Burn the witch looked visually great but the story actually shown was a thousand miles wide and an inch deep. I'm sure the source material has some great lore and depth, but the actual movie/OVA was barely even a cock tease.
The con artist anime he recommended sounded more like it since cold calculating murder wasn't their MO, though it was raised as a possibility a couple of times.
Hmm~~ Ikebukuro West Gate Park, a gangster story too. I highly recommend it, the MC is smart and mature, the characters are enjoyable too. If you enjoy Durarara! I recommend this series, based on a real novel

@JustAnotherGoose It's because it's so stupid that I love it. I can't help but get hype and laugh when people threateningly take out microphones like it's a gun, or how every rap battle ends with a high level destructive spell blowing people up. Even the stupid characters are so beyond parody that I end up loving it.
Funniest part is how Moriarty got you interested with an anime only introduction 🤭 from someone who's been following the manga for long, you might wanna keep watching 🤗
"I love stories like this: of unwitting individuals caught up in political machinery and chains of causality far too immense and chaotic to comprehend or control, cascading out from seemingly insignificant coincidences toward destinies greater and darker than they could have ever imagined." yo that is some sexy word play right there. Im salivating!
Honestly the last episode made me a lot more interested in the series, I like that the show isn’t just her going to different places solving their problems. Her being just a watching traveler makes the show more interesting to me at least
For me it's realistic journey, not every place is happy. There's dark, wholesome, romantic and emotional story, tbh, the recent episode make me hooked more to the series
Thank you for mentioning Magatsu Wahrhiet, Moriarty the Patriot, and Akudama Drive because these are hands down my favorites of this season. Heck, I'm willing to say Moriarty might be my favorite of the whole year.
If you have trouble pronounciating _Magatsu Warheit Zuerst_, then I have a littel guide for you: Wahrheit - You can split it up into Vah (or Wa like in Watashi [google translate might help]) and hide but with a hard T: Vah-hide Zuerst - Just say Tsu, then air (but don't put too much emphasis on the r) and then put a st like in stick at the end: Tsu-air-st The Whole thing should sound like _Vah-hide Tsu-air-st_ (or you could just call it Truth First since that's what it is when translated to English).
Talentless Nana tries to be like Death Note and Promised Neverland and even succeeds to some extent in the beginning, but eventually deus ex machinas ruin it
I literally didn't care about anything this season beyond the sure things of Fire Force and Higurashi until I watched this. Your recommendations haven't ever steered me wrong and have settled me on some that I was on the fence about. I'll probably be picking up Akudama, Moriarty, and Sleepy Princess now due to you.
Moriarty really surprised me at how good the first episode was. It makes me sad though coz it definitely looks like production IG put more effort into this than Noblesse 😔

As stellar as it was in almost every way, I still can't forgive it for the dumbest plot development known to man in the final episode. I can't think of any other show that had my opinion turn on it so hard and so quickly.
I'm so glad to see you shine spotlight on the inadequacies of the animation industry. Instant donation to the kickstarter from me. Really hope to see it flourish.
Fun fact: Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken already had an animated adaptation way back when (91-92) and is based on a manga started in 89, so yeah, it absolutely is old school JRPG. And from what I can see here it follows the manga very closely.
ETA: to know the whole of the world of the show, and the general pitch of the show actually, the first two episodes are needed. You kinda can't just watch episode 1 and expect to know what this show is about. This video got me to try episode 1 of Talentless Nana blind and that was a good idea. I have more of an eye for Shoujo tropes than Shonen, and legit thought it was going to be a normal, if darker, worldbuilding wise, Shonen. Try it blind if you can!

The adachi and shinamura light novel struck a chord with me. It's one of those high school shows where the characters really do act like authentic hs students. I am a troubled teen myself and learning how to navigate my emotions and the world, and I relate to the main characters in ways I haven't seen depicted much before. Definitely recommend the series :)
Higurashi really was a blast with it's first episode and the trailer that released where the name "Gou" came up for the first time. It lead to fierce discussions if Gou can be watched without knowledge of the franchise, or if the first seasons should be watched first. Not to mention the discussion if it's a sequel, a remake or something else. It basically kicked off a civil war within the Higurashi community, and I absolutely love that. I'm just happy that Higurashi is back.

