Multi finish requires two coats so too fussy to use in small areas. The filler wouldn’t be great for larger areas as it almost always requires sanding afterwards.
My partner and I have just moved into an old 2 bedroom council flat. There's a lot of work needed, the walls are all pock marked, and a lot of the plaster has come away from the brickwork when removing architraves or skirting board. Is Multi finish ok to go straight on top of old render plaster? or should I prep it with PVA mix? Some areas the old paint has chipped off, but left a smooth finish coat underneath, should I build this back up with Multi finish or Easy Fil? the area is about 60cm2 and about 2 -3 mm deep.
I have removed kitchen tiles in advance of re-tiling. On removing the old tiles, I am left with the bare wall being roughly 50% clean plasterboard showing through and 50% a thin (1 or 2mm) scattering of plaster, the rest of the plaster is on the back of the tiles. What would you recommend please and when, if ever, should PVA enter the process.
Thanks John. Very helpful indeed.
Little tip when doing the chases mate sponge off the edges makes them look a lot neater 👍🏻
Hey - noticed you used 2 different finishes; filler for one area and then multi finish for another. what would be the difference? thanks!

Weird that it wasn't explained in the video! Seems like filler is the way to go for a novice/DIYer
Is the 10KG tub of Thistle Bonding 60 already to be added to the wall? Is it mixed? Do we have to add water?

Hi, so it's perfectly fine to use multifinish over bonding?
what substance makes this particular mud brown? I thought gypsum was just white.
the colour varies depending on where it's mined from
