5:10 and 6:30 - you have bugs in this circuit! :-) Could you add a 90 degree phase shifter at the oscillator buffer output, another mixer fed from the antenna, a polyphase network to phase-shift the resulting audio by 90 degrees, an audio summer to produce USB only? i made reciever very similar to PIXIE but i used super vxo so i could tune it in mater of tens of kilohertz both ways and with frequency of 3.6MHz it was amazing bandwidth was really wide when i inspected it with PC soundcard 48KHz
If you want some selectivity, using a few more 3.579545 crystals in a ladder filter should do nicely. This idea is, of course lifted from the"Warbler" PSK transceiver (by K1SWL, I think). Vy 73 de Jan, OZ9QV.
Interesting variety of diode ring mixer, most circuits I find for diode mixer use multiple tapped transformers but this one is simplified, do you know the name of this type ? Does it perform as well ?

That would do nicely, if you want to use it as a TX, too.
A good idea. Depends on where the centre frequency is. If it's unsuitable you might be able to do something with ceramic resonators.

Henry - I do not know the name of the mixer or whether it performs as well. It may only be single balanced rather than double balanced.
I think need HF amplifier.
