I found melee in this game extremely satisfying.
I love that they included kicks, knee strikes and headbutts, bearing in mind that most companies limit their characters to fistfighting
I really wish Naughty Dog would just create a brawler type game with these kind of animations I mean they look so great

But what can we do? Closest I see to an actual fist fight is to equip your pistol and fight an enemy with a pistol as well.
I remember having a long drawn out fight with one of those gas mask enemies. we were just countering each other with completely different animations each time. it was sick.

Yea, pretty much, I mostly do combat too. But if it’s on Crushing difficulty, then I stay in cover and watch my surroundings.

Sure, but the problem is I’ve never seen a RUclipsr actually use melee unless the merc grabbed them and they had to.
What I really like for what they done to Nathan drake’s hand to hand combat is that they made him use his surroundings as advantages, like when near a cliff or pit, he’ll usually punch or kick them out of the platform, or when he pushes them to the wall so they’re stunned and struggle to escape and Nate just bashed their head to the wall, OR when he uses THEIR gun as an opportunity to knock them down while having the ammo ready. Really love those touches
Bonus: Your partner actually helps you out when you go for the same enemy
You and your partner can rescue each other while being struggled by someone
It makes me so happy knowing that the mercenaries here are south african. I know there are other south african mercenaries in other games. But we never had a big presence in video games.
Yeah, I really liked their conversations.
Couple of them even mention Angola and South Sudan.
Naughty Dog really out did themselves with the melee in this game. It really makes you not want to use guns at all, and I love it.

NO ONE ever realizes that if you shoot an enemy a couple times, THEN attack him. Nate will perform a certain finisher on them that you never get to do just by hitting them in general. Why does no one do this

The counter kicks are the best one's.
I think this is smoother than the last of us 2, it's just my opinion guys
I guess that makes sense since Nathan is a more advanced and capable fighter, and his physical stats are superhuman, so he’s able to knock out mercs with more ease. I still really enjoy the grittiness and brutality of the TLOU series.

Uncharted combat is a lot better but last of us 2 combat feels better better impacts sounds and camera angles thought Uncharted 3 and 2 had some real good ones

Hunters are such interesting enemies in Uncharted 4, especially in melee combat. Too bad they only show up in crushing difficulty
They show up often in Survival Mode. Though you’ll quickly grow to despise those fuckers after a while.

Definitely not average my man. It was confirmed that Nate is 6'2 since Nolan North mocapped him in the 4th game. Definitely 200 or more lbs. And yes, he definitely hits like a train lol.

Too bad you cannot defeat Hunters 8:43 in melee (unless you hit them by surprise or perform a finisher on them after shooting them). They just counter all of your attacks. I wish they would at least allow you to defeat them in melee eventually, even if it takes more time, like you could with the brutes on Uncharted 3
Actually, there is a way. As long as they’re near a wall, you can keep fighting and countering them until you knock them out. It is kinda tricky. I guess it shows they are more trained than any other shoreline contractor. I get your point though. I do wish you could casually engage them instead.

@@supersbbrawl4ever I would say they look the same size, it’s just that the hunter’s sleeves go past his biceps, so he visually might look bigger, but I could be wrong.
They’re damn annoying in Survival Arena where there’s a wave that forces you to do headshots and melee only.

From what I’ve read, there are predictions of TLOU III, TLOU I remake, and a new Uncharted game (which will be led by Bend Studios)
TLOU3 story is getting written, but the game isn’t getting made yet.

@@cloudcity77 Yeah lol, and I honestly don’t hate Nadine in LL. It’s just that in U4, it seemed she was there simply to show that she’s some terminator-like being with no character. I just wish they would’ve kept the fights consistent like the rest of the games, where Nate is shown to clearly capable, especially in U4 with all of the Shoreline contractors, going high up as hunters, but yeah, it’s not that big of deal in the overall game because the story is still awesome
Don't forget that Nadine got her ass kicked by Asav, if it wasn't for Chloe she would be Dead ( to be honest I would really like to see a fight with Nadine against talbot )

Some blood is shown when your shoot enemies, but it’s not graphic since it’s T-rated. If Uncharted was M-rated, it would be bloody as hell given the crazy shit Nate does lol
