Wow are you seriously telling me that I could’ve been using hot glue for those molds? I always thought you needed that “part a part b” type of stuff. This is why I love watching your DIY’s I learn so much. 😩
Absolutely LOVE that second one!! I think I will try something like that to hold crafting supplies. I can't believe I've never seen anyone use hot glue in silicone molds before! That is just genius!!!
This video popped up on my home page; I had never seen your work but I've seen enough really bad dupes "on a budget" to know there Is no way your boxy, plastic Sterilite storage bin was ever going to look anything like the hand-carved wooden inspiration piece. I took a sip of coffee, hit play, and snuggled in for the ensuing train wreck. It looked dicey from the jump but somewhere deep in the dry brushing, i was hit with some sort of sorcery, ancient magic, or voodoo because when we stepped off the ride, you had transformed plastic, glue and acrylic paint into a wooden bedside table that truly looked like the original wooden piece but also evoked the spirit of the hand carved inspiration.
Loved this comment. I'm sometimes unsure of certain projects even when I am in the middle of doing them. Things don't always look exactly as I had envisioned them, but that is part of the fun of crafting.
I am in complete awe of your glue gun glue flowers! You have one of the most creative minds out there. I have 2 3-drawer bins like yours that are old and kind of beat up looking...YEA! I have them in the upstairs bathroom & closet. I'd been wanting to replace them and now I can just redo them and that's a beautiful thing especially since, like everyone else, finances are really close. I have a lot of resin silicone molds & some would be so much fun to use with the glue. Oh boy, another project! But I think this will move to the head of the class, THANK YOU!!
Holy creative genius!!!!! Am I ever glad I didn't get rid of my silicone molds when I stopped cake decorating. You are so very talented, thank you for sharing. 🌼
This video came at a perfect time! I am going to give mine a makeover too. I too am going to make it sturdier with wood feet. I have an old cutting board I will sand and stain for the top and use my leftover burlap glued to strong cardboard for the sides. I was stuck on what to do with the drawers. Your video has given me inspiration! You are extremely creative and inspiring 🤗❤ Thank you!
I wince at these type of (Sterilite) storage systems most often seeing them while thrift-ing or garage sell-ing. They always have the look of the hard knock life. With peeling latex paint, covered sharpie and gel pen marks, hot melt and glitter glue drips, kids stickers stuck on and some ripped and torn off leaving it sticky dirty from the adhesive, and or are just in there with years of embedded dirt grime into its scratches. Well Good Golly, Now I gotta Gush about it. What a wonderful work of magic, that transformation was quite something, I think one can clearly see (by the end result) that love was invested. So now thanks to this video and the on screen Make Over Maven (Thank you Karem!) I won't be a sterilite storage wincer.
Walmart had those black large 3 drawer set of Drawers on clearance for $10! I got 1. I went back the next day and was sad they were gone! But $10 😊 was a gift to me! I loved the 2nd one you did! I wish I had silicone molds like that! It turned out Gorgeous 😊
I can't even believe my eyes! Karem, I am only just finished watching the first transformation. I always say you are talented, but you continually surprise me with your creativity. TFS!!!
I was hesitant of how this was going to turn out but I think she did a good job with prepping and thin layers of all the paint and top coat this could actually last a while. And the base is a really good idea. Subscribed I like that it was done correctly and not rushed 🙏🏻👍🏻
I always love your projects never just small decorative items but things I can actually use. Still the best on RUclips. I love using cosplay glue it has a resin in it so it doesn’t remelt as easily if it gets warm.
That is super cute. I think I would put a sort of handle pull and screw it in so it is usable. It would also keep the raffia from getting dirty from unclean hands... great job
Thanks for the brilliant tip of using hot glue! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that🤔 seems so much easier than having to buy and use resin that probably is also stinky😁 Then the ease of use in the gun to fill in the gaps and using the tip of the gun to melt certain areas as needed-OMG Brilliant!
WOW!! Why did I not think to do this! I'm going to get busy! I have 6 of these I use for craft supplies and never realized I could make them look so beautiful! I can't wait to do this! Thanks for the great idea!! ❤❤❤👏👋👋😃
Absolutely stunning projects!! I would never in my wildest dreams think of doing that! The transformation of those Sterilite drawers if simply amazing!! Thank You for sharing your creative genius!! ♥🥀
1st idea: Im not sure the hot glue will “keep it’s grip” after items are added to the drawers. Also, unless you keep “hot glue” projects in a temperature-controlled environment, heated areas, (outdoor patio, for example), the glue will melt and become pliable. If it’s too cold, the glue will harden and come off. 2nd idea: Hot glue comes in different colors, so there may be no need to paint the molds, depending on your intended usage. Also, the temperature issue is the same. Just my thoughts!! These really are gorgeous and ingenious projects!!!! 🙏🏻❤️
Blessings and Gratitude!!! Absolutely BLEW me away!!! The plastic type drawers is all I buy now due to not being able to pick up heavy dressers/furniture. Ur creations have given me so much hope to try and make my plastic drawers look nicer. Thank you soooo much! I am def subcribing
I have never seen more beautiful Sterlite plastic drawer sets in my life. What an amazing job you did!! I just happened to run across this video on the home page. I’ll be coming back for more!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the first one but the second one is just mind-blowing and amazing! I love everything about both of them and you make it look so easy! I am glad to see someone tackle these types of drawers! You make them look beautiful!!❤
Those were AMAZING! You've given me ideas to try with stuff I already have. I don't know if they'll turn out as pretty as what you've done, but you've also inspired me to start my first RUclips playlist! Thank you!
I was trying to turn some plastic Walmart shelves into something classier and ppl have laughed at me. This was the exact idea I envisioned ❤ so glad I found this channel, great work God bless
Wow! I have just one concern - I thought hot glue didn’t stick well on plastic. Have you had any problem with the molded pieces? Did the paint and glaze stick well? HUGE upscale! ❤ SayessDesign
Wow these two are stunning! I had tons of these and got rid of them cos they looked "cheap" and replaced my craft room storage with floor to ceiling wood shelves instead. Cost me a ton! But for a few straw hats and gazillion hot glue sticks, I could have done this instead!!! I hope Rustoleum sponsors you! They owe you a ton of products if not! 😘
This was just phenomenal!! Simply brilliant! I can't wait to try this on a couple of plastic drawer pieces that I would love to actually match the bathroom decor! Thank you! 💖
I loved both of these makeovers ... I have A.D.D. and having music only makes it hard for me to stay focused on the video but I love your detailed lists to screenshot
The second one is my absolute favorite one!!! I have these drawers already and will be trying something similar with mine Great job! thanks for the inspiration!!!
I know what you mean. My boyfriend gives me a hard time sometimes, telling me to stop while I am ahead. I've definitely added one thing too many to a project in the past and ended up with a result I wasn't happy with, but sometimes you've got to just go for it.
@alisonmary1443, it is just paint. You can always paint over it if you don’t like how it looks aged, right? I say go for it! You might just love the result! You could also paint the silicone pieces *before* you add them to the drawers. That way, you could age only them, make them pop by painting them another color, or even use rub & buff on them.
@@stephaniejordan4970 Thank you so much, been doing my wardrobe and dresser, and I am trying "slightly" aged 😂I'm liking it so far. They are large pieces of furniture that I only want to do once 🤔lol
Wow are you seriously telling me that I could’ve been using hot glue for those molds? I always thought you needed that “part a part b” type of stuff. This is why I love watching your DIY’s I learn so much. 😩
I've seen a few use it many times and paint them etc
You can use hot glue, resin (the part A/B stuff🥰🤗), candle wax, soaps, air dry clay, plaster of Paris, chocolate....so many uses, for those😉❤🙏🏾
I know right!!😊
I was surprised too. Genius idea
❤
Absolutely LOVE that second one!! I think I will try something like that to hold crafting supplies. I can't believe I've never seen anyone use hot glue in silicone molds before! That is just genius!!!
Amazing beautiful craft
Me too! This is amazing!

