Yup! While I was waiting for this I tried to recreate the look. Even used Dehancer. I gotta say, came pretty close to being spot on. Beautiful look! Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re making things and sharing.
10:40 grain was good; made it feel more nostalgic and kept this project like a mental, dark, flashback. ✌🏻 too funny i've heard "Director of Photography" quite a few times now since I grilled ya on it 😊
@@carstenschlag Carsten, no pressure, but i'm building my cinematic prowess upon your guidance 😁 but seriously, keep it up your lessons are building well. ✌🏻
Hi..new around here. I’m proud of you and I don’t even know you. Proud because you made an idea come to life on film. I have yet to accomplish this goal. My plan to make it happen is in the works. In the meantime, yourvideo gave me so much insight with attaining my filmmaking goals. Edit: My comment was intended for your Cash or Credit video. While I was typing the video ended and transitioned me to another one of your videos.
On this project I didn’t, but I have in the past! What has always fixed it for me is in the curves lifting my black point to where the shadows are just a little raised but still dark. Appreciate you watching!!
Sure thing! I believe it’s a 2022 M1 MacBook Pro with 16 gigs of ram and 512 gig storage. It works pretty well, I will say though I do have to do put playback quality on half or quarter once I’ve done heavy grading. If that doesn’t bother you I’d recommend it! Appreciate you watching !
@@carstenschlag Thank You so Much for the reply! Highly appreciated. im down with 16 gigs too. I was just worried about getting a wrong ram for dehancer.
Dehancer is slowly becoming a cancer on the industry. I feel like no one actually understands look development and color grading anymore because it's made so easy by using LUTs and FPE.
that's a fair point. lol I would have literally no idea how to get a vision 3 emulation from scratch. But like I said Im not a colorist and I still use legit colorists for all my paid DP work, dehancer just allows me to get a look I happy with for personal projects as a non colorist.
You have a rare combination of being nonchalant and not giving an F, while also being skilled and detailed. I appreciate that!
haha thanks dude, I appreciate you!
Great video Carsten. Super simple and loved the grade! Sometimes we forget we don't need to complicate things as much.
Thank you man! I appreciate that, it really is the truth lol. Any time I try to get complicated it looks like ass lol . Simplicity is key!
