Wha Dat Sound System: Barry G, Django, Danny Culture, Daddy Reagan, Little Kirk,
WAH DAT Disco, spearheaded by Barry Gordon, was very popular in the dance hall arena from 1983 up to Papa Chris bure and Django were the asso Pada O Lord and Daddy With Barry G being one of th vs special guests' artistes, with WAH DAT sound, it was my would generally rule the when Barry G entered the WAH DAT Disco to the latter years of the decade. The sound system had Lid winning top disc-jockey Barry G as the selectors. Danny the associate deejays and they were joined most times by dand Daddy Reagan.
one of the top radio personalities in Jamaica, there were al artistes appearances at the WAH DAT disco dancehalls. Yet it was music from the Boogie Man's vast catalogue that Lule the night. Selector Papa Chris always kept the vibes going but sred the dancehall and opened his specialized virtual “musical cocoa basket' it would become a completely different party. Bringing his trademark “Ouch” lingo to the microphone, it was all about sheer 'excitement.
Famous for special guests? moes it is safe to say that about 20% of Jamaica's top dancehall singers and peared on the WAH DT sound system. Although the line-up of ar contributed somewhat to the large number of followers, it was the presence Boogie Man that captivated the fans. He was the main attraction. Jessed with a clear, distinctive and unmistakable voice, Barry G the King of ning time radio was the centrepiece of dancehall on the airwave. Therefore, any time WAH DAT and the Boogie Man were in town, radio fans were always exited shout the event. From the little school children to the adults, everyone came out in numbers to see the great man they hear on the radio. Hearing this great disc jockey on the radio, then seeing him live in the dancehall was quite a pleasure for his many followers.
WAH DAT Disco was not only “big” because of Barry G and his collection of music, it was really physically a big sound system in terms of components. It was considered to be a real heavyweight. So heavy was the baseline on the WAH DAT disco that Barry G always joking warned the bubblers (dancers), “don't dance too close to WAH DAT boxes, it will affect your love making!”
With the elite Barry G around, every WAH DAT party was more like a stage show than a regular dancehall. There was always a form of order in the place. With his famous introductions like - "calling Danny Culture to the microphone,” he would address each entertainer with respect and great professionalism. He commanded the dancehall with authority.
hough not a popular recording artiste, Danny Culture stood his grounds in nicehalls. He would let other deejays know that he was "bad in a the country " Kingston, mash down Arena and tear down Stadium.” As his name he was the epitome of what it meant to be culturally and lyrically appealing. Sun and Veteran deejay O Lord always got the vibes going from early in They would start the ball a rolling for the early patrons and interchanged Daddy Reagan and Veteran the night.

1:00: Sensi getting prepared while the "Herbsman Hustling" riddim plays. Gotta love these vids. Wicked session. Mini Mart was tearing it up round about this time as well. When sound system was real. Anyone can bring a laptop to a dance and play tunes. But THIS is actual skill, to chat proper lyrics in a live situation. Plus you can't get every tune on download, and that's where vinyl has the edge. There's many rare tunes I have to see upload on RUclips!
Good like gold
TRUTH
Unique singer like Little John, no autotune one aways
That's is not "sensi" or "sinsemilla " or "seedless " in spanish ,de ganga in se video have a lots of seed.

What made Wha Dat stand out is that Barry G acted as the sole emcee. At that time, most sounds didn't have an acting emcee. DJs performed while simultaneously introducing dubplate and 45 selections.
