- South London drill rapper Mayhem (up top) has been jailed for 16 years after being found in possession of firearms intended to be taken tot he funeral of his friend who was murdered in 2022.
Six gang members have been handed stiff sentences after stocking up on guns for the funeral of a friend shot dead in Brixton. The Met Police learnt that David Messenger from Clapham may have had a gun in his home before raiding the address on June 17 last year.
Officers found three guns and ammunition hidden in a shoebox in a garage. Deleted Snapchat conversations found Messenger had been ordered by Jordan Joseph aka 'Mayhem' to store the weapons and bring them to the funeral of Lemar Urquhart aka 'Perm', after he was shot dead in Brixton two years ago.
The same day Messenger was arrested, Chuckiel Simms and another person were in a taxi headed towards the funeral in Wandsworth Cemetery. But cops swooped in and found a gun, ammunition, and a folding pocket knife.
