Hey bro, I click on the link you provided and it's brought up the PGYTECH Handgrip Mount Plus for Ronin S model! Different - cannot mount the grip reversed!
@@PhillipSkraba hey Brat and friends, after a year I took my gimbals including the Ronin S out recently and discovered that the Version 2 of this grip mount has a different tightening mechanism but it can be pulled out so that it does catch the control stick area so it can indeed be mounted as shown - just needs to be pulled further out enough to allow for the spin-tightening lock mechanism to clear enough space!
Hey Phillip, sorry to bother you with this but, how did you programmed the 2 mode button to keep the horizon? I just got my ronin-s and in the app, I get to the mode's menu but I can't find where to put it only in horizon without holding down the Trigger Button. Thanks in advance.
Really?? In that case I either used screws that came in the box with the Ronin S or screws from SmallRig. I'm pretty sure I used the screws that came in the box though, I'll double check that tomorrow in the studio.
So, the advantage of this mount is that I think you can also mount the Smallrig mount right above it for an insane amount of mounts...not to mention that you can mount an additional two more handle grips on the sides of the Smallrig mount. To be honest, this is definitely a must have if you don't have something already connected to the side of the Ronin S.
Brat, can you do a comparison video on all your gimbals - I currently have this one (Ronin S) and RS-2 and am thinking of selling one for the RS-3. Personally, I just love the sturdiness or the Ronin S and with some added accessories - it just provides the best experience. Your thoughts?
If I had to choose a handle like the DigitalFoto handle I'd go with the SmallRig version. However, if I had to choose between all of them I'd go with the Pgytech, it's just so small and handy. There is a v2 now.
I think there might be mounts for the SC2 from SmallRig. Not 100% sure, but I've got a few coming from SmallRig for my RS 2, so worth checking that out.
I think there are two versions of this. One with the screw attachment thing and one with a lever. The major difference between the two is that the one you have you can flip it around upside down and the one I got you can't really.
Hi Thomas, yes you can flip it. Its a bit tricky but so simple when you get it. I'll try my best to explain it. You know the big screw (Grey) the one that looks like Ronin S Grey screws and you use to tightening the locks. You can actually pull it out and it will change directions. So flip it and then pull out the screw, change direction and tighten clockwise. Then again pull the screw out and tighten again .. until its perfectly locked. It takes 10 seconds. I hope I was able to explain it clearly. Cheers
Great video, thanks - I'm looking for an extension to my Ronin-S so I can add an Andycine HDMI monitor - would this mount do the job and if not, any suggestions will be most appreciated..
Believe it or not, this is actually upside down 😂 I also prefer it this way, just seems more natural for me. The correct way up was ok, now and then my knuckles felt a little too close but it was generally ok.
@@PhillipSkraba appreciate the reply bud. I will have to order this and see which is better for me. I would prefer it being the normal way but I can live with it being upside down. Do you still like the handle now and do you still use it? I have a few accessories that I thought would be brilliant but not really used them.
@@matthewskelton5855 I have a ton of accessories, and I mean a ton. This however is one of the few things I actually use. It is no doubt one of the best accessories I have, and now I see they have released a v2.

@@matthewskelton5855 Yes, the v2 has a fancy nato rail, not sure how I feel about that holding so much weight, but I'm sure they wouldn't have released it if they hadn't tested that out with enough force. Either way, fantastic add-on.
Bought the new version and instead of the tightening dial in the middle; it’s now on the right side, which makes it next to impossible to turn it the way you have it. Super frustrated.

Thanks, man! So funny, right before I watched this I canceled the order for the exact handle you showed in the box and ordered one of these. Okay, have to admit, your intro flinging the Ronin around freaked me out a bit. 🤣 Did you use the default settings for this or some custom "sport" settings?
haha, yes, the handle in the box is not that great, but this handle is awesome! There is a v2 out now, pretty similar apart from a quick release system. The intro is just me being silly! I just used the keep horizon setting, it just sits there and holds the horizon whatever silly dance I do 😂
I'm a new ronin S owner. Just put in an order for this attachment. Got a question for you regarding when you were doing your quick motion demo at the start. What settings do you have to be able to achieve the quick "standard grip" to flashlight/underslung transition without actually pressing the trigger at all during the process?
So that was basically horizon level mode, it just holds the horizon no matter what I do. Damn, you just reminded me I should charge my Ronin S and see if it still works!
Bro, awesome review as always - I have Dual IS stabilisation on both my Panasonic GH5 & Lens so was wondering if I can leave this turned on when mounted to this gimbal or does Dual IS have to be turned off? Cheers
You got my attention in the first minute already because you showed us the point of the product in the beginning. Others need 10 minutes to explain how to screw it on and I quickly lose interest. Good job!
Ok this is dope. Can you install UPSIDE down? So the handle would be pointing up towards you? That seems like you may be able to hold in flashlight mode with better leverage, incase it doesn't get in way of the motors
It's an awesome, awesome, awesome gadget! Yes, you can, and I've done that by mistake a few times, BUT I haven't checked if it gets in the way of the motors, I realised my mistake and turned it the right way up. I'll check that out when I get back in to the studio. This way up though works really well for flashlight mode, the two points of contact are a huge help! Thanks for dropping by 🔥

