I'm sick of hearing: "That's what the British people want!".
Yes I want border control, but I'm not comfortable that some migrants are considered 'sub class humans' that they are denied the status of asylum seeker.

As a p.s. from Wikipedia: Marco Longhi was born in Walsall and grew up in Rome, the son of an Italian airline worker, Antonio Longhi, and a British mother, Josephine Clarke.
Longhi was the director of property management company Justmove (Lettings) Limited, and owns ten houses in Walsall.
Hopefully Mr Longhi won't have to face this dilemma after the next election.

This government have been in power for 14 years, during this period the NHS has been decimated even before COVID, we didn't have huge waiting list or waiting weeks for a doctor's appointment, we could get dental appointments this was under a Labour government, I think they deserve the opportunity to start trying to sort out the huge problems this government will leave for them. Stammer may not be a clown like Boris or a robot like Sunak, hopefully he will be a leader who listens to his party and the people and understands what is needed. I would rather this than another 5 years of Tory corruption and ensuring that they look after the wealthiest in our society while they give vouchers to the disabled instead of benefits and force unemployed people to work for their benefits which will help employers reduce their wage bill and increase their profits.
I get up earlier each day just to fit in the extra despair.😢😢

£500m to send ONE asylum seeker to rwanda, you could build 1500 houses and just give them away to british people who don't own one, or you could heavily subsidize them and build several times more..... but no we'd rather punch down then own homes...

The only problem I can see Labour having when increasing the speed of asylum applications is training new staff quickly enough. However, give it 4-6 months and things will be much, much different.
Having to recruit another 100,000 or 200,000 civil servants is just one of the more obvious Brixit benefits, innit?
When ARE those 50,000 new Customs Officers going to report for their first shift, by the way?

Well, here is your problem .. Labour must (MUST!!!) do the following:
- nationalize rail (along with taking over billions in debt)
- re-nationalize your NHS (also, along with debt to private pharmaceuticals..)
- rebuild/revitalize the "Highstreets"
- possibly look at crumbling infrastructure or general infrastructure projects like your HS1 (or whatever it was called)
- catch up processing asylum seekers and migrants
- do "something" about the cost of living
- probably still further support Ukraine, maintain / modernize the military .. and if Ukraine "wins" (whatever that looks like..) pump at least 10 times that much into rebuilding .. because supporting a war is way, waaaay cheaper than re-building
Those are only the few points from the top of my head ... and every single one of them could severely drive up debt and strengthen not only Tory opposition but also (and unfairly) normal peoples perception.

It is equally s cheap and effective to take up Macron's offer, build an office near Calais and pre-process asylum claims in France, send back who gets refused outright and give ferry tickets to those who have a good claim. Seems thatthe sons and daughters of immigrants in Britain are the most anti immigrant strand of politics.Pressure upon local services comes from real cuts to local government grants. Areas with low immigration still suffer from housing shortages, crumbling classrooms etc. Legal migration however puts local services under stress as newcomers bid for rented accommodation,
health and education services. We are spending too much time talking about 40k boat migrants rather than tge 650k visas granted to students,commonwealth citizens etc.
