Chris Simms doesn't want the punishment to ruin Rashee Rice's life or career? Really? Are we still talking about the same grown man who showed no concern for the lives and careers of the countless motorists he and his buddies endangered on the day of the crash? He and his pals fled the scene of a crash with injury victims... a crash that they caused. Hilariously, after avoiding the cops for a week or more, Rashee's lawyer states that his client "takes full responsibility for his actions." No, he doesn't. That ship has sailed. All I know is that I'd be sitting in a jail cell right now if I pulled the same garbage as these guys... and nobody would be suggesting that I was a nice guy who just had a lapse of judgment. I don't care about any person's fame or money-making potential when their careless behavior has a high probability of straight-up killing other innocent people. Time to pay the "Iron Price."

The NFL suspending Rashee Rice isn't going to do anything about street-racing.
This is a political/criminal issue, not a sports one, Rice should be given an actual jail sentence.
Ban him for life or don't, I couldn't care less, I just don't see what lasting effect it has on anybody tho.

I think the NFL will suspend Rice for the entire 2024 season. If he had “just” been racing and gotten ticketed for reckless driving and causing an accident - I believe you get ticketed in most states for simply being guilty of a crash - and he moves the car to the side of the freeway and waits for cops to show up, maybe he gets a two-game suspension. But he did way worse than that by leaving his car in the road, not giving the other drivers insurance information, and leaving the scene. If I were the commissioner I’d suspend him a year.