That would be a lot of stuff on the Ronin! I'd probably just go with the focus wheel and leave the command unit at home, buy I'm sure with a few attachments you'd be able to fit all that on there!
I have it in the horizon mode, so it just holds the horizon no matter what I do, you can program it in so you don't have to hold the button, as that's just a pain in the ass, and it's really helpful doing jib like shots.
That accessory looks awesome for real....Just recently got my own Ronin S....have used my buddy's a couple of times, loved it. Curious, what setting did you use to keep the camera level without holding the button down?
This accessory is no doubt my favourite one for the Ronin-S. It's small and easy to install, and it almost fits in the box! I programmed my 2 mode button to keep the horizon, so I just set it to mode 2 and fire away.
Man, before you do a tutorial, be sure that you mount your handle correctly. Check the box at 2:33, you mount it the wrong way... the handle is suppose to go over the camera. That's the way to install it for low shots like the Weebill Lab or Weebill S.
I actually stated that I mount it specially the wrong way at 6:30. I find it much easier to use when facing down, I find it sturdier, I find it easier to hold in underslung mode and with heavy lenses with the main motor pushed all the way back it doesn't smash into my knuckles. So for low shots and high to low shots I find this to be the ideal way to hold it, it makes the transition a ton smoother in my opinion. That's just my opinion though, of course you might find it easier to use the way it shows on the box.
Sorry to break it on you, but Nivea is not something that I'd call "proper" hand cream… Take care of your skin with good quality stuff. But to be more to the point, I was surprised you didn't show it in the other angle setup (the one on the box where the handle is parallel to the lowest beam on the Ronin - pretty much the same as that other handle does). Cheers
I'm so lazy when it comes to hand cream, once a week, and then I moan about my hands hurting 😂 I've got to be honest, I preferred it the wrong way around, found it much easier to use. Go against the flow 🔥
Sure, you can do, mind you I've been using it since I bought it quite a lot and the thread looks like it's new, so not something I think you have to worry about.
Okay, just an update. I purchased the upgraded model that has the dovetail instead of the thumb wheel attachment and I have to say, it takes a simply great product to an orgasmic level, lol. The reason I switched is the thumb wheel was slightly in the way of the mode lights on the Ronin S (yes, I know that's anal), and the new version solves this. Also, the way it clicks in, has a little spring loaded pin that retains it even when loose (until you release it) and a 1/4 turn on a lever, that MATCHES the Ronin levers (yes again, anal), ooohhh, maaan... You might not like it though because the retaining pin is not symmetrical so it is only meant to attach the one way unless you switch sides on the gimbal, so no tipping the handle upside down, I think. Later! 👽🛸
haha, I love tipping it upside down like a crazy fool! I've been thinking about it, but with the RS2 around the corner, I'm saving all my pennies for that! If it's crap, I'll get myself the handle, for sure 😂
Wow! Thanks man for sharing this! We're definitely getting one ASAP. We just wish we had it already for tje shoot we have in a couple of days, haha. But really, since the zhiyun webill s came out, we were so jealous of the way you can configure the handle... But this allow us to do exactly that with our ronin s and get more low angles, which are a total pain to get unless you are as strong as Hulk! Best
You're welcome! Yes, this is the same reason I got this awesome gadget! It's really great to use and you can get some fantastic shots without needed the strength of the Hulk! I love it, and it's so compact!
I'm afraid I'm not sure about that as it's made for the Ronin-S. Smallrig make an underslung handle for the Moza Air 2, it's much bigger than this though.
Hey bro, I miss your older videos - you used to be so funny! LOL - by the way, most people mount this the other way up - I prefer to have it down like this too!
@@DungarooTV Oh you know, just chillin', having a Bud. Been trying to keep away from drones, but now that America might be banning them, I might make a come back haha!
Sure you could, but I'm guessing like many people I have a lot of trust in DJI, it has never failed on me, it can handle a ton of abuse and it has a load of features the Weebill doesn't, that's why I stick to it. I don't really find this to be a hassle either, I actually like the fact I can have a single handle or double. The Weebill S is a great little gimbal, but personally I prefer the Ronin S. Thanks for dropping by 🔥
I know 😂 PGYTECH must be so pissed off that the film with most views on this handle has it upside down the whole time 😂😂 It works much better this way though, let's hope they change the picture on the box!
It's awesome! This is actually something I use! A lot of accessories gather dust on my shelves, but this thing I've been using non-stop, I highly recommend it!
I'm afraid only strong accents are allowed on RUclips, it's in the regulations, otherwise you are not allowed to make videos. Try a Scottish one, that's always a good one.