Hi Nancy. Thank you so much for the nice comments. Glad you enjoyed the video.
These are really amazing, I would have never imagined it was possible to make those plastic drawers look that good.
Holy creative genius!!!!! Am I ever glad I didn't get rid of my silicone molds when I stopped cake decorating. You are so very talented, thank you for sharing. 🌼
I love how your DIYs always look expensive, you can never tell they are made with extremely cheap or Dollar Tree materials!
W
These are both beautiful, but the one with the flowers is absolutely amazing! You're very creative and talented. 🌹🌹
This is so beautiful, who'd have thought it started as a set of plastic drawers. Well done!
Is the best plastic storage transformation 😮😊
Love the idea of recycling an inexpensive summer hat. Fantastic idea using hot glue in a silicone mold. You are so inventive and creative

You turned that from something ordinary to something extraordinary. Beautiful
I was almost buying a set of plastic drawers like that and thought no they're too ugly and then I see your video, WOW what a transformation.
That one with the 3D flowers is stunning!!!

I love how you put feet on them that alone elevates them in style. I all your hard work payed off and they look beautiful.
You are an amazing crafter with great vision, Karem. Thank you for sharing!
Wow!! Karem's at it again folks! More great designs and ways to get that expensive look for a smaller budget! Both storage compartments are so cool!😍
