Great band, but they're already went from this sound to a bit more proggier/jazzier direction. I suggest that you check out something from their last record like song 'Sugar/Tzu' any time in future. It is a really cool and well-performed chaotic jazz-rock tune.
He's saying "there's lead in the water" btw referencing the Detroit water issue (hence the name). I'd do a deep dive on Black Midi, they have such a wide range of styles. Think you'd find it all very interesting.
in case you havent seen it yet, the title is "Near Detroit, Michigan" and it's about the water in Flint. "the water's foul! and it's hard to breathe! there's lead in the water! there's lead in the water!" and so on
DT MI is Detroit Michigan, the song is about the water situation there I'm sure everyone is familiar with. LOVE the direction you are going geebz, Black midi is amazing. Cheers 🍻
Love this band - you have to check out the video for "John L" from them - it's like Dr. Seuss on an acid trip. But the video is a must watch with the song.
So glad you've checked them out, Geebz! They are so talented and creative, can't wait for what they are going to do next. Cheers! P.S.: Wrong cover art though :P
Geebz my man! I'm so glad you got to this band, imo they're the most interesting/surprising and boundry pushing band of the last 10 years. This if from their debut album and I really hope you get to some later material like sugar/tsu or slow, as they show the bands more current Jazzy theatrical material.
Check out black country, new road's debut album for the first time and there latest album ants from up there both bands are friends with each other and both make great music
I would STRONGLY recommend some of their proggier later stuff. I know it's their popular one, but I think John L is such a perfect introduction to their sound, or maybe Slow. I also agree with another commenter that Sugar/Tzu is great. Also note, this isn't the main singer!! You've GOTTA hear Greep sing - Edit: for clarification I LOVE Cam's voice, he's an amazing singer, and in my opinion a better singer in terms of vocal skill and technicality........ BUT Black Midi wouldn't be Black Midi without Greep's voice
The name of the band makes sense now. At first I thought reading black midi that this will be a black midi genre tune (play a large number of notes with midi instruments) and how interesting it would be to see something like that on a reaction channel. It was interesting non the less and the music was as chaotic as a black midi tracks mostly are.
As I feel it, BM are trying to run everybody out of the room, the music seems to be so inaccessible, but in same time it calls me back to have more and more and... scream at me, plese, again.
My biggest suggestion is Kardashev - Compost Grave Song. Fantastic metal track with some great vocals. Pallbearer - I Saw The End, anything from HEALTH, Ayreon is a sick prog rock band, Modest Mouse's older albums have tons of great tracks. Oh here's a good one, Melt Banana. You'll understand why if you try out a track. Gospel - Yr Electric Surge is Sweet
One of my favorite bands in this avant-garde style is still Ephel Duath. Geebz (or anyone reading this.) Do yourself a favor and check out "Ephel Duath : The Passage" or any track from The Painter's Palette. Have an awesome day! 🎨 🖌
Question for Geebz Would it be easier for you to see new suggestions on the suggestions Video if we added onto our current comment? which would reduce clutter. or should we add a new post so you can just sort by newest and keep up with the date that you stopped on previously?
Requests might only be delivered via Patron (?) but it would be awesome to see a reaction to Drewsif Stalins Musical Endeavors - Bereft. Such a great djenty-boi that needs more clout
Black MIDI = Set MIDI dial to randomize and run with it!! Not my cup of tea , but very interesting!! This is post apocalyptic music you would see in a movie about the future . Guy walks by a dive bar and this noise is coming out. He walks in to see a bunch of colored hair mohawk people shakin and bouncin like they having a seizure !! IDK bout these youngin's these dayz!!!!

Sugar/Tzu is crazy good!
Sugar/Tzu is one of my favourite pieces of the last 10 years
That or Welcome to Hell
Agree
They're so talented. Morgan Simpson is prob the most gifted young drummer i can think of.

Wow, thank you so much for that.
I saw them play on a tiny stage in Iceland. The drummer was different gravy.
heard this band for the first time about 5 hours ago, I like them

Best band ever
Would love to see you react to bmbmbm by these guys. Also, pretty sure "DT, MI" is Detroit Michigan

You should check out their new album
Unexpected but amazing to see you check out black midi. Would be awesome to see you check out something from the albums Hellfire or Cavalcade as well
As I feel it, BM are trying to run everybody out of the room, the music seems to be so inaccessible, but in same time it calls me back to have more and more and... scream at me, plese, again.
Best band on earth right now, i clicked this video so damn fast lol. TBE
would love to see u reacting to Yellow days songs
Hope Sugar Tzu is next!
More black midi please!!!
Lead in the water! Near Detroit Michigan, flint
Thank you so much for checking out black midi! I had a feeling you'd dig it :)
That’s interesting ! 👌
This wasn't math rock but math punk. It'd be pure punk if you remove some complexity.
Great band! Hoping for more black midi!

This is crazy good
The newer stuff is on another level. Not to say this is great though
Also check out his song "rise". Love your work decomposer
Nothing wrong with sounding like Slint
oh my god I've never pressed a video so fast
One of my favorite bands in this avant-garde style is still Ephel Duath. Geebz (or anyone reading this.) Do yourself a favor and check out "Ephel Duath : The Passage" or any track from The Painter's Palette. Have an awesome day! 🎨 🖌
YES
Try Welcome to hell from Black midi- great song! 🤘🏼
Fuck yeah more noise rock
YOU HAVE TO DO THE RESONANCE PROJECT NEXT. Best metal band of the year easily
Dude, I am hoping you have Lorna Shore on your list. The pain remains trilogy is a masterpiece.
I wasnt too impressed with them live besides the vocalist.
If i picked anything deathcore for review it would be despised icon 100%
Question for Geebz

Hey geebz man! Check out this new group from Ireland called "The Enigma Division".I recommend the song "Echoes in the deep". You're welcome 😉
Hey! I'd highly recommend reacting to Hellfire by this band. Such a complex, fun but also heavy song
Requests might only be delivered via Patron (?) but it would be awesome to see a reaction to Drewsif Stalins Musical Endeavors - Bereft. Such a great djenty-boi that needs more clout
Hey men! Sleep token new song Vore. If you want dig into this awesome songm ! By the way Big love from Quebec, Canada. It is cold here hahaha

Oh, I thought you were listening to a Black Midi (the genre) song, haha. Some of those songs literally have millions of notes.
I'm sorry, but to get the vibe of this song, you really need to know what it's about IMHO.
when this band came out i wanted them to be the most famous ever :) im glad they are not but they are excellent
They’re insanely overrated, I wish I could get paid to as much as these guys for whatever skill they have😊
Is this a joke?
If you cant see the talent in the composition, you're lacking a lot of musical insight
Did you mean underrated orrrrrr are you deaf
"Whatever skill"? Really? Well, other than being incredible musicians who put together very fun, complex arrangements... then yeah, I get your point 😒
@@justsomejusstsome8994 just because it has no rhythm doesn’t mean it’s deep. This is terrible…
