- Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce has brought forward his retirement by two months to take effect immediately with Vanessa Hudson set to assume the role.
The outgoing CEO has released a statement indicating the public focus on Qantas made it clear the best time to resign was instantly.

I'll ccertainly be thumbing my nose at Qantas and Jetstar given they enforced the bioweapon on their people.
For such an insignificant company, 5% market cap of BHP, no idea y we care for the dreadful service, country reputational damage, $1 billion tax underwritten during COVID and market maniuplation that currently left international flights from Aus about 40% higher in real terms. CLOSE QANTAS, fly QATAR or anything else. NOT a reflection of the gr8 people who work/ed for QANTAS, just sad to see a gr8 carrier fail everyone but investors. I choose not to be a client of QANTAS, which is a sad indictment of a long-lost wonderful Australian company.

Vanessa Hudson has been at Qantas for decades and was Joyce’s CFO for the past 4 years. She was part of the team who made most of the decisions that have brought the company into disrepute. She’s as guilty of this deplorable man.

I hope that the board can see thru this and deny him his bonus allocation as he has stuffed the airline, appears to have colluded with the Prime Minister in denying Qatar further rights to fly into the country and also ripped off the consumer by selling dud tickets on non-existent flights. I hope that the new CEO rescinds Nathan Albanese's right to the high profile lounge.
