Dived with and photogrpahed a clouded angleshark on the nearby Izu peninsula a couple of years ago. they're Big fellas. i assume 'not seen in 10 years' was referring to the Boso pensinula as there have been a few sightings of this species around Mikomoto in recent years.
So awesome! That red stingray is wild to see. Plus the angel shark is a once in a lifetime experience. I bet the adrenaline rush you get from these finds is better than any drugs.

Hi forest! Just wanted to day, thanks for making "extinct or alive", I loved that show. Sadly over here they dont broadcast newer episodes anymore😢 still so amazing to see you find animals!
For those saying that he shouldn’t go near a stingray or what happened to Steve would happen to him, you don’t need to worry. The ray only attacked Steve because it was acting in defense whether it was thinking Steve was a shark or because he was cornered. It was also only fatal to Steve because of where it hit. Yes you should be careful with animals because they are still wild.
Hey Forrest, I’m a New Zealand Based Biologist Ornithologist and Seabird fanatic. We’re home to some 33% of the worlds Tubenosed seabirds including 14 species of Albatross. The majority of which are either endangered or critically endangered mostly due to fisheries interactions and climate change/ocean warming. Would absolutely love to have you come down and talk about their plight, given the longline tuna fishery driven by consumption in the US Asia and Europe is a major contributing factor. Would be awesome to get your exposure and enthusiasm behind these guys. I have contacts within the national wildlife service who’re also experts on our seabirds who I can get involved too. Would absolutely love to hear from your team! Cheers, David Thomas
The clouded angle shark looks so mesmerizing and beautiful. It'd be awesome to get a poster of one just to stare at it.😍 Incredible trip , bravo and congratulations.🎉
They look like an in between state of a shark and a ray and the fact they they can breath while staying still is awesome. Those are some really unique sharks
I am in awe of the clouded angel shark! Absolutely beautiful! And to see that feeding frenzy by the banded hound sharks was incredible! Also, I have a new goal in life; I want to pet a red stingray puppy! Thank you!
Hey Forrest! I loved you because you made my imagination for adventure and love for animals since I was a kid, and I loved your series called "Extinct or alive" and I really wanted to see more of that series like more episodes and seasons! omg the thrill and challenge of shark diving in one of the world's most biodiverse regions. btw how can divers and researchers contribute to their preservation while minimizing risks during encounters?
Damn. time makes me sad. i remember these weren't even endangered when i was young. were in fact like a flagship species for angelsharks. first time i truly felt the world fading around me.
According to official conservation status the Japanese Angelshark (Critically Endangered) is more endangered and rarer than the Clouded Angelshark (Endangered).
"I went shark diving to find the world's rarest shark, the clouded angelshark, in Japan." The lost shark (Carcharhinus obsoletus), which is the only shark to be considered possibly extinct: Are you fucking kidding me?
Love the content proper real person I remember singing pieface pieface give us a song many years ago in block 16 then you would belt out sweet molly malone! Glad you’re doing well for yourself
Criminy, I thought for a second there you were fixing to get Steve Irwin'd. Couldn't pay me to poke a stingray... I like being unpunctured and all that too much.
Andy, I’m not sure what you thought a predator would do with you taunting it like that & invading its personal spaces from on top of it. I’d expect more caution from a trained diver.
so they definitely werent trying to taunt it, he was trying to move sand away to get a better picture. They knew it were in the risks which is why he went right back to taking photos after the bite. Unfazed because they knew it was a possibility the entire time
I'm sure Andy is fine, most likely he has puncture proof gloves made out of Kevlar and other material on. I didn't see blood cloud out in the water like is does any other time.

If u are looking for the rarest shark… I dare u to find the Ganges Shark, never been seen alive, more unknown than the clouded angel shark and never been seen for 16-20 years! Do that and I shall subscribe
Would you want to be bit by a clouded angelshark?
Nah man.
Sure! Makes for a good war story. Risk/ Reward is worth it.
@ForrestGalante Nope, but thanks to this video, I got to see someone else get bit by one. 😆
Every shark can’t be the rarest shark
yess def
That clouded angel shark is gorgeous!

As an animal lover, and had been for over 30 years, the Clouded Angel Shark was absolutely breathtaking.

I mean it still wasn’t Steve’s fault. Any of these stingrays could make the exact same mistake
That's a really cool place. The mountain in the background is also beautiful. The biodiversity is amazing.
I think the Japanese angel shark is more beautiful, love the patterns. But the clouded is so large its got that wow factor
watch his shark week show he did, he also finds one of those

I’d argue that the Mark Cuban is a much more rare shark since there’s only one in existence
One too many
Cuban aint his real name.
"Abundance of pray" AKA "baiting"
You should cover the topic of the Wallace line. Can you explain why animals don't seem to cross the Wallace line?
Not an expert on this but is guess it's something to do with the different salinity and stuff like that.
Dayum, found all three in 6 minutes.
Pretty quick.
Hahaha 👏
