Hey all! Sorry for the long gap since the last video. Other than scripting, this video will hopefully provide a bunch of good info on how to build interesting things in Horizon Worlds. I just have scripting left to teach for this series, and I'll try to get that video done quicker than this one ;) Feel free to toss any questions into the comments, and I'll see you in a couple weeks for the next video!
@@josetteseitz Unfortunately not 😢 The tech is built into the engine though-Meta’s own Connect event that happens in Worlds every year has video feeds built into the world, so it’s possible at a technical level. Hopefully this is possible for the public to use sometime in the future!
@@dhelberg thanks so much for clarifying this. The only videos I see are worlds done by Meta- so it makes sense now that I don’t see it anywhere else. Another question- can we import our own 3D models or images into our newly created world?
@@josetteseitz Not yet to the general public, but that’s definitely coming! If you search for “tri-mesh” in Horizon Worlds, you’ll find worlds from a handful of creators that utilize 3D assets imported from desktop apps like Blender. Many of Meta’s own worlds utilize this functionality as well. I’m not sure about the timeline of when this will be available (they announced this feature over a year ago at Connect 2022), but it’s definitely coming at some point. Since worlds using this functionality already exist, hopefully it isn’t too far away! As far as images go, I imagine that will be possible once you can import your own 3D assets (since you could always just import a simple rectangle with a photo as the texture), but I’m not sure if they’ll let you bring in your own photos directly within Worlds. Let’s hope that they do!
Only episode 2 but this has inspired me to try to do something even just as simple as just following what you do. You convey the information in a very effective way that makes the process less intimidating.
Wow another great video and very informative I really appreciate the way you explain everything keep them coming it's helping me with my world-building
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU for creating these videos! Wow, these are so helpful and you do an excellent job teaching. These makes building seem so much more accessible than I thought it was. BRAVO!
Thanks for making great tutorials for Horizon. Really good work. Though please consider skipping the background music for future tutorials. You earned a sub.
In the video I'm simply resetting the world by opening my Build Menu, going to the Scripts panel, and hitting the "reset" button in the top right corner of that menu. To do that for a game mechanic via scripting, Vidyuu has a good tutorial about that here: ruclips.net/video/K4d3yQMLxzs/видео.html

Thank you David for this awesome video. Question, do you know if you can embed mp4 videos in Horizon Worlds?

I have found, through the years, that constructing objects, as they exsist within our actual world, is a great way to model ...
This is an amazing tutorial! Well done 👍

Hi Papo! From FMS Rapper to RUclipsr speaking in English
Would love to be able to create a world from my PC.
