Macy’s (online) has some pretty nice, much more affordable versions of Ralph Lauren clothes, it’s a sort-of collaboration “Ralph Lauren for Macy’s”. The fabrics aren’t always as good as regular RL, they can include synthetics, but if that’s ok for you, it might be worth a look. I can’t wear synthetics next to my skin, but there are also some nice natural-fiber clothes and (synthetic, but that’s ok for me) outerwear pieces. I got some nice jackets, etc. from this line. Budget is a concern for almost everyone, there’s no way I could afford the more expensive RL lines, like RL “Collection” I think it’s called, but sometimes I can afford a “Polo” or “Lauren” line piece direct from RL, too. The style is "classic tailored". It's for a certain body type. My husband told me it was my style and now i love how it flatters my body type. Certainly not for everyone.
I agree. Ralph Lauren knows how to dress a woman’s body better than any designer, but this isn’t it. Some of us women over 50 fight gravity, etc. that give us manly jowls as we age. Adding collard shirts, trousers and blazers only adds to the masculine look.
