Also, I believe, you have to weigh the consequences of silence over being outspoken or over spoken because the dynamics of this world have changed the definition of silence by putting people in the dock for not speaking so often as a mark of not being a team player and or implicit/tacit approving of something by remaining less vocal or ‘mute’ - so one may use his wisdom and the best judgement for the definition of silence for a given case or situation so the desired impact is achieved!
Haram 3aleyk ya shaykh...all my life, from childhood, i was oooso silent. Spoke with few words. Since two years of so i have been learning to verbally interact with people on social media, with sometimes unfortunate consequences for others and myself, but despites the wrong footsteps, i enjoy these interactions which sometimes are "rich". This khutba is hard waLlahi 😇

I am speak very little and not greedy for dunya. But people instead blame and admonish me to talk more. Always. And I end up not being confident enough to socialize, because they always comment on my silence. Anyone know a solution for my problem?
Pray for me guys Insha’Allah female here. I was told weird girls are insanely quiet 🤫 I was quiet in middle school and I thought I was going to be overlooked so come highschool I would overspeak and made myself look like an idiot. Why are women in the west expected to be extremely talkative?
The man who lives by the philosophy of "why say something in 10 words when you can say it in 100 words". Rather ironic that the lesson on "The Beauty of Silence" is being given by Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi.
People talk a lot about men and masculinity, and they say: "So and so is a man", and if they want to praise someone they say "He is a man, he is one of the men". The one who doesn't pray Salah with the congregation on continual basis is not from those men whom Allah has praised. If one desires masculinity, then masculinity is to stand in row with the men for the five prayers. “I aspire to become a millionaire, [not for personal gain but] to provide a helping hand to those burdened by usurious loans. By providing them with fair loans and to liberate them from the shackles of debt [and empower them without financial constraints].”
I speak less but sometimes i feel my silence back fires me. My mother in law tells every guest and my husband that I don't help her and work .when she needs me. But behind the guest and when my husband is not around she takes every bit of work from me,but in front of them she pretends I do nothing how to handle this situation, should I speak near the guest.and how to make my husband belief that I worked.every day my home is becoming a court, What should I do should I keep silent when they are on phone calls and lieing to relatives, what should I do, please help me
When one commits much sin the person cannot sit in silence. Their voice constantly needs to twist sounds and hear inappropriate sounds. Sheikh Hamzah mentioned about the tongue and soul in connection with sinning, wish I could find that video. I noticed in the lgbtq community this type of excessive sounds with voices is prevalent. Contrastingly,, when you walk among successful people, i.e the executive board room offices or high offices, libraries you will find the people are quiet most of the day because reflection is in a peace state
Assalamualaikum...I don't doubt what our prophet Mohammad(PBUH) said..BUT WHAT IF THERE'S ONLY HUSBAND, WIFE IN THE HOUSE AND THE HUSBAND USES THIS SAYING AS AN EXCUSE TO ALWAYS REMAIN QUIET, BEING WITH HIS PHONE OR LAPTOP?? IS THAT GOOD TO IGNORE A WIFE BY APPLYING A SUNNA FOR SELF BENEFIT?? When a husband is the best speaker, crack jokes etc.,when he is among his family or friends or any gathering but always silent & busy in his own world, no conversation to the wife & kids..😥😢😭💔
Assalamoualaikum My sister, it is not good exposing your husband openly like this. Sit and speak to him. See where the problem is n try to resolve. Sheikh yasi and mufti menk and many of our Muslim scholars who are speaking almost 24 hours need this advice, I honestly listen to all of them but I sometimes wonder when do they have time to read and increase their knowledge being that they are always traveling and talking, we all know those who talk a lot make mistakes. Their work much more important right now, in this day and age, than silence! This won’t be achieved by the knowledgeable scholars being silent!
