- This is 'Rain' by The Cult from the 1985 album "Love". Love, is the second studio release by the Cult and features the super popular song She Sells Sanctuary. This song Rain, is also a fantastic song. If you watch this video until at least 3 minutes or so.....you can see me smack myself in the eye with a drumstick. Fun!!

Fantastic job here Robb. I really love this track and you played it very well. I didn’t even notice the eye glass hit. I was filming a week or so and hit my finger not once but twice in the same spot 😣 anyway awesome job all around.

Thanks much Brandon!! The Kick has been the most difficult thing for me figure out so far. I only have room for 1 mic on the kick (8 tracks), so it's hard to really get a beefy' er sound. But I do think my last couple videos have started to have a little better sound as I continue tweaking it. Thanks for noticing. I smack my eyeglasses at least once a year with a stick.....no ear shots yet!!! LOL

Awesome sound and spot on drumming! I always wanted to play in a tribute band for The Cult, but difficult to find anyone that can sing like Ian. I like the glasses adjustment without missing a beat! 👓 Kick ass cover MrRobb!
Thanks Rich!! You and I have exchanged stories about this band before. Ian basically scolded the audience (when opening for Metallica, back in the day). I've never forgotten how upset he was.....but they were great. And I love several of their songs, this one is one of my favorites.

Hahahaha......Helmut comes in Handy. Literally laughed out loud (then told my wife why I was laughing). Hadn't thought about how that is actually a safety feature. I smack myself about once a year in the glasses with a drumstick. Perhaps I am playing a little out of control. LOL. Thanks for watching....probably see a new video of yours later today.

Thanks for the comments DC! I am always fiddling with the amount of reverb I use on the snare for each song. I think I added more reverb to the bottom microphone on this. If there is one thing I have learned (and someone suggested to me) is to use a top and bottom mic. It has made a world of difference in the ability to tweak upper and lower reverbs in the mix. Hope that's helps!
