I really hope Hope sees this, or someone else already mentioned it. The fabric that was used in that tik tok I'm almost 100% sure is Liquid Metallic Satin, if it's not that there are two others that are super close as well, Liquid Organza, and Liquid Lame. All three are metallic in appearance with different levels of opacity. Hope that helps!

Yeah, these were party favors from Oriental Trading when millennials were kids. Now I wonder if we still have one hiding in a box of old toys… noisemakers, the bane of all parents. 😂 I forgot about swinging over the head. We also used quick wrist twists to make it arch back and forth. We definitely did all things you did, Hope, so you did just fine.

You need to use actual purple sweet potatoes or yams (Ube) for that sweet potato desert. They have a pleasant sweet vanilla taste that would be excellent for it. If you have any health food stores or Asian markets, you can usually find one or the other. I hate orange sweet potatoes but the purple sweet potatoes are amazing especially with some sweet coconut milk drizzled over.

You could also use taro. It is used in a lot of Asian sweets, and is really so yummy!! My favorite flavor!!

For removing glitter from hair (from a dancer who often has a glitter hair look) - SCALP SCRUB! Head and shoulders has a great one. Might take 2 uses but it works way better than shampoo alone!
Also try using a clear gel as a base before the glitter, that way less ends up on the actual scalp ❤❤

The sweet potato dessert: they likely used Ube yams, which have a caramel/vanilla/hazelnut kind of flavor and are sweeter than our typical yellow sweet potato. Ube is also naturally purple and the purple pigment was once highly sought after as a natural dye.
It was a Japanese desert, so they probably used Okinawan sweet potato. Ube is not a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine.
My first guess was Taro since it's also a natural purple and has a nutty earthy taste
that purple version probably used purple sweet potato (either taro or ube) which colors it naturally. it’s not supposed to be super sweet either.

@@hopescope honestly, they are super hard to find in North America! Most prepared Ube stuff available at grocery stores is artificial Ube flavour anyways😕 Glad you liked it still with the ones you could find☺️
if you’re still wondering abt the weird green thing that came with the slime, it’s called a pop tube. it’s just a fidget and you’re just supposed to stretch it out and in and like/listen to the noises

My childhood home in Kansas was the most haunted place I’ve ever lived. My mom worked nights so as a teen I was home alone a lot. I remember hearing stomping up the stairs and down the hallway while sitting in my bedroom, horrible sleep paralysis (where I felt something/someone sleeping next to me) shadow figures walking down the stairs and hallways, a headstone on the property, things being knocked off my bathroom shelves, my cats “watching and following” things I couldn’t see etc. when I moved out of that house I felt like a giant dark energy was lifted from me and I’m okay with never returning to that house:)

Just spent 2 months in Tokushima, Japan and they have special sweet potatoes there (Naruto Kintoki). They do so many cool things with them. My favorite was the basic sweet potato tempura, but it was amazing to see how creative the restaurants and dessert shops would get with sweet potatoes.

For the sweet potato one you should try and get ube it’s a purple sweet potato that actually takes like desert and you won’t need food coloring 😊 oh and Trader Joe’s some times has mochi made if ube 😊

The "sweet potato" in that mont blanc is most likely ube, which is a yam. It gets called purple sweet potato because it has purple flesh, but it's not actually related to sweet potato. The flavor and texture is different, it's kind of vanilly. People dye it purple because the color is not as intense when mixed in desserts and to signal the flavor. Like when strawberry things get dyed pink.

The dessert you saw @13:25 looks like spaghetti ice in Germany (but it was ice cream). I was there for a few years as a youth and I still dream of it decades later. Something about the shape and super cold texture give the ice cream a bite/crunch to it... =) I had mine with cholate sauce and cut strawberries

Oh, that water slime triggered a memory. In the nineties there was a candy that was gloopy like this. I never saw it is stores but we (the kids) got it from the gas employee when my parents tanked. It was packaged in a flat tray that had an indent shaped like mickey/super man/goofy/... It was an edible slime that was so fun to eat.
