Your Solo Play through are awesome. Perfect Camera Settings, clear Voice, Perfect rules. No one can do this like you. You did it, well done and thanks a lot !
I think this is the best playthrough I have ever watched. You have set a new standard on game playthroughs; particularly production quality, editing, sound quality and camera positioning. You should be very proud of your work. I am subscribing immediately.
I just played my first ever Lacerda: On Mars solo, after studying your how to plays. Both watching your tutorials, studying the game, and playing my first session have been tons of fun. I never imagined such rich and complex games could be so fulfilling, but your how to play was a tremendous help in learning. You've really done a great job in explaining and visualising the game. Thanks!
Tried the solo and made a bunch of mistakes while having fun. Decided to watch your video. Very helpful, thank you. Helped show a few rules I missed. Video was clear and nicely filmed.
Absolutely brilliant. Finally getting around to putting On Mars on the table and this playthrough and your other rules videos are a great help. Well done!
Wow the quality of your videos is amazing.. Followed all the On Mars videos to learn how to play, I will make sure to use more of your videos for future games I need to learn. I think it is by far the best how to play videos I've seen.
Hola, mi enhorabuena, es el mejor video que he visto de una partida en solitario a este magnifico juego. Muy bien explicado y con detenimiento y enseñando todas las opciones posibles que se pueden adoptar. Gracias por este video.
You iz geniuz. Thanks for saving me days of frustration, with only a mangled manual to show for it. So helpful. I was especially confused about the scientist, moving and scoring. Wish you had a video on how you made this video!
Thank you so much for this. The manual does a poor job of understanding Laacerda's turns and this video has helped massively (and i'm only around 10 mins in 😅)
Excellent work. Your first advanced building, moisture vaporator, requires that the tech be in play on a board before one can boost with workers to build a complex. Just read a BGG post where Lacerda confirmed.
@55:45 Lacerda had the above Tech Tile on his board at Level 2. So the move was Legal. The only thing I believe that was missing in the Action was giving Lacerda an Oxygen Resource Tile for the Action.
Came here to confirm, Lacerda DOES lose points for unbuilt blueprints at the end of the game. I admit I didn't watch the whole thing, but have a like and sub!
Really nice playthrough. You seem to have gotten the solo mode much better than I did haha, I wound up selling the game off bc I couldn't grok the Lacerda automa. Hopefully with the new planned solo mode, I can get the game back and give it another go.
Hi Michael, Thanks so much! I am really interested in the newly planned solo mode for this one. You can see in this playthrough it is fun, but some strange things can happen to the Lacerda.
Oh, I played 9 games already and just now learned that the Blueprint action for building uses worker enforcement as 1 level of tech per worker, instead of an additional build action. The icography is the same as for the upgrade action where it means 1 additional upgrade action per worker. :(
I thought when you use another player's tech that player can advance only the tech that was used (or keep the oxygen) I can't see anywhere in the rules that states it's different for solo??
Nice video and very helpful! I think that there’s a mistake at 43:17. After putting down the water building, a complex was not created or had its size increase. see page 13 - standalone builds don’t allow the progress marker to advance. keep up the great work!
@@BaryhoCZ No, Russ is wrong. There is no mistake. @Modern Cardboard only moved the LSS marker (for building) and because he did not increase the size of the complex - he did not put the Progress cube on the board. Everything is correct.
Very nice explanation video :) I have been struggling with learning the rules for so long! this really helped :) Question on round 13: when you used the free Executive action of your advanced building and pushed to do a 3rd level of upgrade, aren't you supposed to send a colonist to your working area to pay for the extra level?
small question: Lacerda was building different types of buildings but only 1 of his progress cubes is out on the board. Was this something that was forgotten or is that progress cube only taken off the player board when Lacerda does the construct as his main action?
I would have to go back and visit the rules a bit on this one, but if I recall, the Lacerda has to meet certain requirements to place a progress cube and perhaps may have not. If you have a timestamp from the video, I will check this out.
If I can remember this one correctly from the video, since the Lacerda could not do anything with the advanced building first turn order space he landed on , he defaulted to moving his rover right away. Hope that helps and hope I remembered correctly :)
@@ModernTablegamer 3:19 You do just that, right off the bat due to Lacerda receiving the Colonist bonus. I missed it. I checked the rules again and realized that my mind remembered the piece moved to be the Bot which had me wondering how Lacerda's Rover gets moved at all. Thanks.
1:11:00 - Lacerda shouldn't have develop the highest Tech tile twice, only the Tech tile that was used and only once. This is not the same action as on the main board. 1:20:58 - Lacerda should gain a crystal..
HI Adam, I upgraded the additional buildings for the Lacerda based on the level of his tech tile after he received the upgrade a building benefit (upgrade one additional building per level of tech for this tech tile). During the game however, I wasn't sure if using the tech tile when gaining a benefit was legal or not. I knew it was if the Lacerda were to take an action, but couldn't remember if it was when he or a player gained a benefit by advancing the tech tile. So I just made the call to do it like this in the video and I just looked this up and voila! It does appear to be legal as you can use your tech tiles when you take an action and when you receive a benefit according to the tech tile blurb on page 11 of the rule book. Unless I missed something else ;).
@@ModernTablegamer Thanks! If a player did this, they'd have to pay any associated costs with upgrading, correct? Seems a bit unbalanced that Lacerda can just crank out 3 advanced buildings for nothing. I'd probably avoid using his tech like the plague then.
@@ModernTablegamer I think though, when you upgraded the tech from using Lacerda's battery tech, you have to upgrade the battery tech (the oxygen placed at the top of the board has to be used to upgrade the tech the opponent used on their turn). You upgraded his shelter tech instead which actually is the one tech that no other player can ever use except its owner....
Lacerda had "Efficient Building" tech tile at Level 2[ "Whenever you are performing an Upgrade (Main action, Executive action, OR AS A BENEFIT), upgrade a number of extra Buildings up to the level of the Tech."] This in conjunction with his Lab benefit achieved on the fly [Tech Tile "Upgrade 1 Building following normal rules. May use Tech. For each [colonist] sent to your Working Area, you may perform 1 additional upgrade."] could result in upgrading up to 4 buildings [and counting...] in a single shot for free (if he moves a colonist [or more..] in WA too). For free as "Lacerda never collects or stores resources. He never pays Resources to take any action." So it was all legal.

this one was lowered due to the indication on the Lacerda card. The left arrow lowers this and the "X" does not if I remember correctly.
