozen of unreleased tracks. all of them should be singles! (like lovin u). Anyway, singing live or not - they're all (KM, BS, M.) big because of major stage productions. Don't tell me you prefer Kylie more because of her voice ;).
Dear Kylie2011DcsabaS, when I see "Rehearsals" in title i expect to watch a real behind the scenes material, i even think it should be amateur a little, in opposite to music video look. That's why I'm disappointed with this clip. And the sound should be 1:1 as it was during recording, but here we get audio after producer actually polished it. And now it looks like prerecorded material. It's too clean. Kylie sings this good.. on her records ;). btw - i like your lalcs works :)
but there were no live instruments. usually there are no live instruments on tv shows where she performs or even big events where she's one of the stars. and problem with backing singers? c'mon, her backing singers are way better than Kylie, these girls sing half of each song instead of Kylie and they save the whole show. without them.. it would be painful to hear..
live with obvious post-production? i don't get it, since when live recordings have a havy post-production? post-prodution is this thing which determinates what is studio recording. after all every studio recording was singing live once it was recorded ;). but live and studio are two different type of record. btw discussion isn't trolling.

no live instruments - i wasnt talking about anti tour, i was talking about her performances in tv shows, like all i see from dwts (you said it wasnt her fault she sounded horrible there, but her band. there was no band).
