I just watched this again after seeing it decades ago. I laughed out loud and dribbled coffee down my shirt. I am quite old though, so I do that anyway.
"wh-wha-what am i doin? im sittin here eatin my dinna, and you dumb questions!" lol i love hugh laurie:) nails each charater. stephan and hugh are AWSOME here!!
The skit first starts out like a scene from Raging Bull where DiNiro asks Peschi if Peschi was F'ing his wife and ends like a commercial for tomato sauce. Fry and Laurie make a great team! I like those NY accents that they did.
Everytime I see Hugh Laurie in different role than House I´m completely baffled. He´s such a great and versatile actor, I wish I had discovered both of them much much earlier!
People that were born the same day as your comment are now 14 years old. Damn. I consider house a 'recent show'. I mentioned to my niece "Hey It's the guy from house" and she had to google it and said, why would I know about an ancient TV show. They had phones int heir pockets! Scrubs still had beepers
Actually seeing Hugh Laurie is a serious role as House baffled me, having him known as a comedic actor for years, whith roles of complete sillyness like Prince George.
@@kamion53 What baffled me was that Hugh even did work for such a stupid American production like 'House', givin his otherwise impressive resume. What a blemmish..
Yes! I watched this a year or so ago and then today I'm watching Raging Bull and suddenly realised it was this scene. Then I came to see if anyone else had realised - I guess you had.
Yes, their Italian-American accent is fantastic. I heard it only in the films from the Godfather or Prizzi's Honor and Stephen's and Hugh's accent resembles very much to the accents of the characters from these films.
Absolutely brilliant. :-))) Also, Laurie's short clip on the end is perfect. It makes you to believe, he is diffident, nerdy and slightly stupid... Or his face at 1:44 when he says "we have the same sister..." - just brilliant.
Hilarious as always, and its interesting how Hugh Laurie's American has improved over the years. Personally, I think Stephen sounds more convincing here. They both sound a little forced, but well observed as always.
Wow Stephen is actually really convincing in that character... until 1:12 with the pepper grinder- i don't know, for some reason that little shake with the pout is just so Stephen
"But Irish is such a beautiful language :-) It just has weird rules and stuff." and that's what makes it unique and interesting... and it's the language of the people who invented celtic music and ... whiskey! so I MUST learn it lol
This is a spoof of the movie Raging Bull by Martin Scorcese. There's a scene between DeNiro and Pesce where DeNiro accuses Pesce of sleeping with his wife (as usual).
Stephen Fry manages to still look English with his hand gestures...
Oliver Gratton mr fry has English tattooed on every single part of his body in 50 different languages.
He still sounded english too xD
That he has a wife is harder to believe
ie, gay
@@davidharrison6615 all of which are also English
I love hearing Stephen Fry do different accents. It's so weird because he just has an archetypically English voice!
FRY'S AMERICAN ACCENT IS ADORABLE

You have commented this before on an other Bit of Fry and Laurie video.
But I agree it’s very funny 😆
There's nothing like a mafioso sketch from Fry and Laurie to make you laugh.
"They both enjoy ragazzo sauce" Classy gag...
i love the reaction shot of hugh when stephen sais ''are you sleepin with my sister?'', the look of disbelief on his face is classic!!
"Spaghetti bullshit!" ...... "bolognese." :-D
Hugh just hits my heart with every character he plays. Heck, even with this guy right here. =D
A good point they're making. I'll ask my father if he's sleeping with my mother
Disgusting question. What kind of bullshit is that? He outta slap you in the face.
@@UnfitToLive spaghetti bullshit
-Are you sleeping with my mothe..
-THAT'S IT
xDDDDDD
priceless xD
very funny, two brilliant actors!
greetings from italy
"Are you sleeping with my brother ?". HILARIOUS !
Hugh makes a very sexy Italian guy XD!
"wh-wha-what am i doin? im sittin here eatin my dinna, and you dumb questions!" lol i love hugh laurie:) nails each charater. stephan and hugh are AWSOME here!!
A wonderful parody of De Niro/Pesci conversation in "Ragin Bull"
Its so amazing how hugh always gets the perfect role and it suits him everytime so damn rightly
I genuinely would watch a whole movie of this
They're really good at mimicking and doing accents.
I love them so much.
the other day we went to the cinema... Mad... :D
Are you sleeping with the projectionist?
That sentence makes complete sense on lockdown now...
Good sketch. Laurie's little skit at the end is what made me guffaw, though.
tomsega it’s called a vox pop
True Italian family 😂
"Ragazzo" means "boy" in Italian XD
Thanks so much for sharing this - I've lost count of how many times I've watched this, and it still gets me every time! LOVE Fry and Laurie. ^ ^