A. he can pretty much get into any university if he takes his final exams because he a knows everything and even more than what they teach in HS
B. when he was searching for the girl trough work he was working 0-24 and he didnt have time to spend that money so he is quite wealthy (the math doesnt really add up but i just let it slide)

@@Neoxon619 yeah that and food but (i just looked it up) rent prices are pretty tame unless you live in a city center or something. Using the Danganronpa music for Talentless Nana was a connection I wish I'd seen sooner
Yasss😂
Akudama Drive and Talentless Nana and Jujutsu Kaisen are my favorites so far in this fall and totally recommend them
Moriarty the Patriot sounds like murder-"Leverage" and I'm 1000% interested.
(in all seriousness though, the show sounds great and i'm looking forward to checking it out!)
I am happy someone else has watched Leverage
The con artist anime he recommended sounded more like it since cold calculating murder wasn't their MO, though it was raised as a possibility a couple of times.
Hmm~~ Ikebukuro West Gate Park, a gangster story too. I highly recommend it, the MC is smart and mature, the characters are enjoyable too. If you enjoy Durarara! I recommend this series, based on a real novel
I was already sold on Moriarty the patriot but if it's anything like leverage I'm all in.
This season is really strong, next season seems to be stronger though

The true anime of this season: Hypnosis Mic.

@@BrightBlueInk
Same. Something about the absurdity is magical, and no other anime in recent memory has come close to it.
In my opinion, the episodes have to be so bad they're good or something like that
@JustAnotherGoose
It's because it's so stupid that I love it.
I can't help but get hype and laugh when people threateningly take out microphones like it's a gun, or how every rap battle ends with a high level destructive spell blowing people up.
Even the stupid characters are so beyond parody that I end up loving it.
@JustAnotherGoose
Fair enough. Hypnosis Mic is unparalleled in its ridiculousness, I can almost call it normal to be put off by it.

"The journey of Elaine is a cozy, laid back delight..." Oh boy, I can see you didn't already watch episode 3.

What happened
Episode 3 was kinda bizarre because there were two parts and the run times were not equal.
that shit was too dark i love it
"I love stories like this: of unwitting individuals caught up in political machinery and chains of causality far too immense and chaotic to comprehend or control, cascading out from seemingly insignificant coincidences toward destinies greater and darker than they could have ever imagined."

The Journey of Elaina: "laid back, light hearted delight"
Oh god, if only knew how poorly that statement would age...
Best anime of the season tbh
Honestly the last episode made me a lot more interested in the series, I like that the show isn’t just her going to different places solving their problems. Her being just a watching traveler makes the show more interesting to me at least
Expectations: Flying Witch meets Kino's Journey
Reality: *nervous laugh*
For me it's realistic journey, not every place is happy. There's dark, wholesome, romantic and emotional story, tbh, the recent episode make me hooked more to the series
Sure we can say "well, what could I do anyway- nothing" BUT she is a powerful witch... so... she doesn't have that excuse.
Akudama Drive animation is simply stunning
Great show but I should of never got so attached to the characters
Thank you for mentioning Magatsu Wahrhiet, Moriarty the Patriot, and Akudama Drive because these are hands down my favorites of this season. Heck, I'm willing to say Moriarty might be my favorite of the whole year.
If you have trouble pronounciating _Magatsu Warheit Zuerst_, then I have a littel guide for you:
Wahrheit - You can split it up into Vah (or Wa like in Watashi [google translate might help]) and hide but with a hard T: Vah-hide
Zuerst - Just say Tsu, then air (but don't put too much emphasis on the r) and then put a st like in stick at the end: Tsu-air-st
The Whole thing should sound like _Vah-hide Tsu-air-st_ (or you could just call it Truth First since that's what it is when translated to English).
@Paul Hardcastle Rainforest bruh
Holy shit that's a great tutorial you made to use english words to replicate german pronunciation. Great job! Echt cool bro

Talentless Nana immediately drew me in. I also started on Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle.