I had to look at the images in the Amazon link. I now see it bolts to only one side so that should leave room for the monitor mount I mentioned.
Sure, there are 1/4 20's you can bolt the mount on, either from SmallRig, Ulanzi or Titla no doubt!

Nicely done 👍
Thank You 🔥
Thanks! You just made me buy the ronin sc with this video :)
haha! It's such a good gimbal! I'm sure you'll love it, get this handle too and you're golden!
Phillip Skraba as soon as this quarantine is over here in Italy I will get the handle too :) thanks man! Subscribed.
@@vanraz Ahh, I hope you guys are okay over there! Here in Poland it seems to have been quite mild. Thank You! I really appreciate the sub 🔥
Thank you , it´s so needed, directly buyed ! ✌️
You will love this! I tried the SmallRig handle too, this one is hands down the best one on the market, the design is spot on! 🔥
@@PhillipSkraba very good tipps on your channel , which town you´re livin?
Could you mount it side ward? (Thanks)
No, I'm afraid you can't. Only straight with the gimbal.
@@PhillipSkraba Thank you!
@@ReleaseYourHandbrake No problem, anytime!
Does is work with moza air 2 ?
I'm afraid I'm not sure about that as it's made for the Ronin-S. Smallrig make an underslung handle for the Moza Air 2, it's much bigger than this though.
@@PhillipSkraba dors it work on sc ?
@@req170 I believe so, yes.
Hey bro, I miss your older videos - you used to be so funny! LOL - by the way, most people mount this the other way up - I prefer to have it down like this too!
Ahh Kevin! You're alive! Hell, I'm still funny! I haven't used this in years, they just keep sending me new gimbals!!
@@PhillipSkraba Ha ha ha...don't forget brat I have been with you from the beginning...
@DungarooTV you sound like my Mum Kevin!
@@PhillipSkraba Ha ha have you been brat?
@@DungarooTV Oh you know, just chillin', having a Bud. Been trying to keep away from drones, but now that America might be banning them, I might make a come back haha!
1:10 funny bro lol
I do my best to keep the community entertained 😂
Cool Video! Very Interesting!
It's a fantastic accessory, one that I use the most!
Ok, I'll subscribe, but after that intro, I want to meet your dealer.. lol
haha, okay, I went overboard 😂 I was just trying to demonstrate how crazy you can go with this thing 😂
Or u know - could just buy the weebill lab/s series and save all this hassle
Sure you could, but I'm guessing like many people I have a lot of trust in DJI, it has never failed on me, it can handle a ton of abuse and it has a load of features the Weebill doesn't, that's why I stick to it. I don't really find this to be a hassle either, I actually like the fact I can have a single handle or double. The Weebill S is a great little gimbal, but personally I prefer the Ronin S. Thanks for dropping by 🔥
no problem.i also agree.dji software is so much better and tracking is also better. pros and cons i guess. nice channel btw.subcribed
There goes your focus wheel.
Wait, where?
If you check all the videos about this handle on youtube, your the only one that mount it the wrong way...Lol
I know 😂 PGYTECH must be so pissed off that the film with most views on this handle has it upside down the whole time 😂😂 It works much better this way though, let's hope they change the picture on the box!
@@PhillipSkraba I actually bought it specifically because it was facing that way
Great accessory to have 👌
It's awesome! This is actually something I use! A lot of accessories gather dust on my shelves, but this thing I've been using non-stop, I highly recommend it!

Спасибо!
Nevermind, I see it's connected on one side.
Oh okay, haha, spoke too fast, been there done that! Happy New Year!
@@PhillipSkraba Absolutely. You also.

Phillip Skraba hahah I hear ya man good video
Far you are a crack up.
I try my best 😂
hahaha, farmer Dave made it to the video :D
The best farmer in the world 🤜🏻🍒🤛🏻
can i make videos? i dont have an accent
I'm afraid only strong accents are allowed on RUclips, it's in the regulations, otherwise you are not allowed to make videos. Try a Scottish one, that's always a good one.
Be careful, or a fly will fall into your mouth.
Thank God you said a fly.
when I see 01.00 he do it with gimbal things .....im outa here ....and thumbs down!
Thanks for dropping by 🔥 Any thumb is a good thumb, so thanks either way! If you really don't like it, hit that thumb twice just to make sure 😂