This is genius, but frightening! Thank Dog for sexy-geeky Oxbridge Stephen!
Love Hugh's hair and his accent! Its gorgeous! :)
His body language is perfecr too! They're so amazing!
'Don't ask me that dumb question!'
Great comedians! Greetings from Italy! =)

Stephen loses his Italian accent towards the end of the video (when he says "What bullshit? I ask a question, is all!") XD
I laughed so hard at the bolognese part LMAO
This is based on a bit from Raging Bull right?
Sounds like it..

Steven fry sounds a bit like peter griffin
Tom Fuller omg I can’t unhear it
😂😂 cant gainsay that observation tho
I can't get enough of those short sketches, they are hilarious!
FluorescentRose, you should hear the russian rolled R, that's something!
One of those brilliant videos that only come maybe once a week or so. Really funny :)
"the other day we went to the cinema...mad" hahaha! Reminds me of the skit he did about smoking pot once that led to him being homeless :)
Next question: "Are you sleeping with me?".
"I can't believe you did that. Behind my back!"
This is probably my favorite sketch. :D
What can be said? The ladies love Hugh Laurie's arms.
Absolutely brilliant. :-))) Also, Laurie's short clip on the end is perfect. It makes you to believe, he is diffident, nerdy and slightly stupid... Or his face at 1:44 when he says "we have the same sister..." - just brilliant.
One of my favourites
Hugh's delivery on his very first line sends me 😂 the way he says it so aggresively
They're both doin great with this American accent!👏👏
I'm sorry, but let's be honest--the extra little sketch at the end was the best thing ever. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I love Fry's choppy accent 😂
I LOVE THEM

My favourite sketch from Fry & Laurie.
oh my goodness, that was awesome
Very good!
Now I am craving spaghetti!!!
Hugh Laurie looks and sounds like Jerma in this sketch.
Epic accents, man!
Genius!

When they said “ Bolognaise” they blew it ! No Italian would know what Bolognaise is. British invention for Pasta Ragu !
"spaGHETTI BULLSHIT."
"...it's bolognese!"
GENIUS
I mean the question is "dumb" :-)))
Love the both
The Godfathers favorite spaghetti sauce commercial.
friggin' hilarious!
i ant eat spaghetti or bolognese without thinking of this. i normally end up choking
Well they've done it, spaghetti tonight!

LOL, a classic comedy duo making a parody of a classic film.

amazing!! why don't they play reruns of this in the states?!!? or maybe they do on channels i don't have. I LOVE what comes out of England! :D
" are you sleeping with my mother?" LOL.. love these two!
@moscy11 ... they're meant to be Italian-Americans, it's a sketch set in New York... good job on "getting it".
i'd love to try the

Just watched Raging Bull and finally got the reference, lol.
"sister" i saw that coming!
hugh should be of this era and background it looks good on him lool
lmaooooo xDD i loveeee themmm
That was fun! But I would love to see the last part where Hugh shows up with glasses, looking weird
You just did see it. That’s it.
does anyone know the clip that envolves hugh playing the guy with glasses at the end and talking about smoking pot?
Actually that's the whole thing. They used to do mini-sketches between the longer ones. The characters in them recurred in other mini-sketches though.
i loveeeee hugh
vid is ended and i still laughing lol
And ma is in the background cookin.
I'm eatin' mah dinna! I'm eatin mah dinna!
man, i wish I could imitate accents as well as him.
These guys are pretty funny.
WOW I knew that Stephen can change his accent too, TODAY!
pretty sure they do those accents better than I could, and I already start out with an American accent and tons of eps of The Sopranos watched...darn.
I thought he looked a bit like Hank Green.
If you notice, Stephen Fry started slipping back to British for a bit at the end. XD This is awesome, though.
