If I’m correct, this is the rarest move a Shoreline Mercenary can perform in the game ( grabbing Nate and trying to shoot him.) The second rarest animation in the game is where Nate pulls a Mercenary off a ledge but the Merc catches Nate’s leg on his way down. Despite this move being so rare though, on your first time playing certain encounters there are scripted instances where there is a 100% chance of the leg-catch move being played. For example, the Grenadier at 8:09 will always catch your leg upon your first time playing this encounter.

Those enemies are called Hunters, an unique type of enemy that rushes towards you and tries to choke you to death. However they only appear in the highest difficulty of the game (crushing difficulty).

What difficulty was this played on? I can never seem to get fights that look like this.
Most of the clips were played on normal difficulty. Some of them were played on crushing difficulty, so I could fight certain enemies that only appear in crushing difficulty.
…I had no idea or must have completely forgotten that there are melee animations for when you’re carrying a propane tank.
Does it work on the heavy machine gunners and hunters?

They should’ve made it on crushing difficult when your meleeing enemies you get armor cause you can’t do it cuss if your out of cover for any time you die
NO ONE ever realizes that if you shoot an enemy a couple times, THEN attack him. Nate will perform a certain finisher on them that you never get to do just by hitting them in general. Why does no one do this!?

Bro, how did you make such different animations? Almost all of my animations are the same. Maybe it depends on the difficulty level? Answer please❤
The animations you trigger depends on what weapon you are holding while fighting (Sidearms and long weapons have different animations from each other). Also animations like counter attacks and buddy takedowns depends on if you're holding either a sidearm or a long weapon. Animations of counter attacks trigger more specifically, as the animations you trigger depends what weapon you are holding versus what weapon the enemy is holding.
As for the difficulty, You can trigger almost all the melee animations in any difficulty. The only melee animations you won't get to see in any difficulty are the attacks animations from the hunter enemy, because hunters only show up in crushing difficulty. I also think that you're more likely to trigger counter attacks when playing on higher difficulties, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I noticed that counters and takedowns are more varied on the crushing difficulty.

Shit this must be the longest melee comp there is, but I really think you should of used guns in certain parts a bit more because it does look pretty goofy seeing Nathan beat the living crap out of multiple mercenaries bullets blazing without firing a bullet like some generic anime character.
Despite the video focusing on the melee combat of the game, I have to admit that it indeed looks goofy how Nate beats the crap out of armed mercs for 23 minutes straight.
I'm planning to upload a video where I beat every encounter part in crushing difficulty, with a variety of shooting and melee combat

Really, Nate canonically receives what is on the screen, it is the luck mechanic, every time he seems to suffer damage, his luck runs out, and the saga revolves around Drake's luck, not like another Video games where the main character should not canonically receive any shots but he does receive them in the gameplay.
