Great selection! Diving into blend mode mathematics is one of the best things one should do! For example, multiply leaves white as is because white has a value of 1. If you multiply anything with 1, you get its original value. Fantastic demonstration with the gradient!
I LOVE THIS!!! 😃I've been wondering about blend modes for a while so this is super helpful. Thanks Dylan!!!! 💜 Do you have more videos about blend mode I can binge? 😊
Thanks for explaining some of the blend modes! I like how you explained what they do, how they do it and showed an example with the grayscale image. It sinks in better with the visual. How blend modes work has been a mystery to me for a long time. Could you do a detailed video on all of the blend modes? Thanks!
Kinda new to Final Cut Pro and wondering if certain features just stop working ? I find myself restarting my M2 Ultra Mac Pro just to get things to work again, is this common ? Because it seems to happen all the time, should i just learn a different editing software instead?
Gotta save this one. I always forget blend modes and I end up with a much more time consuming and complicated solution. I expect that this will save me a lot of time in the future. Thank you.
Thanks Dylan. I must play around with these blend modes so that I know more or less what to do in order to get the effect I need. This short video was a great reminder. Thanks.
The behind mode always does my head in that you have to put it above the other layers. I know FC well enough to understand why, but it’s still counter-intuitive visually on the timeline.

Wow! Im amazed by the possibilities!! Thanks!

I'm one of those RUclips lurkers that doesn't comment (basically ever) but I just had to leave you some love. Appreciate these videos!
i really appreciate so much from your tutorial, i literally learn so much from here. Thank you sooo much!
Very cool, especially the behind. The only one I can remember is screen. Otherwise I just try them one by one :-)
Very helpful. Thanks. Just recently I was working with layers.
Amazing video Dylan, learned so much!
Edit: Can you give us a rough estimate on when the Motion course is coming out?
Something many editors don’t explore. This is great break down, as always thanks for the great content!

So much to learn! Cheers for the breakdown in a digestible manner with some simple examples to ignite some thoughts on use.

Nice! Never understood the function of the behind blend mode, until now. Thanks!

Thank you! Any advice on working with the windows of homes in real estate videos?
So helpful tutorial, thank you 😊
Brilliant! Thanks
screen is the goat
Thanks.
Now if I can just remember these….
Go and use them several times, make this tutorial workshop for you, I think it is the best way to remember))
Will do the same
Is there a way to keyframe the strength of blend mode (in this instance, something like the stencil or silhouette)?
If you use stencil alpha, or silhouette alpha, you can keyframe the opacity!
@@TheFinalCutBro epic! Wish I had known about that blend mode earlier 😅 would have come in handy for a logo animation I did a few weeks back!
Another fabulous and useful tutorial. Very many thanks Dylan.
